To achieve this objective, a qualitative study with a descriptive scope and non-experimental design was conducted. The research was structured in three (3) stages, addressing key aspects related to the problem under analysis. In Stage 1 (review/evaluation of the current situation), it was confirmed that the company’s operations rely on a perpetual inventory model supported by Microsoft Word, with manual records and no specialized technological integration. Stage 2 (identification of improvement gaps) focused on areas with potential for intervention, including lack of accuracy and methodology in inventory records, layout-related difficulties in storage areas, and the rationale behind restocking decisions. Finally, in Stage 3 (recommendations and proposal), a plan was designed to strengthen the company’s inventory management system from three (3) perspectives: (a) technological – implementing an ERP or WMS system with traceability and automation features; (b) operational – optimizing space through warehouse layout redesign and establishing a formal protocol for conducting physical inventories; and (c) organizational – developing performance indicators and updating or replacing the current costing model with one based on historical and projected data.Ítem Diseñar un modelo de negocio para los inversionistas de Cervecería Primer Piso S.A.S.(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Cardona Echavarría, Andrés Felipe; Pineda Toro, Oscar MauricioPublicación Diseño de un sistema de telegestión mediante la infraestructura del servicio de alumbrado público para la gestión de cuidades inteligentes en el Área Metropolitana del Valle de la Aburrá(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Bolívar Carmona, Juan Pablo; Ortega Álvarez, Ana MaríaThis work primarily aims to design a remote management system for the public lighting service, which is oriented toward the management of smart cities in the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley. From this starting point, three specific objectives are established to guide the research. First, new technologies applied to public lighting systems are examined, evaluating their potential to address the various urban issues in the region. This analysis includes identifying technologies such as smart sensors, automated control systems, and data analysis platforms that enable more efficient service management. Second, a critical evaluation of the mechanisms available in the market is carried out, focusing on the integration of devices through remote management systems. In this way, the study explores in depth how these technologies can improve the operation and maintenance of public lighting, as well as facilitate real-time monitoring and optimize energy consumption. Finally, a strategic remote management plan is formulated that promotes collaboration among the different public agencies involved. This plan aims to establish a framework for real-time decision-making, ensuring a swift response to critical situations and improving citizens' quality of life. In summary, this work proposes a comprehensive approach that seeks to transform public lighting into a key tool for the development of a more sustainable and intelligent metropolitan areaPublicación Estudio de prefactibilidad para la implementación de un sistema de smart cities para el municipio de Envigado(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Márquez Cano, Carolina; Salazar Gomez Francisco Javier; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz AmparoSmart cities are a topic that has been developing worldwide for more than 20 years, and that is becoming increasingly important as technology and urban development of cities advance. This is why large cities have begun to research and implement systems and strategies for the good of the community and its development. The main objective of this work is to structure a pre-feasibility study for the implementation of a Smart Cities system for the municipality of Envigado, under compliance with the current development plan, taking into account the pillars of sustainability and population growth in the urban area of the municipality, seeking better living conditions for citizens, better maintenance practices, and improving the times in administrative decision-making. The sources used for the development of this study show the significant progress that has been made in the development of solutions that lead a city to be classified as smart and that improve the living conditions of its inhabitants, and in turn, confirm that the Municipality of Envigado meets the conditions to begin the process of implementing said systems. It is important to highlight that the development of this study is in line with the current development plan 2024-2027, which seeks to implement systems that promote the technological development of the municipality, its connectivity, environmental care and better living conditions for its inhabitants. In conclusion, the possible implementation of the project is important for the sustainable development of the municipality and the quality of life of its inhabitants.Publicación Diagnóstico sobre la inclusion financiera de las microempresas en el Área Metropolitana del Valle de Aburrá desde una óptica de su acceso y uso de productos financieros(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Garro Betancur, Elizabeth; Rave Arango, Natalia; Giraldo Hernández, Gina María; Johnson García, SantiagoThe objective of this study is to diagnose the access and use of financial products related to savings, credit, and investment by micro-entrepreneurs in the “Aburrá Valley”, with the aim of contributing to their financial inclusion. Possible causes for the low access and use of financial products include factors such as financial education, the limited availability of products tailored to the needs of micro-entrepreneurs, their economic barriers, macroeconomic variables, risks of non-compliance, and geographic or infrastructural restrictions, among others. Through various methodologies, an analysis was conducted to better understand these limitations and provide recommendations to facilitate the access and use of financial products by micro-entrepreneurs in the