Publicación Biofarmacéuticas antioqueñas. Una mirada desde el management del conocimiento y la innovación(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Hernández-Ruiz, Alfredo; Osorio Montoya, Bárbara PatriciaAntioquia is venturing into the biopharmaceutical industry with the aim of contributing to the treatment of chronic and emerging diseases worldwide. This sector, which is knowledge- and innovation-intensive, requires an intentional management approach to these two aspects, which represent challenges that have not yet been overcome in the region. The objective of this research was to construct a framework for Knowledge and Innovation Management (KIM) that would make visible the integration of fundamental elements for the successful development of biopharmaceutical solutions. This research adopted a qualitative approach. Data collection was conducted in two phases: a systematic literature review and field research. The literature review focused on articles and institutional reports published over the last three decades, with a focus on knowledge management and innovation in the biopharmaceutical sector, using academic databases and specific search terms. The field research consisted of semi-structured interviews with five opinion leaders from the biopharmaceutical sector in Antioquia, gathering their concepts and perceptions on the research topic. Finally, information from both phases was contrasted to identify the main challenges and propose a framework for action. The findings revealed that, despite efforts to articulate capabilities, the region faces deep-seated obstacles: disconnection among system actors, shortage of specialized professionals, regulatory and financial challenges, a system poorly harmonized with international standards, extensive regulatory processes, and lack of economic incentives. The study concluded that KIM is not considered or utilized as a strategic capability in Antioquia's biopharmaceutical companies. A framework for action is proposed that integrates technical elements (People, Processes, Technology, Governance) and ideological elements (Mindset, Trust, Leadership), whose systemic articulation is necessary for the sector's success.Publicación Desarrollo de un modelo de negocio innovador apalancado en IA para el aprendizaje autónomo del inglés en profesionales(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Higuita Pulgarín, María Camila; García Uribe, Sandra; Franco Ruiz, CamiloThis research proposes the design and validation of an innovative business model based on artificial intelligence to facilitate autonomous English learning among Colombian professionals. The solution takes shape in Monamate, a virtual AI-powered assistant that interacts via WhatsApp, enabling natural conversations, contextual feedback, and personalized recommendations. The methodological process combined qualitative interviews, surveys, and a five-day experimental test with 20 users, structured in three phases: diagnosis, proposal, and validation. Frameworks such as the Business Model Canvas, Design Thinking, and Lean Startup were applied. Key barriers, tensions, and motivations were identified using user archetypes (Cooper, 1999) and the Jobs to Be Done method (Christensen et al., 2016). During the experimental phase, value and growth hypotheses were formulated and evaluated according to Ries (2012), allowing analysis of the initial desirability, usability, and viability of the model. The results show a positive perception of the channel, high perceived utility, and willingness to pay, supporting the potential to scale the model. This early experiment informs key strategic decisions for the future development and monetization of the proposal, providing applied evidence for an innovative and context-sensitive educational solution.Publicación Gestión del conocimiento como impulsor de innovación un enfoque de investigación- acción en el área de I+D de Prebel S.A. BIC(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Pérez Marulanda, Manuela; Osorio Montoya, Barbara PatriciaOrganizational knowledge is a strategic asset that integrates skills, experiences, and practices, whose management requires its mobilization and sharing to drive innovation. In a company such as Prebel S.A. BIC, this aspect becomes highly relevant; however, its potential to generate real value is not yet clear. This research aims to propose knowledge management strategies that foster innovation within Prebel’s R&D area. The study was conducted using an action-research approach within a qualitative, exploratory, and participatory framework. The methodology combined a literature review on the subject, organizational context research, and intervention, which constituted the action. This integration made it possible to analyze the current state of knowledge management within the organization and, at the same time, raise awareness of knowledge as a strategic asset. As a result of this process, strategies are proposed across three knowledge horizons. The first horizon seeks to reframe knowledge to strengthen current capabilities. The second horizon is oriented toward the amplification of knowledge and the creation of new capabilities. Finally, the third horizon focuses on challenging uncertainty and anticipating the future through knowledge, exploring initiatives that project the organization into the long term. Through this action, cohesion within the team was achieved, along with the first collective activities aimed at intentionally mobilizing knowledge.Publicación Gestión del conocimiento de colorantes naturales para bebidas a partir de una herramienta de inteligencia artificial generativa(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Cardona Guerra, Paola; Palacio Peña, Juan Alejandro; NingunoPublicación Integración de la dimensión estratégica y operativa de la gestión de conocimiento para potenciar la innovación(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Londoño Bedoya, María Isabel; Osorio Montoya, Barbara PatriciaThere are numerous studies on knowledge management as a fundamental enabler for achieving innovation. However, despite the literature, tools, and resources, organizations still lack a solid connection between knowledge management and innovation that allows initiatives to materialize. Therefore, this research aims to develop a knowledge management action framework that enhances innovation in organizations. The research is based on a systematic literature review and a comparative analysis of classic and emerging approaches, with the aim of articulating and connecting perspectives, leading to the construction of the framework. This framework is composed of an understanding of knowledge management from two dimensions: strategic and operational. The first includes enablers such as leadership, culture, metrics, technology, and processes, while the second corresponds to the operational activities of these enablers based on the organization's multi-scale knowledge. However, it is the deliberate integration of these two dimensions that makes knowledge management fundamental to enabling collective intelligence and strengthening innovation.Publicación Metodología Faro : Facilitando el Aprendizaje Reflexivo Organizacional(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Rico Flórez, Catalina; Arias Giraldo, Juan Esteban; Vélez Castiblanco, Jorge IvánIn the knowledge economy, an organization's ability to manage tacit knowledge is a decisive factor for its innovation, sustainability, and adaptation in complex contexts. However, a gap persists between the theory and practice of managing this type of knowledge due to the difficulty of designing methodologies that activate it and make it transferable in organizational life. This research aims to close this gap through the design and implementation of the FARO methodology, an experiential approach that integrates improvisation and theater as a vehicle for building living Ba environments. The research was conducted with a team of ten leaders from St. Even (Medellín, Colombia), through seven weekly two-hour sessions, framed within the action research methodology and complemented by autoethnographic and hermeneutic approaches. The fieldwork revealed a significant shift: although the initial goal was to foster the development of the “wise leader” (phronesis), the findings showed that the true potential lay in the creation of an experiential Ba, understood as a relational and symbolic space where trust, creativity, self-knowledge, and collective learning emerge. The results reveal that the FARO methodology facilitates creative awakening, comprehensive self-awareness, and the building of authentic connections, elements that enhance the quality of shared tacit knowledge and project it toward innovation and the common good. The main contribution of this thesis lies in offering a theoretical and practical framework that enables organizations to become schools for learning about humanity, where knowledge is transformed into personal, collective, and cultural development.Publicación Optimización de la gestión y transferencia del conocimiento en concesionarios automotrices para mejorar la interacción entre equipos de trabajo y la satisfacción del cliente(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Mejía Rivera, Susana; Vanegas Vélez, Daniel; Monroy Osorio, Juan Carlos; Bejarano Botero, Luis MauricioThis research paper analyzes knowledge transfer in automotive dealerships, with an emphasis on tacit knowledge, its conversion into explicit knowledge, and how these influence operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Based on the case study of Massy Motors Medellín, organizational strategies and factors that promote a collaborative culture focused on well-being and continuous learning are identified. The proposal seeks to strengthen knowledge management mechanisms, standardize organizational culture, and generate a positive impact on both customer experience and employee performance.
