Publicación Construcción de futuros deseables : el papel del pensamiento de futuros en la gerencia de la innovación organizacional(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Valencia González, Daniela; Villamil Páez, Karen Natalia; Rojas de Francisco, Laura Isabel; Ortiz Padilla, TatianaPublicación Diagnóstico para la sostenibilidad empresarial : una herramienta para contribuir a la generación de valor compartido en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Torres Gutiérrez, Juan Felipe; Álvarez Delgado, SusanaThis thesis aims to develop a methodological tool to support Colombian private-sector companies in transitioning towards sustainable business models through the integration of strategies focused on creating shared value. Based on a literature review and a comparative analysis of thirteen national and international certification standards, a diagnostic questionnaire was designed comprising five key dimensions: governance and sustainable strategy, environmental management and resource efficiency, human capital and labor practices, social impact and community engagement, and innovation and shared value creation. The questionnaire enables organizations to identify their maturity level in sustainability, assess organizational strengths and gaps, and receive specific technical recommendations per dimension. The research is grounded in a robust conceptual framework that interconnects corporate social responsibility, sustainability, social enterprise, and shared value creation, demonstrating their mutual reinforcement and relevance to the Colombian business context. As a result, the study delivers a practical, flexible, and context-sensitive tool applicable to both large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises. This proposal aims to bridge the gap between sustainability discourse and its real-world implementation, contributing to the transformation of traditional business models into more inclusive, responsible, and resilient enterprises.Publicación El Ícaro del Hard Disccount : Justo & Bueno y el precio de volar demasiado alto(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Moreno Suárez, Nicolás; Rosas Riaño, José Sebastián; Vergara Garavito, Judith CeciliaPublicación Estandarización de los reportes de sostenibilidad y su relación con el desempeño financiero en las empresas del Mercado Integrado Latinoamericano (MILA)(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Ruiz Tamayo, David; Charry Rodríguez, Paula Viviana; Téllez Falla, Diego Fernando; Restrepo Ochoa, Diana ConstanzaThis research analyzes the implications for the perception of the quality of sustainability practices assessed through ESG ratings (Environmental, Social and Governance) and the adoption of reporting standards for non-financial information in leading companies in Mercado Integrado Latinoamericano (MILA). It also examines how standardization, homogeneity, and information asymmetry influence the actual valuation of assets and investor perceptions. To address this analysis, a quantitative model was constructed to measure the relationship between good sustainability practices and financial profitability. The methodology involves collecting data from companies in Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Chile that have adopted ESG initiatives, in order to identify patterns and levels of correlation using econometric models. The research seeks to contribute to the literature on sustainability and finance by offering tools for more informed investment decision-making.Publicación Estrategias de sostenibilidad en eventos masivos : marco de trabajo aplicado al foro mundial de datos de las Naciones Unidas(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Rendón Marín, David; Franco Espinosa, Juan David; González-Pérez, María Alejandra; Ruiz Daza, LauraPublicación Estrategias financieras para la optimización de la estructura de costos de la empresa Renting Colombia S. A comprehensive analysis was conducted, encompassing sectoral, technical, legal, environmental, administrative, financial, and risk-related aspects, using the UNIDO methodology. The findings indicate that, although the initiative is not feasible from a strict financial standpoint, it represents a significant social and environmental value, since it contributes to rural sanitation, the protection of water sources, and the achievement of sustainable development goals. The evaluation considered the local context and the non-commercial nature of the project, concluding that its relevance is justified by the collective benefits it generates, beyond monetary returns.Publicación Guía para el diseño y comunicación de estrategias sostenibles, adaptada al sector servicios : caso aplicado en Álvarez Abogados Ambientales S.A.S BIC(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Negrete Godín, Sandra Milena; González López, Santiago; Vélez Montoya, Wolfan; Salazar Quintero, María ClaraAdopting sustainable practices involves a comprehensive commitment that encompasses economic, environmental, and social aspects, and constitutes a fundamental strategy for achieving long-term business competitiveness. Therefore, promoting sustainability across all economic sectors is essential to foster conscious and responsible growth. Based on this premise, this work presents the adaptation of a Guide for the design and communication of sustainable strategies, focused on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the service sector in Colombia. The project was developed by applying the guide in a legal consulting firm specialized in environmental matters, aiming to evaluate its effectiveness, identify potential improvements, and propose adjustments for effective implementation. Through a qualitative case study methodology, the research included a literature review, a pilot test of the guide, and a survey of 30 service-sector SMEs in Medellín and Barranquilla. The results revealed that, although there is interest in sustainability within the sector, barriers such as limited resources, lack of specialized knowledge, and restricted access to information still persist. The pilot test helped identify the strengths and limitations of the guide, leading to proposals for improvements in the tools, as well as the structure and clarity of the instructions. Moreover, it was found that using the guide could generate cost savings for companies and facilitate progress in sustainability processes. This research contributes to corporate sustainability in SMEs by proposing tools adapted to the needs of these businesses and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Publicación Impacto del proyecto seguridad alimentaria en la rentabilidad de una empresa del sector de construcción en Colombia : un análisis de valor compartido y modelos de gestión eficiente(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Romero Vera, Julia Sofía; Rocha Quiñónez, Leticia Gregoria; Díez Benjumea, Jhon MiguelPublicación Incidencia de la financiación en operadores de turismo de naturaleza y su influencia en la calidad de vida de las comunidades indígenas del departamento del Vaupés(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Ramírez Montoya, Tatiana; Ruiz Hernández, Johanna Alexandra; Zapata Giraldo, ValeriaIn the department of Vaupés, particularly in Mitú, nature-based tourism presents a strategic opportunity to drive local economic development. This research examines the impact of financing on the quality of life of indigenous communities, while simultaneously identifying the challenges involved in consolidating tourism activities, reducing territorial disparities, and strengthening financial education. