The main aim of this study is to explore the impact of the use of networks on the development of entrepreneurial orientation and company growth. Considering the possibility to control possible biases and following suggestions made in previous studies, we have used objective measures of performance in this study. To analyze the data, we applied models of structural equations. The results indicate a positive impact in terms of the use of networks in the development of entrepreneurial orientation and they confirm the positive and significant effect of entrepreneurial orientation on business growth. Finally, they point out the direct and indirect effect of the use of networks on the growth of smes. © 2015, Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Using information from the GEM database – Colombia 2010 and 2011, this study investigates the mutual effects between the owner-manager’s commitment to innovation and the export behavior of companies. Logistic and Ordinal regression models are used to test the proposed hypotheses in this study. The main findings of this study suggest that the owner-manager’s commitment to innovation is an important booster for exports, as well as for increasing sales abroad. Furthermore, the results suggest that the export propensity, in turn, increases the likelihood of involvement of owner-managers to innovate in Colombia. © Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Facultad de Economía y Negocios.Ítem Simultaneous effects between innovativeness and export behavior in small firms: evidence from Spain(EDWARD ELGAR PUBLISHING LTD, 2015-01-01) Martins, Izaias; Rialp-Criado, Alex; Vaillant, Yancy[No abstract available]
