Publicación Modelo de adopción de transformación digital para Pymes(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Solís Durango, Oscar Andrés; Tabares Betancur, Marta Silvia del SocorroIn recent years, SMEs have faced an accelerated digital transformation due to the benefits it brings to corporate resilience. However, this has not been easy, as it must be accompanied by a strategic process that involves cultural, organizational and technological changes at the corporate level. This article presents a digital transformation adoption model for SMEs made up of three components: organizational readiness, technological adoption, and cultural change; the model is based on the enterprise architecture discipline - TOGAF framework, and the COPRAS method. To achieve this, a literature review was carried out that allowed characterizing the digital transformation adoption processes for SMEs; this was complemented with a survey that allowed understanding the challenges, capabilities, opportunities and obstacles that SMEs face during this process. Once the model was defined, its possible adoption was validated among the participants of the initial survey. The results showed that, according to the components of the model, companies prioritize as initial capabilities: organizational impact, technological adoption, information security, comfort in using technology, technological talent and support from management that prioritize the metrics: ROI, cost reduction, information technology infrastructure, availability, leadership management and adaptation to change. Finally, it can be concluded in general that SMEs are willing to adopt and adapt a digital transformation process supported by TOGAF and COPRAS, since by being able to measure capabilities early, the model allows them to accelerate the digital transformation process in a more comprehensive and disciplined way.Publicación Comparativa de tiempos de respuesta : Graphql vs Rest con grandes volúmenes de datos(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Ramos García, Miguel Fernando; Correa Botero, DanielIn application development, the performance efficiency of web services is essential due to its direct impact on loading speed, scalability and end-user experience. Previous research has explored web service communication technologies such as REST and GraphQL, without reaching a consensus on which one handles large data transfers more efficiently. The challenge is to determine which of these two web services communication technologies, REST or GraphQL provide faster response times for large data volume requests. To this end, it is proposed to compare both technologies under controlled conditions to identify which one offers better performance. The results of this study aim to provide clear guidance to those designing and developing applications, allowing them to choose the web services communication technology that best suits their needs and improves their users' experience.Publicación Comparativa de tiempos de respuesta: Graphql vs Rest con grandes volúmenes de datos(Universidad EAFIT, 2024-11-25) Ramos García, Miguel Fernando; Correa Botero, DanielIn application development, the performance efficiency of web services is essential due to its direct impact on loading speed, scalability and end-user experience. However, the BIM methodology has been developed worldwide, which is a solution to generate better practices in construction projects and in this way be able to generate a positive impact for both construction companies and clients. SMEs in the construction sector are lagging behind in technological implementations that generate value, which causes losses, conflicts and other negative impacts on their projects. That is why this research proposal aims to carry out a study that allows us to understand and identify the practices implemented by construction SMEs to develop their projects, in order to then be able to propose innovative practices that generate value in construction SMEs. Construction SMEs are the majority in their sector, which means that the positive impacts generated in them impact the entire sector and the country as they are important contributors to the GDP. This document has been structured in sections that allow us to understand the problems that exist in SMEs in the construction sector; demonstrating the importance of addressing this issue and being able to positively impact SMEs in the construction sector; relating the knowledge currently developed on the subject to be addressed; goals were set to solve the problem through a methodology that allows us to comply with what was proposed.Ítem Análisis comparativo de asentamientos mediante teorías simplificadas y métodos numéricos, calibrados con lecturas de campo, para una edificación de 24 pisos en la ciudad de Montería - Córdoba(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) González Arteaga, David Jesús; Prieto Salazar, Jorge AlonsoPublicación Marco de referencia para la adopción de tecnologías digitales en los hospitales públicos del departamento de Antioquia(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Berrío Hoyos, Iván Darío, IVAN; Tabares Betancur, Marta SilviaThe adoption of digital technologies in public hospitals is essential to improve operational efficiency, optimize resources, and enhance the quality of patient care. However, in developing countries like Colombia, this process does not progress with the necessary speed or appropriate methods. Through a literature review and a survey conducted in 30 public hospitals in the Department of Antioquia, technological adoption issues and the lack of a guiding framework were identified. In response to this situation, a five-phase reference framework—Evaluation, Prioritization, Sequencing, Planning, and Monitoring—is proposed, incorporating tools such as evaluation matrices, prioritization schemes, and KPIs to guide a progressive and flexible adoption process. The technological adoption framework was designed in alignment with the Colombian normative models MRAE, MGGTI, MSPI, and MGRSD. To verify the framework's functionality, a use case was developed at Hospital San Miguel, demonstrating how it guides each phase to lead the hospital from an initial level of technological adoption to higher levels. Health institutions can develop similar use cases using the proposed framework, thereby facilitating an orderly and adaptable technological adoption that meets their specific needs. Finally, the framework was validated through a survey directed at IT managers and executives of public hospitals in Antioquia, who expressed positive acceptance and recognized its utility for identifying and addressing technological gaps. The results highlighted opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs, despite current limitations in infrastructure and budget.Publicación Formulación método rigidez con funciones de Green para vigas Euler Bernoulli sobre fundación flexibles de dos parámetros(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Ossa Gómez, Julián Esteban; Molina Villegas, Juan CamiloPublicación Análisis estocástico de los tiempos de consolidación considerando la variabilidad espacial de los parámetros hidromecánicos