Initially, an in-depth analysis of the theoretical foundations supporting these leadership styles will be undertaken, exploring their specific application in the context of projects. Subsequently, a close examination of how these leadership styles directly influence business development will be conducted, taking into consideration both their short- and long-term impacts. Furthermore, a meticulous assessment of key variables interacting with project leadership, such as the business environment, organizational culture, and available resources, will be carried out. The objective is to enhance understanding of how these variables influence business success. This holistic approach will provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between project leadership and business development, establishing a solid foundation for formulating effective leadership and business management strategies. This comprehensive approach is crucial for capturing the complexity of how project leadership impacts the health and direction of a company. By delving deeper into the different leadership styles and their specific application in the project context, a clearer understanding can be gained of how each approach affects operational efficiency, team motivation, and the ability to adapt to challenges. Method: Qualitative - descriptive re-search, although this type of approach was chosen, the exercise was performed to determine the joint analysis of the results, in order to obtain a summary of the trends within the group studied. This doesn´t mean that the results obtained had not statistical validity. In the same way, the method will be a multi cases study, based on Yin (2003) and Bell (2005) theory. The tech-nique to obtain information is Managerial Grid of Blake & Mouton (1964), LEAD -The Leader Adaptability and Style Inventory de Hersey & Blanchard (1974) and the adaptation of the power kinds inventory based on French & Raven (1959) theory. Research Question: What are the coincidences and differences between the leadership style self-perceived by the leaders and the styles perceived by the work teams about their leaders in five areas of two multilatinas companies in Medellín city? Results: It was found that, for the employees of both companies, the perception of leadership style was more positive than the leader's self-perception. It was also evident in the five leaders a leadership style oriented at a high level in both tasks and people, the leaders motivate through persuasion to their employees to achieve the objectives they set, making them participate in decisions and giving value to their opinions. These leaders become admired people either because of their experience, knowledge, vision strategic, personality or ability to lead teams.Ítem Estilos de liderazgo en áreas de producción y su influencia en la transmisión de las políticas de promoción de salud laboral y auto cuidado en una organización multilatina(2019) Sánchez Sepúlveda, Claudia Cecilia; López Gallego, FranciscoObjective: describe, from the perspective of Blake, Mouton, Hersey, Blanchart, French and Ra-ven, the leadership styles of the production supervisors of a manufacturer multilatina company located in Sabaneta-Antioquia, with the purpose of understanding its influence on the transmission of self-care policies in the organization. Method: case study with a descriptive qualitative ap-proach, in which a sample of production supervisors and workers were selected, to which questionnaires of leadership styles and types of power were applied. Research question: the research problem was summarized with the followed question: which are the leadership styles that best favor the transmission policies for promoting occupational health and self-care in the organization? Results: with this research it was possible to identify that the leadership styles that most favor the transmission of self-care policies and promotion of occupational health are those in which there are more orientation to people, like persuasive and participative style of situational leadership theory; the buffered pendulum style of the management mesh theory and the power approach that achieves a balance between reward power, coercive power and the referent.Ítem Estilos de liderazgo y empoderamiento : el caso de la empresa Stop Jeans(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Henao Pino, Isabel Cristina; Ruiz Quiroz, Vannesa; López Gallego, Francisco DaríoThe evolution in organizational management and team management practices has occurred in history hand in hand with advances in the conception of leadership and the search for explanations for its success or failure. This work is based on the exploration of some theories that have sought to explain the leadership and management behaviors of outstanding teams and with successful results that began by interpreting their explanation from inherited traits, then the theory of traits was discussed and studied the characteristics and common traits of leadership, then the theory of behavior was reached and later the theory of contingency was raised, finding as a relevant element the situation in which leadership occurs that gives rise to the differential behavior of the leader. At this point, Blake and Mouton's managerial grid theory plus Hersey and Blanchard's situational leadership theory, along with their proposed models for identifying leadership styles, are presented as relevant and as the methodology used in this degree work, to carry out an investigative work located in the Stop Jeans company, which had the intention of exploring the leadership styles of the company's leaders at all levels to provide the human resources area with a diagnosis of how close or prepared they were to promote the empowerment of their teams; and in which the main finding was the fact that the leadership styles that predominated in the organization had a high interest both in the relationship with people and in the task and the results, finally pointing out that they were not currently prepared to the empowerment of their teams in charge.