To achieve it, a methodological design focused on structured quantitative aspects based on a matrix was constructed, with a scheme whose database were general and specific objectives operationalized through information requirements that were compensated by using techniques of literature reviews for the management of relevant information referring to a construction of a model of continuous improvement of the administrative and financial process. Along the journey, various theoretical and conceptual approaches were explored, with the purpose of finding referents to be used as a starting point. With the found elements, and due to the analysis carried out, a model of continuous improvement was constructed with a proactive approach, that points out a route in which are suggested tools that the ABC organization can use, to carry out the process beyond the fulfilling of the requirements.Publicación Definición del proceso de obras por la administración en la secretaría de infraestructura física del distrito de Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Escudero Ramírez, Jorge Eliécer; Montoya Hernández, Ángela María; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaThis research arises from the need to design a process that regulates the traceability of works executed under direct administration by the Medellín District. Its main objective is to highlight the importance of adequately documenting the maintenance interventions in public spaces, which are crucial for the city. This new process is intended to become a management tool that facilitates actions in accordance with public management policies, such as institutional planning, integrity, transparency, and internal control guidelines. For its development, the Integrated Public Management Model (MIGP) was taken into consideration, as it incorporates public management policies and enables public entities and organizations to focus their management on results, addressing community needs and solving problems. The initiative for this new process emerged from the author's need, which, as a public servant, is responsible to lead activities for the Medellín District that, until the completion of this research, were not visible to the district administration. The process resulting from this research is summarized in a management tool consisting of two components: a scheduling and control matrix and a Power BI dashboard. These complementary components compile and visualize the information in the form of concrete and relevant data that had not been previously monitored or managed by the administration. These data and indicators reveal the significant importance of these works executed by the Secretariat of Physical Infrastructure of the Medellín Mayor’s Office, using its own resources such as heavy machinery and transportation, materials, and official workers' crews. The implementation of this tool facilitated carrying on a concrete analysis of the management of works under direct administration, enabling leaders and executives to support operational and managerial decision-making; likewise, it will allow the district administration to take relevant information from these new data sources for accountability reporting that, as a public entity, it applies to the different stakeholders.Publicación Diagnóstico de la madurez de la PMO conformada por las empresas de construcción Mejía Acevedo S. A. S. y Comercializadora SYE(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Arias Cely, Andrés Fernando; Arias Giraldo, María Piedad; Henao Arango, María CeciliaThe construction sector has been mainly one of the sectors that has had the greatest reception and adherence to project management, this due to the considerable number of positions, roles or fronts of activities that intervene in the execution of projects. The degree work developed in this document has as its main objective to carry out a diagnosis of the level of maturity of the PMO of two companies in the construction sector in the city of Medellín, Antioquia; such as Mejía Acevedo S. A. S. and Distribuidora SYE. For this development we will take as a base the definitions of the PMI in its OPM3 model. The model evaluates the maturity of the project management office that both companies have together, providing best practices that generate value. It is carried out considering eight (8) leaders who, through interviews focused on the Project dimension, respond at process levels (standardization, measurement, control and improvement) as well as an interview based on principles and behaviors such as the performance domains provided by the PMBOK® (PMI, 2017). The findings allow us to conclude that the PMO has a highly level of maturity, in which the work and activities of the projects are integrated into the organization´s strategy. Likewise, there are independent, self-disciplined teams that respond to results. Best practices are also identified. Focused mainly on strengthening communication and that will allow them to potentiate the scope of the projects. The result of performance domains highlights that the project work has a fluid and clear communication for the execution and alignment of the tasks where it is controlled and fed back with agility to make efficient definitions.Publicación Diseño de la cadena de valor de la Vicerrectoría de Aprendizaje de la Universidad EAFIT(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Gómez Osorio, Alejandra; Giraldo Hernández, Gina María; Agudelo Londoño, VanessaIn this degree work, the value chain of the Vice-Rector's Office of Learning at EAFIT University was designed, recognizing the importance of having this tool clearly and defined as a fundamental pillar for effective process operation. To design the value chain, a methodology was used that involved detailed analysis of the processes, resources and relationships within the Vice-Rector's Office, as well as the identification of the key elements that contribute to the achievement of its mission and objectives. Through the application of process-based organizational design techniques, a