del suelo(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Pizarro Fernández, Jesús David; Ruiz Restrepo, Daniel FelipePublicación Permanent deformation behavior in coarse granular soils under repeated loading in the Atlantic department(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Brochero Cortés, Jorge Luis; Vidal Valencia, JuliánThis article aims to analyze the behavior of results in coarse granular unbound soils (SGGNL) type subbase according to the Shakedown concept, the physical and dynamic tests to determine the response of this material by means of the triaxial test of repeated load for two types of materials of equal specification, but with different characteristics in their results, establishing the test conditions, especially in the volume for all the prepared samples to be the same, the stress states, the effect of saturation ranging from 50 to 100% and subjecting them to a limited number of 5000 cycles. The influence of these in relation to some physical characteristics, such as void ratio, granulometry. This type of response is analyzed under the Skakedown criteria, confirming that it is valid to evaluate the behavior that plays an important role in the operation of the pavement structure and thus know the real parameters of permanent deformation to which this type of materials can be subjected and prevent them from collapsing. The results of the behavior with different degrees of saturation cause an impact on the samples, because the permanent deformations increase directly proportional to this effect when subjected to cyclic loads, being classified on the range of line A or 1 (Plastic Shakedown), making it a material with a greater response without collapsing.Publicación Marco de implementación de laboratorios de programación aplicado a cursos introductorios de programación para estudiantes universitarios(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Nieto García, Agustín; Correa Botero, Daniel; Vallejo Correa, Paola AndreaIn the current landscape, programming is becoming increasingly relevant, and its teaching has expanded beyond traditional computer science disciplines. This growth has led to the inclusion of introductory programming courses in a variety of university programs, addressing the growing need for digital skills. Learning to program involves developing problem-solving skills and algorithmic thinking, which require effective tools and adequate support for students. However, selecting appropriate tools can be challenging due to the plethora of options available. This study focuses on analyzing and proposing a framework for the implementation of programming labs in university contexts, aiming to facilitate the selection and application of more suitable teaching tools.Publicación Correlación entre los índices de sobreesfuerzo y los resultados de un análisis no lineal estático para una estructura de concreto reforzado(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Alzate Sánchez, Augusto; Botero Palacio, Juan CarlosTwo hypothetical structures of different heights are proposed, designed using moment-resistant reinforced concrete frame structural systems. The dimensions of the structures were selected so that they complied with the normative limits of mezzanine drifts, using the spectrum of design accelerations. In both structures, the exact amount of steel required in the design was installed to ensure that the overstress rates of the structural elements were close to unity and to ensure that demand was equal to capacity. In addition, a static nonlinear analysis was carried out to determine the capacity curve of the structures and the displacements associated with the collapse condition were obtained. Subsequently, the levels of spectral demand were increased for each of the structures under study, so that they reached the collapse displacement, which made it possible to evaluate the overstress indices associated with the failure of the structure. Finally, these values were correlated with the capacity curves. For shorter structures, it was determined that overstress indices greater than a value of 1.9, both in columns and beams, are associated with the collapse of the structure. In the tallest buildings, it was discovered that overstress values close to 1.9 in beams and 1.2 in columns indicate the collapse condition.Publicación Influencia de la distribución espacial de modelos de amenaza y exposición en la evaluación del riesgo sísmico urbano(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Betancur Calle, Juan Felipe; Acevedo Jaramillo, Ana BeatrizUrban seismic risk assessment, which involves estimating the consequences that earthquakes may generate in a given location, is associated with numerous uncertainties. These uncertainties affect the results and may lead to underestimations or overestimations of risk metrics, including economic and human losses. For researchers, policymakers, and financial entities, obtaining the most accurate results while minimizing errors is crucial. Seismic risk assessment requires a model of the local seismic hazard (intensities that earthquakes can generate), a description of the assets of interest in the area (exposure model), and knowledge of the susceptibility of exposed elements to damage (vulnerability model). The spatial distribution of hazard and exposure models influences risk results, as it determines the ground motion intensities that exposed elements will experience. This spatial distribution, known as aggregation, refers to grouping multiple assets within a single location for risk assessment. Consequently, all assets within the same aggregation unit are subjected to the same level of seismic hazard, altering the actual distances to seismic sources. Thus, model aggregation impacts the estimation of consequences such as economic losses and human casualties. This study evaluates the influence of the spatial distribution of hazard and exposure models on urban seismic risk assessment, applied to three cities in Antioquia: Medellín, Bello, and Girardota. The evaluation was conducted through a sensitivity analysis of seismic risk results, considering different aggregation units and comparing economic loss metrics, fatalities, and the number of buildings with complete damage using OpenQuake. The results indicate that the level of aggregation in the exposure model and the method used to select soil characteristics significantly influence the obtained estimates. A higher resolution in exposure models and a detailed soil classification model provide more accurate estimates. Notably, a differentiated soil classification model shows acceptable results even when the exposure model has very low resolution. A.S(Universidad EAFIT, 2024-10-17) ECHEVERRY PATERNINA, RONALDO; Villegas Lopez, Juan SantiagoThe purpose of the research is to design an optimization plan for the industrial assets, bridge cranes and the steam network of the company ECHEVERRI INVERSIONES CAMEL S.A.S, through a diagnosis of the efficiency of the bridge crane and steam network of the company using performance indicators. and economy that will allow the development of a plan and an optimization proposal that contains recommendations for use and maintenance.
