Publicación Optimización de la gestión de proyectos mediante el análisis de valor agregado para garantizar la eficiencia en el proceso de diseño, fabricación e instalación de tanques en PRFV(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Yepes Bedoya, Catalina; Hernández López, Juan David; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaThis degree work focuses on the optimization of project management in the Soling company, dedicated to the design, manufacture and installation of GRP tanks. The growth of the organization showed operational deficiencies such as delays, non-compliance and costs associated with non-quality, affecting customer satisfaction and process efficiency. The main objective was to improve operational efficiency through a value-added analysis, identifying critical activities and proposing strategies to optimize them. A methodology was used that classified activities into three categories: activities that add value for the client, those that do not add value, and those that add value for the organization. The results showed a 45% reduction in manufacturing process times, reducing production time from 82 to 45 days. The improvements implemented included optimization in the identification of needs in the commercial area, standardization of designs, implementation of verification tools and production training, in addition to strengthening alliances with suppliers to streamline logistics and dispatches. In conclusion, with the actions implemented, it is expected to improve response time and customer satisfaction, strengthening relationships with customers and thus consolidating a competitive value proposition for the organization. This study highlights the importance of implementing management tools to optimize processes and improve competitiveness in value chain processesPublicación Propuesta de mejora del proceso de acondicionamiento en una empresa de la industria farmacéutica para satisfacer la demanda(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Rios Villada, Ana Carolina; García Medina, Juan David; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaThe main objective of this study is to propose improvements in the conditioning process of a pharmaceutical industry company to meet the growing market demand. These actions not only seek to increase productivity but also to ensure the quality of the final product, complying with regulatory standards and meeting customer expectations.Publicación Definición del proceso de obras por la administración en la secretaría de infraestructura física del distrito de Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Escudero Ramírez, Jorge Eliécer; Montoya Hernández, Ángela María; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaThis research arises from the need to design a process that regulates the traceability of works executed under direct administration by the Medellín District. Its main objective is to highlight the importance of adequately documenting the maintenance interventions in public spaces, which are crucial for the city. This new process is intended to become a management tool that facilitates actions in accordance with public management policies, such as institutional planning, integrity, transparency, and internal control guidelines. For its development, the Integrated Public Management Model (MIGP) was taken into consideration, as it incorporates public management policies and enables public entities and organizations to focus their management on results, addressing community needs and solving problems. The initiative for this new process emerged from the author's need, which, as a public servant, is responsible to lead activities for the Medellín District that, until the completion of this research, were not visible to the district administration. The process resulting from this research is summarized in a management tool consisting of two components: a scheduling and control matrix and a Power BI dashboard. These complementary components compile and visualize the information in the form of concrete and relevant data that had not been previously monitored or managed by the administration. These data and indicators reveal the significant importance of these works executed by the Secretariat of Physical Infrastructure of the Medellín Mayor’s Office, using its own resources such as heavy machinery and transportation, materials, and official workers' crews. The implementation of this tool facilitated carrying on a concrete analysis of the management of works under direct administration, enabling leaders and executives to support operational and managerial decision-making; likewise, it will allow the district administration to take relevant information from these new data sources for accountability reporting that, as a public entity, it applies to the different stakeholders.Publicación Propuesta de mejora del proceso de control de calidad de una planta del sector aseo en el departamento del Quindío(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Betancur Tamayo, Jessica; García Almeida, Hader Eduardo; Hernández López , Juan David; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaThis work presents a proposal to improve the quality control process in a plant of the cleaning sector located in the department of Quindío. The proposal was born from the analysis of the Quality Control and Assurance process and its inefficiencies, where problems such as centralization of responsibilities, low participation of operating personnel and insufficient technical training stand out. Questionnaires applied to 200 operators and structured interviews with process managers were used to identify the main limitations and opportunities for improvement. The results of the study, as well as the analysis of the results, showed a disconnection between the operational and quality