Ítem A NAIRU assessment: an applied case to Colombia’s labor markets(Universidad EAFIT, 2015) Molina Velásquez, NicolásGiven the discrepancy over the optimum levels of employment for Colombia, this research targets both, the national and urban, Non-Accelerating Inflation Rate of Unemployment (NAIRU) for the Colombian markets -- In doing so, there is a strong pertinence in estimating the constant NAIRU through raw and minimally altered data and providing the reader with a complete brief of the theory in which the model is founded -- The introduction of supply shocks is considered to attain improved estimations and a more reliable assessment of the NAIRU to those that have previously been attempted -- The backbone of the analysis is conducted through the relationship established by the Phillips curve from 2001 until 2015Ítem A new institutional approach to economic growth(Universidad EAFIT, 2013) Arbeláez Toro, Camilo; Jetter, MichaelÍtem Acerca de la Nueva Medición de Desempeño Municipal (MDM): medidas de política pública para mejorar el desempeño de los municipios del departamento de Antioquia(Universidad EAFIT, 2018) Zapata Tamayo, Laura; Álvarez López, Carolina; Naranjo Giraldo,Manuel AlejandroÍtem Acing the Test : Educational Effects of the SaberEs Test Preparation Program in Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Uribe Botero, Pablo; Saravia Gómez, Estefanía; Posso Suárez, Christian Manuel; Posso Suárez, Christian ManuelÍtem Actualidad y futuro del programa BEPS : relevancia en el sistema pensional(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Tamayo Villa, Juan Pablo; Arango Escobar, David Andrés; Hurtado Rendón, ÁlvaroThis text presents an analysis of the BEPS system in Colombia as a pension savings option and its role within the pension system. The methodology employed involves projecting the BEPS system in various scenarios, observing its evolution since its inception, and considering the proportion of informality. The study also delves into the key features of the BEPS program and its significance in the context of pension reform. The motivation behind this work is to assess the importance of BEPS within the Colombian pension system, particularly in light of a potential pension system reform.Ítem Acuerdos comerciales CAN y G3 : impactos en el mercado textil colombiano 2000 – 2005(2007) Castaño Rodríguez, Catalina; Peláez Garavito, Daniel; Díez Ruiz, José IgnacioÍtem ¿Afecta la corrupción a la productividad? Evidencia a nivel de firma(Universidad EAFIT, 2015) Echeverri Restrepo, Daniel; Moreno Patiño, Sebastián; Canavire Bacarreza, Gustavo JavierÍtem ¿Agrega valor el uso de la metodología Shrinkage en la estimación de la matriz de covarianzas para el mercado accionario colombiano?(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Herrera Passos, Tomás; Agudelo Rueda, Diego AlonsoThis article proposes to estimate the covariance matrix of stock returns in Colombian case by an optimally weighted average of two existing estimators the sample covariance matrix and singleindex covariance matrix proposed by Sharpe (1963) following the methodology of Ledoit and Wolf (2003). This method is generally known as Shrinkage, it is standard in decision theory and in empirical Bayesian statistics and allows to improve the calculation of the central values of the estimate. In this case we analyze this methodology for Colombian stocks returns listed at BVC (Bolsa de Valores de Colombia) and participants in the COLCAP composition from January 15, 2008 to May 2, 2019. We have found that the sample covariance matrix is superior in estimating risk than the structural methodology (based on Single Index Model) and Shrinkage, in any type of portfolio composition. However, when estimating the covariance matrix through the Shrinkage methodology in the portfolios of minimum risk and equally weighted have been observed a performance practically equal to the conventional (sample) methodology.