metropolitan area of “Aburrá Valley”. Based on the results obtained, several conclusions have been drawn. It is expected that banks will design a more tailored and segmented offering that better meets the real needs of micro-entrepreneurs, supporting them in managing their businesses through a deeper understanding of their sector and providing them with tools to improve their financial literacy. Additionally, it is essential that microfinance institutions, cooperatives, and corporations continue advancing in digitalization and the use of technology to offer more competitive products in terms of interest rates. For their part, Fintech companies must take on a more significant role in offering savings, credit, and investment alternatives for micro-entrepreneurs.Publicación Plan de negocios para venta de energía renovable mediante contratos tipo PPA en los departamentos del Cesar, Guajira y Magdalena(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Vaños Rocha, Carlos Ernesto; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz Amparo; Salazar Gómez, Francisco JavierThis work presents the structuring of a business plan for the sale of renewable energy through Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) contracts in the departments of Cesar, Guajira, and Magdalena, Colombia. It was identified that many companies in the country have stopped operating on a generational basis due to the absence of a clear succession plan, which can lead to a disruption in operations over time. For this reason, the lack of a succession plan becomes a significant risk factor for the continuity of family operated business organizations. The study includes interviews with eleven family businesses belonging to the first, second and third generations, with the purpose of identifying the family situations they face when designing a succession plan. The main objective was to prepare a simple and easy-to-implement document that facilitates the process of creating an executable succession plan. In this way, the study sought to define the most common factors that influence family businesses, either to motivate them to establish a succession plan or to postpone it, even when they recognize its importance. The methodology used was a qualitative approach, since this allowed a more transversal and open analysis. The interviews conducted with the representatives of the eleven family businesses provided valuable information about the challenges they face as a family when designing a succession plan.Ítem Estudio de prefactibilidad del proyecto de desarrollo de una solución tecnológica de ruta de sostenibilidad 360 grados(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Moreno Melo , Daniel Eduardo; Tabares Jaramillo, Camilo; Henao Arango, María CeciliaPublicación La economía circular en las pymes de la industria textil de Medellín y el Área Metropolitana del Valle de Aburrá(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Betancur Villegas, Jorge Mario; Marín Ramírez, Diana Marcela; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz Amparo; Ng Henao, RobertThe textile industry in Medellín and “el Valle de Aburrá”, with its long tradition and significant contribution to the local economy, faces pressing sustainability challenges derived from its linear operating model. The sensitivity analysis determined a dependence on sales volume, for which ongoing monitoring of commercial and financial performance is recommended. The pre-feasibility study showed that the platform is feasible for marketing Colombian green specialty coffee in the United States. Its potential to generate economic value and contribute to the benefit of coffee growers by modernizing the marketing of Colombian coffee is highlighted.Publicación Propuesta de un plan de mercadeo para el ingreso al mercado de hoteles, restaurantes y cafeterías de la empresa Santacoloma Coffee S.A.S.(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Santacoloma Agudelo, Juan Diego; Londoño Vélez, Natalia; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz AmparoPublicación Modelo de direccionamiento estratégico para la empresa TDMEK(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Mejía Agudelo, Sara Valentina; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz Amparo; Delgado Restrepo, Ricardo de JesúsPublicación Plan exportador Uniroca(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Ramírez Roldán, Daniel; Cadavid Grajales, César Fabián; Roldán Yepes, RaquelPublicación Definición de oportunidades de productos importados para la atención de necesidades del sector HORECA en Pereira(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Mejía García, Kevin; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz Amparo; Londoño Vélez, NataliaThe HORECA sector, which includes businesses such as hotels, restaurants, casinos, and institutional food services, is one of the most important drivers of the Colombian economy. This is why the research objective focuses on identifying opportunities for the portfolio of imported products in the HORECA sector in the city of Pereira. By conducting a documentary review through marketing and consumer behavior frameworks, combined with understanding the context and perception of business owners, the research identifies their main challenges and needs, decision-making processes, and the development of a communication and commercialization strategy for the product category in question. The findings indicate that the most relevant challenges lie in the workforce and the changing dynamics of the market, aligned with decision-making processes that follow a similar structure across organizations. However, depending on the size of the company, the level of complexity may increase. Regarding the determination of commercialization strategies and opportunities in the sector, it is identified that there is a demand for a variety of imported ingredients in line with the growing trend of international cuisine in the city, as well as the implementation of process technologies. This is paired with marketing through highly qualified advisors, providing support and training, and participation in innovation and technology fairs to strengthen relationships and improve the company’s positioning.