comprehensive model was outlined that describes how the Vice-Rector's Office adds value to its students, professors and administrators; and also to companies, enterprises and public systems. It was concluded that having a defined value chain aligned with the institutional strategy is essential to guarantee the effectiveness and relevance of the Vice-Rector for Learning in the current educational context. Variables y retos que influyen en el proceso de continuidad con sus negocios(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Sierra Restrepo, Natalia Estefania; Escandón Rodríguez, María Camila; Ramírez Morales, Jorge Enrique; Betancur Hurtado, Carlos MarioThe current document proposes to develop a management guide that will include different chapters with tools focused on training and educating entrepreneur mothers in a simple and practical way, in how to apply the organizational management tools, described in the guide, to be applied in their businesses. The chapters of the guide and the tools contained on it will be defined by two or three main failure factors that will be identified after carrying out the market research, which will be focused on entrepreneurial mothers from Colombia, belonging to the Mompreneurs group. These factors are possibly connected with those found in the conceptual framework: financial, organizational, marketing, environment and operational, however the field work will define the factors to develop. This academic effort has two approaches. The first is a social component that seeks the reduction of the high rate of business failure that our country is experiencing today, especially to this population of entrepreneurial mothers who according to statistics is one of the most affected. The second, is to achieve through the tools provided, their businesses manage to survive or maximize current benefits.Publicación Guía para el desarrollo e implementación de un mapa de procesos en una constructora del sector privado en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Romero Palacio, Daniel; Massey Hurtado, Juan Carlos; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaÍtem Identificación de Pérdidas en el Proceso Productivo de la Construcción(Universidad EAFIT, 2003) Botero Botero, Luis Fernando; Álvarez Villa, Martha Eugenia; Universidad EAFITPublicación Lecciones aprendidas del proyecto para seguimiento técnico y apoyo administrativo al inventario de los bienes inmuebles propiedad del Distrito Especial de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación de Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Gómez Hoyos, Natacha; Gómez Salazar, Elkin ArcesioPublicación Mapeo y rediseño de la estructura de procesos operativos el caso de Elemar Support SAS(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Laguna Villero, Silvia Catalina; Bermúdez Carvajal, Sebastián; Escalante Gómez, Juan EstebanThis degree work focuses on the mapping and redesigning of the structure of operational processes in the company Elemar Support SAS. For this purpose, research with a qualitative approach, descriptive scope, and non-experimental design is developed, which is analyzed, through five (5) steps (1 - Identify the products, operations, and actors involved, 2 - Carry out the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) of the current state, 3 - Analyze the current state of the process, 4 - Design the Value Stream Mapping of the future state, 5 - Implement an action plan to improve the processes) the performance conditions associated with exporting. The initial mapping revealed the existence of multiple reprocesses, the duplication of work, and the participation of different actors (which makes clear communication difficult throughout the chain, increases the complexity in terms of synchronization, and demands higher levels of control and monitoring to avoid errors derived from the intervention). Under this framework, improvement opportunities were identified that led to a work plan for the firm's critical processes. Specifically, and with a view to activities associated with exports, a centralized data management mechanism was created to which all the actors involved have access. In this way, the flow conditions along the canal were improved and the constant monitoring and control tasks were reduced.Publicación Mejorar la productividad en una empresa de servicios logístico en la ciudad de Medellín por medio de la aplicación de técnicas de mejora continua y el uso de herramientas tecnológicas(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Pérez Cespedes, Jorge Mauricio; García Medina, Juan David; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaPublicación Modelo de gestión y medición de la productividad de los procesos administrativos para la empresa de energía del Quindío – EDEQ(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Bautista Muriel, John Fredy; Burbano Cabrera, Paola Andrea; Escalente Gómez, Juan EstebanPublicación Optimización del proceso operativo en una empresa dedicada al transporte de hidrocarburos por ductos en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Ramírez Cáceres, Belman Ernesto; Escalante Gómez, Juan EstebanPublicación Propuesta de mejora del proceso del manejo de residuos de aguas industriales en planta de tratamiento en una empresa operadora de hidrocarburos(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Vargas Peña, Jenifer Lorena; Hernández López, Juan David; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaThis thesis proposes an improvement of the internal operational process of the industrial water waste transfer and treatment facility by comparing costs associated with the existing process with the costs associated with an equipment implementation for improving such process to reduce operating costs and adds value. For this purpose, historical and current data base of the process, technical documents of the company, information from contractors and internal programs/software of the company including production information, forecasting and economic rates were taken into consideration.
