Ítem Aplicaciones de la biónica en proyectos de diseño mecánico(Universidad EAFIT, 2010) Ferrer Gómez, Carolina; Otálvaro Guzmán, Viviana; oÍtem Assembly sequences definition through hierarchical subassembly approach(DELFT UNIV TECHNOLOGY, FAC INDUST DESIGN ENG, 2010-01-01) Gómez, G.O.; Viganò, R.Design processes are leading to the reduction of product development time and costs. This trend applies to the evaluation of function, architecture and high level information as far as possible at early stages of product design in order to allow the designer to compare radically different solutions rather than proceeding with fine tuning of a single option. Specifically, design of assembly processes requires information regarding neighborhood, interfaces and interactions between product components from product architecture definition stage, difficult to reach at early stages of design. Besides, assembly process concerns human interaction which is considered in a subjective way when it is analyzed as a design parameter, enterprise-specific conditions, and many suppositions derived from queries of skilled staff. So, an automated tool working with general abstract information available at early stages of design could be able to present more realistic behavior against methodologies with specific hypotheses and rules. In this work an automated method to find feasible assembly sequences without human intervention, in contrast with several solutions presented by different authors, is proposed. The developed method starts with the acquisition and evaluation of topological information of interaction between components of a discrete mechanical product at the early stages of concept and embodiment design [16], followed by the identification and hierarchical classification of independent minimum level subassemblies until the completion of the assembly procedure of the system obtaining at least one feasible assembly sequence. In this way an automated tool which yields a finite discrete number of feasible assembly sequences from all possible assembly solutions, is presented. © Organizing Committee of TMCE 2010 Symposium.Publicación Colombia’s Country-Specific Advantages in the internationalization of BPO Multinationals and the risk of Artificial Intelligence Job Replacement(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Giraldo-Mayo, Daniel; Tamayo Duque, Edward AndrésPublicación Consistent approximations of the control - Affine systems with bounded uncertainties: Application to the controlled lotka - Volterra dynamics(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2019-01-01) Azhmyakov V.; Londono C.; Osorio P.; Rojas A.; Puerta M.E.; Trujillo L.A.G.; Universidad EAFIT. Departamento de Ciencias; Matemáticas y AplicacionesOur contribution is devoted to constructive approximations of a wide class of the modern control systems, namely, of the general control-affine dynamic models. We consider the generic tracking control problem associated with the control-affine systems in the presence of bounded uncertainties. The conventional linearization based solution approach to the tracking problem under consideration is finally refined and extended by a novel analytic errors estimation technique. Theoretic results developed in our contribution are applied to a practically motivated example of the controlled Lotka-Volterra system. © 2019 IEEE.Ítem Desarrollo del software Audin (Sistema para la auditoría integral)(Universidad EAFIT, 2010) Montoya Lopera, Diego Armando; Cano Cadavid, Andrés FelipeEn el presente trabajo se muestra todo el proceso llevado a cabo para la implementación de una aplicación web destinada a servir como apoyo a un curso de educación continua dictado en la Universidad EAFIT en modalidad virtual y a una serie de cursos presenciales que también usarán la aplicación como herramienta de apoyo en sus contenidos, todos estos cursos están bajo la dirección académica del departamento de contaduría pública -- Se detalla todo el proceso de desarrollo de la herramienta, enmarcada en cada una de las fases que componen el ciclo de vida software, comenzando con la elicitación y especificación de los requisitos, pasando por el análisis y diseño hasta llegar a su posterior implementación y despliegueÍtem Design and Construction of a Mechatronic Reactor for the Growth of Thin Films by the Dip Coating Technique(Universidad EAFIT, 2014-06-24) Velásquez, A A; Urquijo, J P; Gutiérrez, Y; Universidad EAFIT; Universidad de AntioquiaÍtem Design of a competences based teaching model supported in the integration of repositories and LMS platforms for the automatic control of processes course(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2015-01-01) Gomez, G.I.C.; Diaz, T.A.G.; Zea, R.C.M.; Zapata, R.L.F.; Universidad EAFIT. Departamento de Ingeniería de Sistemas; I+D+I en Tecnologías de la Información y las ComunicacionesThe Automatic Process Control course is part of the Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering and Production Engineering programs, offered by EAFIT University (Medellin, Colombia). This course has had a number of reforms