This trend brings many challenges to understand its implementation and function in the internal processes of the company and its role in external processes, to bring the value proposition to the benefit of the consumer. This issue has gained importance in recent years as tourism has grown exponentially in the country, driven by greater air connectivity and an increase in foreign visitors. This growth has created a multiplier effect in sectors such as hospitality, transportation, and commerce. However, the effects of tourism are not solely positive, as seasonality, inflation, and the overexploitation of resources affect the economic and social stability of these regions, causing discontent among residents due to the externalities of tourism. Consequently, a thorough study is necessary due to the lack of research and information on the subject. An econometric panel data model will be developed to evaluate the relationship between tourism and GDP per capita, aiming to determine whether this activity impacts the purchasing power of residents in different regions, considering variables such as nationalities, reasons for travel, and GDP per capita. This research seeks to determine how tourism contributes to long-term economic growth and the thresholds at which its positive effects may reverse. The results will provide an empirical basis for decision-making in sustainable tourism policies, aiming to maximize the economic benefits of tourism while minimizing its negative impacts.Ítem Diagnóstico del potencial natural y cultural de El Carmen de Viboral : una mirada al Plan Local de Turismo (2016-2025) desde el rol desempeñado por los actores del sector público(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Gómez Ramírez, Hugo Fernando; Cuadros Londoño, Sebastián Andrés; Escobar Villegas, Juan CamiloGiven the evident scarcity of non-renewable natural resources, the different municipalities of the department and the country have found it necessary to bet on the consolidation of sustainable productive activities, among which tourism stands out. One of these municipalities has been El Carmen de Viboral, a territorial entity that is working on the scheduling and construction of authority and planning instruments that help tourism emerge as the main dynamizer of the local economy. For this, of course, it has been necessary to start from the recognition of a series of limitations that have slowed down this progress, such as, for example, the issue of political wills, the little appropriation of the territory that is evident in the inhabitants and the insufficient implementation of the instruments existing. Facts that undoubtedly, as will be seen in the work, represent the starting point for the formulation and implementation of new, more effective actions in the fulfillment of the purpose.Ítem El inglés como clave para el impulso del turismo en Envigado(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Yepes García , Luisa Fernanda; Ruíz Escobar, María Camila; Benjumea Díez, Jhon MiguelÍtem Estimación de la geodiversidad en la cuenca del río Combeima, Ibagué, Tolima, como herramienta para la gestión integral del territorio(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Rondón Olivera, Héctor Rodolfo; Marín Cerón, María IsabelÍtem Estudio de prefactibilidad de un proyecto de rentas a corto y mediano plazo tipo Coliving en la ciudad de Medellín mediante la metodología ONUDI(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Arango Aguilar, Oscar Alejandro; Tobar Guinand, José MauricioCurrently, the concept of coliving emerges as a response to the increasing demand for housing in cities, providing shared and private spaces for those seeking flexibility and social interaction. This model encourages interaction and support among residents, especially for those who are far from their place of origin. Medellín, known for its economic and cultural development, attracts people in search of temporary opportunities, requiring safe and comfortable housing solutions. The study focuses on evaluating the pre-feasibility of a coliving project with short and medium-term rentals in the city of Medellín, using the methodology proposed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for a comprehensive and systematic analysis. The study consists of seven different analyses or sub-studies aimed at determining the viability of the project in an integrated manner. These encompass various themes related to the environment, the sector in which the project is developed, and the business itself. The studies supporting the analysis include the environmental, sectorial and strategic study, the market study, the technical study, the environmental study, the organizational study, the legal study, and the financial and risk study. In the first instance, previous empirical studies are reviewed in order to understand how tourism has contributed to economic growth over time. To quantitatively analyze this relationship, the panel data methodology is used, covering the period from 1995 to 2018; The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate is considered as the dependent variable, while the independent variables are unemployment, inbound tourism expenditure, inflation, and population growth. In the analysis for Latin American countries as a whole, inbound tourism expenditure does not show a significant effect on GDP growth, while in the filtered subset of countries, inbound tourism expenditure is significant and has a direct effect on GDP growth, suggesting that tourism is an important driver of economic growth in these countries. The different results between Latin America as a whole and the filtered countries underscore the importance of analyzing specific contexts to obtain more precise conclusions about significant effects of tourism on economic growth.Ítem Plan de posicionamiento turístico del municipio de Zapatoca, con el fin de mejorar su competitividad como destino turístico del país(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Delgado León, María Alejandra; Rojas de Francisco, Laura Isabel; Giraldo Aristizábal, Juan CamiloThis study stems from the need to improve the competitiveness of Zapatoca as a tourist destination by facing challenges such as lack of recognition, competition with other destinations, the need to diversify its offer, improve the visitor experience, take advantage of its underutilized potential, generate positive economic effects, ensure sustainability and conservation in tourism development, as well as encourage the collaboration and participation of various stakeholders to enrich the process and achieve greater adherence to the proposed strategies. The methodology used to achieve the objectives of this research has a mixed descriptive approach, carrying out an analysis of the current situation of tourism in the municipality, including a review of the existing tourism offer, the identification of the main attractions and tourism resources of the area, as well as an analysis of the demand and profile of visitors. The main result of this research highlights that in the voices of the OTAS's and tourists who participated in the study, there is a highly positive perception of Zapatoca as a desirable tourist destination. This phenomenon underlines the presence of seductive qualities and attractive elements in the place that influence the favorable impression that travelers have of the municipality, being compared to other destinations with higher positioning. Finally, it is concluded that despite having a rich natural, cultural, and architectural heritage, there is a lack of organization of tourism promoters in the municipality and the current offer is focused on two sites of interest, so there are opportunities to promote tourism through digital media that are under- explored.Ítem Plan maestro Agroparque BioSuroeste(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) García Villada, Verónica; Restrepo Echeverri, Alejandro; Bustamante Fernádez, Sebastián; Basombrío, Isabel; Rendón Valencia, Felipe; Gaviria, Angélica; Gómez Aristizábal, Juliana; Ocampo Marín, Luis Miguel; Monsalve Garro, Luz Andrea; Universidad EAFITÍtem Proceso de ASC - PROCESOS DE CAMBIOS SOCIALES Y EMPRESARIALES EN RELACION AL TURISMO EN EL CORREDOR DE AYACUCHO, MEDELLIN DESPUES DE LA CONSTRUCCION DEL TRANVIA(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Mejía-Gil, María Claudia; Universidad EAFITThis work is based on a formative research carried out by the SMART and SIMPRO incubators of the Eafit University and the RERDSA incubator of the University of Antioquia on the social changes that the implementation of the Ayacucho Tram has generated.