areas, a lack of clarity in the distribution of roles, limited autonomy of personnel and deficiencies in training. To achieve the central purpose, recommendations were made that include a continuous training model, interdepartmental quality committees, visual management systems for assigning responsibilities, and technological tools to empower operational personnel. These actions seek to promote operational co-responsibility, optimize resources and strengthen the culture of continuous improvement. The conclusions highlight that the implementation of these strategies will not only contribute to the reduction of complaints, claims and costs associated with reprocesses, addressing current problems, but could also establish a replicable model for other organizations in the sector. This would strengthen sustainability and competitiveness in an increasingly demanding and globalized environment.Ítem Diseño de la cadena de valor de la Vicerrectoría de Aprendizaje de la Universidad EAFIT(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Gómez Osorio, Alejandra; Giraldo Hernández, Gina María; Agudelo Londoño, VanessaIn this degree work, the value chain of the Vice-Rector's Office of Learning at EAFIT University was designed, recognizing the importance of having this tool clearly and defined as a fundamental pillar for effective process operation. To design the value chain, a methodology was used that involved detailed analysis of the processes, resources and relationships within the Vice-Rector's Office, as well as the identification of the key elements that contribute to the achievement of its mission and objectives. Through the application of process-based organizational design techniques, a comprehensive model was outlined that describes how the Vice-Rector's Office adds value to its students, professors and administrators; and also to companies, enterprises and public systems. It was concluded that having a defined value chain aligned with the institutional strategy is essential to guarantee the effectiveness and relevance of the Vice-Rector for Learning in the current educational context.Ítem El liderazgo en grupos multigeneracionales y como afecta la eficacia en los procesos en empresas pyme prestadoras de servicios(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Durán Agudelo, Valentina; Garzón Lasso, Fernando AlexanderÍtem Propuesta de diseño del proceso misional gestión integral de aguas en la Empresa de Servicios Públicos de Guatapé E.S.P. These two tools are globally recognized for their ability to consistently improve business results. However, their methods differ significantly: while Lean Manufacturing focuses on reducing waste throughout the value chain, TOC focuses on minimizing the impact at specific points, called constraints. This disparity carries notable advantages and disadvantages. Lean Manufacturing drives improvements throughout the chain and promotes a culture of continuous improvement, although its implementation can be slower and more expensive. On the other hand, TOC, by focusing on restrictions, obtains faster and more forceful results. However, its long-term impact may be limited due to the displacement of the constraint along the chain. To achieve an integrated methodology, a bibliographic review and interviews with experts in Lean Manufacturing and TOC were carried out. The interviews carried out sought to understand in a practical way how these methodologies behave in the companies analyzed. These actions allowed us to define, in six steps, a tool that seeks to take advantage of the best of each approach and avoid conflicts, generating a complementary process. The resulting methodology, based on theoretical and practical information, aims to optimize operational excellence, generating more reliable and flexible processes, which facilitates adaptation to market expectations.Ítem Modelo de gestión integral para la administración de datos maestros de proveedores(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Ospina Ruiz, Luisa Fernanda; Giraldo Hernández, Gina María; García Medina, Juan DavidÍtem Análisis del proceso de atención al cliente brindado por el proveedor de contact center de una aerolínea colombiana(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Builes González, Lina María; Giraldo Hernández, Gina María; Toro Upegui, ClaraÍtem Análisis y propuesta de mejora del proceso de ciclo contable para una empresa de e-commerce en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Múnera Cardona , María Camila; Sánchez Cogollo, María José; Montoya Hernández, Ángela; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaÍtem Guía para el desarrollo e implementación de un mapa de procesos en una constructora del sector privado en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Romero Palacio, Daniel; Massey Hurtado, Juan Carlos; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaÍtem Plan de mejoramiento del proceso de administración laboral de contratos tipo ABYS en EPM(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Pulgarín Ramírez, Estefanía; Saldarriaga Alzate, Carlos Alberto; Giraldo Hernández, Gina María; Velásquez Cuartas, Jhon OrlandoÍtem Modelo de gestión por procesos para la estructuración de proyectos en una empresa de venta directa(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Berrío Gómez, Angélica; Zapata Aristizábal, Sergio Andrés; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaThe present research has been developed with the objective of strengthening organizational capacities through a process management system that will allow identifying, prioritizing, analyzing and finally standardizing the processes carried out in the execution of the project structuring process in the organization. in question, and will serve as a source of information and guidance for its collaborators.