in recent years, from two academic spaces to one that contains all the content and features them from theoretical and practical components. With this transformation, was generated the need to reduce the time commitment to each of the thematic, causing learning issues in students. For this reason, we have proposed a new reform in the course through the implementation of a content management model based on competences and supported by the integration of repositories and LMS platforms. This model seeks to train students in the skills defined by the courses and because of this, it is important that the learning process provide mechanisms to validate the skill level of each student, taking into account the outcome of the validation should correspond directly to the skills acquired in the training process. To support this model, there are technological tools as platforms for learning management and learning object repositories that support the online teaching and learning processes, and support the use of standards, generating interoperability, reusability, adaptability and scalability content. © 2014 IEEE.Publicación Design of a competences based teaching model supported in the integration of repositories and LMS platforms for the automatic control of processes course(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2015-01-01) Gomez, G.I.C.; Diaz, T.A.G.; Zea, R.C.M.; Zapata, R.L.F.; Universidad EAFIT. This trend is primarily driven by the difficulty of justifying, approving, or allocating budgets for high capital (CAPEX) investments, as the savings benefits are not immediately visible and are not tangible in the short term. Without incentives through rates or penalties for excessive use of energy resources, it becomes an even greater challenge to find a pathway for developing business and increasing sales of energy-efficient compressed air systems. For companies with a differentiated technology portfolio, this context underscores the need to develop sales, marketing, and communication tactics to build trust and leverage market needs, such as during drought seasons, when the price per kilowatt-hour rises significantly. This market study aims to capture the voice of customers by using an exploratory approach with a qualitative method of in-depth, semi-structured interviews. The goal is to create a commercial narrative, a marketing strategy, and a communication plan that align with the desires and needs of technical and financial decision-makers in the target market segments for the commercialization of highly energy-efficient compressed air systems in central Colombia. That is why five interviews were conducted in different companies in the Medellin sectors, which will allow us to know the perception of digital transformation and how companies are adopting these new trends that come with the 4.0 revolution. The above are complemented by a guide that allows you to make a checklist of the criteria that a process must meet to be carried out, for this purpose an express assessment of the processes that will help the organization to determine which processes is feasible to automate, which are due improve and which is better to do without. This model is implemented and developed in a specific case (that of a telecommunications company). Through a sharing of some of the criteria evidenced in the interviews, some other variables are analyzed, such as the emergence of new emerging technologies and their central role in the change in process automation. In addition, the impact that human derobotization can generate within business models and in general in companies or organizations is analyzed. The implementation of technological platforms in human resources processes has transformed the way organizations manage their talent, enhancing both efficiency and strategic decision-making. These tools enable the automation and optimization of processes such as recruitment, selection, performance management, and professional development. This ensures that the right people are placed in the right roles, based on accurate and up-to-date data. Furthermore, technology facilitates access to relevant information, which drives the growth and development of human capital. The study highlights that technology not only improves operational efficiency but also strengthens the relationship between employees and the organization. The implementation of these tools allows for a more personalized and closer approach to management, addressing the needs and expectations of employees. However, the adoption of technology also presents challenges, such as the need to adapt existing processes and the resistance to change among staff. It is essential for organizations to conduct a thorough analysis of their needs and select the appropriate tools to maximize benefits. In conclusion, technological tools are essential for modern human talent management, providing competitive advantages to organizations that implement them effectively. This study underscores the importance of technology in transforming human resources processes and its positive impact on organizational performance.