Ítem Estilos de liderazgo, manejo de conflicto y comunicación asertiva en equipos de proyectos : el caso Arquiara(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Álvarez Fois, Federico; Arcila Rengifo, Edda Catalina; López Gallego, Francisco DaríoThis research highlights the results obtained from the analysis and diagnosis of leadership styles, communication effects, and conflict resolution of managers and team projects from the Arquiara organization. The case study methodology was applied to meet the objectives, using diagnostic methodologies of the Hersey and Blanchard situational model, the Thomas and Kilmann conflict management model, and the modified Rathus survey, and then contrasted with the leadership skills required by the Project Management Institute (2017) for project management. Opportunities for improvement of both managers and team members were identified, consisting primarily in the areas of communication skills and conflict resolution, and thus in leadership styles. Various actions were suggested so as to strengthen professional development and leadership skill of managers in adhocratic teams, in order to achieve the organization's objectives.Ítem Estilos y efectividad en el liderazgo e intervención en el conflicto : análisis de equipos de proyectos en EPM(Universidad Eafit, 2019) Calle Usuga, Elizabeth Cristina; López Gallego, FranciscoThis research presents the results of the study focused on the assessment of preferences and effectiveness in leadership styles and conflict intervention in the adhocratic teams of the members of the Environmental and Social Management (GASPeI) of EPM, according to the Hersey and Blanchard situational model, the Thomas and Kilmann conflict management premises and the recommendations established by the PMI for the project team management required soft skills. The research was based on a methodology of qualitative modality, through the application of public use and academically endorsed assessment instruments; from which, similarities and differences in the preferences and effectiveness in leadership styles and conflict intervention of the selected project teams members were established as an analysis sample, achieving the identification of improvement opportunities in the driving skills of the teams in question, and likewise, establishing relationships between the predominant leadership and negotiation features of the participants of the analyzed project team and the recommendations established by the Project Management Institute (2017), regarding the soft skills that must be implemented to achieve the objectives, not only of the projects but also of the organization.Ítem Guía para identificar cuál es el liderazgo requerido para una gerencia integral por procesos(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Agudelo Tobón, Luis Fernando; Giraldo Hernandez, Gina;; Garzón Lasso, Fernando AlexanderLas metodologías de gestión por procesos utilizadas para alcanzar resultados, por estar muy orientadas a la ejecución de tareas, se enfocan en el presente y son buenas para conseguir que las organizaciones funcionen con eficiencia. Por otro lado, para que las organizaciones sean eficaces se requiere dirección y acompañamiento, y esto depende del liderazgo (Icontec, 2015), y de la interpretación de la norma NTC-ISO 9001:2015. De la misma manera, los procesos de cambio que involucren algún modelo de gestión como el enfoque por procesos requieren de estilos de liderazgo con capacidad para producir cambios sustantivos. El propósito de esta investigación es identificar los diferentes estilos de liderazgo que se requieren para implementar una gerencia integral por procesos. A través del análisis de diferentes autores sobre los estilos de liderazgo y sobre la gestión por procesos, complementado con entrevistas a líderes de organizaciones y expertos técnicos que han estado involucrados en la gerencia integral en Colombia, se identifica cómo han resuelto este tema y cuáles han sido sus resultados. The sample used consisted of twenty-one workers of the organization who completed a survey in which they were allowed to share their perception regarding the leadership style exhibited by their immediate boss, as well as its impact on their job satisfaction. The data obtained allowed to identify a predominance of the Democratic and Transformational styles, these being associated in 100% of the cases with job satisfaction. With a lower presence, there were the Autocratic and Liberal styles associated with job dissatisfaction, leading to the conclusion that the two predominant styles in the organization could have a positive connotation in relation to satisfaction, while the other two styles would have an influence on dissatisfaction.Ítem Preferencias en los estilos de liderazgo e intervención en el conflicto y su influencia en la productividad del equipo comercial de una empresa financiera en la ciudad de Medellín(2019) Restrepo Cadavid, Carolina; Betancur Rojas, Eliana; López Gallego, FranciscoObjective: to identify the leadership styles and intervention in the conflict of the office managers of Bancoomeva regional Medellín, according to the situational model of Hersey & Blanchard (1973) and the conflict management model of Thomas & Kilmann (2002), with the purpose of comparing the styles of leaders with greater results in productivity with the styles of leaders with greater possibilities of development. Method: case study. The techniques for obtain-ing information are closed public dissemination surveys based on the model of Thomas & Kil-mann (2002). And for leadership styles the surveys of Hersey & Blanchard (1973) will be used. Research question: ¿What are the leadership styles and intervention in the conflict preferred by the leaders who have had greater results in productivity in comparison with the leaders who pre-sent greater possibilities of improvement in productivity? Results: Significant differences were found between the two groups studied. The Dream Team group with better results preferred the persuasive leadership style (S2) with support in the delegative (S4); To intervene in the conflict, this group used the competition style supported by the evidence.
