To achieve this, an in-depth investigation was conducted based on interviews with company owners, directors, clients, and industry experts. The methodology involved the collection and qualitative analysis of data through recorded and transcribed interviews. These interviews were focused on exploring market needs, expectations, and challenges, as well as identifying competitive opportunities and key differentiating factors. The results demonstrate that niche specialization, the ability to offer customized solutions, and alignment with client expectations are crucial differentiators. The United States, as a global leader in smart manufacturing, represents a strategic market with significant projected growth in areas such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). However, several challenges were identified, including cultural adaptation, regulatory barriers, and the need for a strong local presence. It is concluded that a consultative, client-focused approach, combined with a hybrid strategy of remote execution and local commercial support, optimizes market penetration. Additionally, investments in innovation and strategic marketing strengthen Omnicon's competitiveness.Publicación Estudio de prefactibilidad de una plataforma tecnológica e-commerce para la comercialización de café especial verde en el mercado de Estados Unidos por parte de la Federación Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Pajoy Bastos, Daniel Alejandro; Uribe Marín, Ricardo; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz AmparoThis prefeasibility study evaluates the viability of an e-commerce technology platform for marketing Colombian green specialty coffee in the United States, implemented by the Federación Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia. The objective is to determine the feasibility of this solution as a commercial tool. The methodology developed for this study is an analysis that encompasses the market, technology, organization, and finances. The analysis measures the demand in the United States for Colombian specialty coffee marketed digitally, which allows for differentiation through strategies involving aspects such as traceability and supply chain efficiency. The solution is complemented by an adaptable and scalable CRM integrated with the SAP ERP. The proposed administrative structure allows for the e-commerce platform, customer management, and logistics to create a high-value shopping experience for the buyer. The financial analysis was projected over five years to thoroughly review the feasibility. The result was a positive NPV and an IRR higher than the FNC's cost of capital. The projected net profit is positive from the second year, a characteristic that strengthens the investment decision. The sensitivity analysis determined a dependence on sales volume, for which ongoing monitoring of commercial and financial performance is recommended. The pre-feasibility study showed that the platform is feasible for marketing Colombian green specialty coffee in the United States. Its potential to generate economic value and contribute to the benefit of coffee growers by modernizing the marketing of Colombian coffee is highlighted.Ítem Evaluación comparativa de un portafolio de inversión óptimo mediante el modelo de Markowitz con acciones listadas en el Mercado Global Colombiano y sus pares en Estados Unidos(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Díez Peláez, Sebastián; Cardona Llano, Juan FelipeThis study focuses on the construction and comparison of two portfolios that include the same stocks in both the Colombian Global Market (Mercado Global Colombiano, MGC) and the U.S. market (Mercado estadounidense, ME) during the period 2018-2022 using the Markowitz model. The main objective is to measure the generation of alpha with respect to the portfolio invested directly in the United States. The analysis focused on the comparison of profitability and volatility between both portfolios, for which two types of simulations were carried out: i) considering each year as a single period; and ii) covering a continuous period of five years. The results reveal that the MGC portfolio consistently outperformed its counterpart in terms of profitability, but not in risk. The research showed a challenge related to price dynamics in the MGC, where the value of shares remains constant for successive days, followed by sudden changes that can alter the calculation of simulations and statistics. The study provides valuable insights into the comparative performance of two different markets and highlights the opportunities generated by evaluating portfolios in international terms. Likewise, it proposes topics for future research, particularly addressing the characteristics of the MGC that influence the profitability of consolidated portfolios in said market.