Ítem La agroindustria bananera como motor del desarrollo socioeconómico de la región de Urabá en los últimos 20 años(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Posada González, Samuel; Quirós Arango, Luis FernandoÍtem Un análisis comparado del embarazo adolescente en Colombia y América Latina. Metanálisis de literatura en latinoamérica(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Restrepo Cardona, Isabel; Cantet, María NataliaÍtem Análisis de competitividad de la piña en fresco en Colombia: período 2005-2016(Universidad EAFIT, 2017) Roldán Salazar, Cristian; Yepes Vivas, Juan Santiago; Gómez Cifuentes, Alfonso de JesúsÍtem Análisis de eficiencia técnico productiva del sector agrícola en Colombia : el papel del riego(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Vélez Colorado, Laura; Molina Guzmán, Luis AlfredoThe agricultural sector and its technical and productive efficiency have been widely studied from different approaches; the present work is based on a linear and correlation analysis between the capital factors (which are broken down into different criteria) and the production per hectare in each Colombian municipality, initially reviewing the theoretical and literature on the subject and giving a general account of the historical development of the agricultural sector in Colombia, from colonial times to the present. Next, an empirical analysis is made between the quantity produced per municipality and the different capital factors (gravity irrigation, machinery, technical assistance, drip irrigation, manual phytosanitary, chemical fertilizer, chemical phytosanitary, agricultural amendment). In order to study the causality of these relationships, an Ordinary Least Squares methodology (since the Cobb Douglas function is not linear in terms of parameters) and stochastic frontiers are used to estimate technical inefficiency. The empirical results show that all capital factors are important for agricultural production since they were statistically significant at least at 5% and irrigation and land suitability are the most relevant; furthermore, the hypothesis that the agricultural sector in Colombia is quite inefficient was tested.Ítem Análisis de factores económicos en la cobertura del régimen contributivo del sistema de pensiones en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Zapata Ochoa, Pablo; Ochoa Espinal, Esteban; Quirós Arango, Luis FernandoThe study aims to investigate how unemployment, inflation, employment rate, and minimum wage in Colombia can affect people's decision to contribute to the pension system, relating the proposal to increase coverage to the "Cambio por la Vejez" reform proposal. Through VAR models and an analysis of economic variables, it was found that unemployment and employment rate significantly impact short and medium-term contributions to the system, while the minimum wage does not show a significant relationship. These findings give importance to effective unemployment control to increase pension system coverage.Ítem Análisis de la dinámica de la política monetaria en Colombia durante los últimos 20 años : una aproximación FAVAR(2010) Londoño, Andrés Felipe; Tamayo, Jorge AndrésÍtem Análisis de la estructura de capital de las grandes empresas del sector de alimentos en Colombia (1999-2003)(2005-08) Pérez Rave, Ana María; Acevedo Echeverri, Carlos AlbertoÍtem Análisis de la evolución de los precios de apartamentos nuevos en Medellín durante el período 2012-2022 : un índice de precios con enfoque hedónico(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Díaz Meza, Lina Marcela; Jaramillo Gaitán, Juan Nicolás; Luján Jaramillo, Alejandra MaríaÍtem Análisis de la incidencia de las tarifas de internet banda ancha, en la penetración del servicio en el sector residencial del área metropolitana de Medellín, en el periodo 2002 – 2007(Universidad EAFIT, 2008) Arrieta Cohen, Mercedes Carmen; Álvarez Peinado, Ruby Gislem; López Álvarez, Gustavo AdolfoÍtem Análisis de la movilidad social en Colombia durante las últimas dos décadas(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Mejía Molina, Cristian Alexander; García Montoya, Juan Camilo; Goda, ThomasThis research is based on the realization of a social mobility index through intergenerational education, understood as that which associates the educational level of a current generation with its immediately preceding generation. This is justified by the reality that Colombia is currently experiencing in terms of inequality and poverty, being the second most unequal country in Latin America, as measured by the Gini coefficient. Through the following work, the behavior of such social mobility in the different regions of the country was analyzed, in addition to a differentiation by education quantiles, which allowed identifying characteristics of each population group. In general, it is found that social mobility in Colombia is low, however, it has improved in the last decade, and the need for a longitudinal survey is also mentioned, which would allow to better capture this phenomenon, since the current methodologies have many limitations.Ítem Análisis de la pérdida de alimentos en las primeras etapas de la cadena de suministros del agro.