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach, aimed at the discovery, construction, and interpretation of facts, without the intention of generalizing the results. The analysis was structured around five interrelated categories: nature-based tourism, quality of life, financing, indigenous culture, and social equity. Semi-structured interviews and group sessions were carried out with sector stakeholders, complemented by secondary data from the literature. Data collection included open-ended responses, participant observations, and field notes, allowing access to hidden dimensions of the socioeconomic dynamics within indigenous territories. The findings reveal that financing has a positive impact on the quality of life of indigenous communities, particularly when they are organized and guided by clear collective objectives. However, for nature-based tourism to become a driver of comprehensive development, it is essential to recognize and strengthen the leading role of these communities, incorporate their ancestral knowledge, and address challenges such as informal tourism practices, limited financial education, and geographic barriers that hinder equitable access to the benefits of sustainable tourism. Based on these findings, the study proposes recommendations aimed at promoting nature-based tourism while respecting local values and needs. It suggests encouraging the use of diverse sources of financing, designing financial education programs with a differential approach to enhance the capacities of tourism stakeholders, developing awareness tools for visitors about indigenous culture and the Amazon biome, and strengthening community processes alongside integrated conservation efforts in the territory.Publicación Lecciones aprendidas : casos de éxito y mejoras durante la implementación del programa de sostenibilidad de Intentional Sourcing en los municipios de Quinchía y La Celia Risaralda(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Guerrero Arias, Yovany Andrés; Henao Arango, Maria CeciliaRGC Coffee is a Canadian coffee importing company, which is committed to the sustainable supply of coffee to different clients abroad, and at the same time is a strategic ally for roaster suppliers and retail brands around the world. The strategy of RGC Coffee is to invest the premiums generated by the commercialization of green coffee in the zones from where the product is being supplied. For this purpose, sustainability projects are generated through cooperatives, where the capital generated now of doing business with the final client is reinvested with the associates of the zone of impact. In relation to the above, the objective of this paper is to analyze and document the lessons learned during the first year of implementation of one of the sustainability programs that RGC Coffee has with the U.S. company Tree House through the Intentional Sourcing program in the municipalities of Quinchía and La Celia Risaralda, thus seeking to generate recommendations that help to have a greater impact on future projects of the company. This document was based on the methodology of the Inter-American Development Bank and through the analysis of the results of surveys, interviews and document review to finally obtain the cases of success and failure, as well as some general recommendations of great utility for future sustainability projects. Through Monte Carlo simulations, traditional and regenerative livestock models are compared, analyzing key variables such as the monthly and annual internal rates of return (IRR) and the net present value (NPV). The results indicate that regenerative livestock farming offers higher returns and financial stability compared to the traditional model, with a positive NPV in all analyzed scenarios. However, the regenerative model exhibits greater volatility, highlighting the need for risk mitigation strategies. The research emphasizes the importance of risk appetite in decision-making, suggesting that investors with a moderate to aggressive profile may benefit more from this sustainable approach.Publicación Participación del gas natural en la transición energética en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Díaz Restrepo, Álvaro; Sanabria González, Juan Carlos; Silva Parra, Víctor Manuel; Mora Cuartas, Andrés MauricioCurrently, we live in a world where the need to plan and execute an energetic transition that approaches global warming proactively is growing, and Colombia is no exception. While state organizers have shown great interest in working toward the implementation of an energetic transition that would provide Colombians an environmentally sustainable energy source, the required technological development, ability to invest, and current resources available make it necessary to conduct a thorough analysis to uncover the most comprehensive, efficient, and viable path. Despite the existence of gas deposit records dating back nearly half a century in Colombia, data related to energy used for commercial purposes, such as for household and industrial use, dates back to the 90’s, increasing in demand until in 2024 when consumption surpassed 1,000 GBTU’s. (Asociación Colombiana de Gas Natural, 2024, p. 16). Asociación Colombiana de Gas Natural hereinafter referred to as Naturgas. Today, the country faces a great challenge that consists of being able to present a strategy that would allow for a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and build a path toward a less environmentally aggressive energy source and infrastructure. Here is where we must conduct an honest assessment of our ability to innovate, strategize, and execute realistic processes that will allow for this energetic renaissance, taking into consideration our limited manpower, and they must be achievable by the general public. So, while natural gas is also derived from fossils, it’s been proven quite convincingly that it is much less harmful than liquid combustibles. In fact, natural gas helps counteract climate change, given that its use reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 30%-50% when compared to traditional fuels (Naturgas, 2024, p. 43).Publicación Plan de mercadeo - Ecomangueras SAS(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Atehortúa Salazar, Pablo; Bustamente Tamayo, Jairo AlejandroPublicación Principios y prácticas para transitar hacia la regeneración empresarial(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Gómez Cardona, Ingrid Stephany; Osorio Ramírez, Diana María; Sierra Calderón, Laura María; Villegas Alvarán, Mary Isabel; Gutiérrez Rúa, Juliana MaríaCurrent ecological and social crises have highlighted the limitations of the sustainability approach—centered on impact mitigation—to effectively address today’s systemic challenges. In this context, regeneration emerges as a transformative proposal that redefines the role of businesses, inviting them not only to reduce harm, but to restore ecosystems, strengthen communities, and care for life in all its forms. However, its adoption in the private sector remains at an early stage and faces the challenge of lacking clear and applicable references. Given this scenario, the main objective of this research was to identify principles and practices that enable private organizations to transition toward regeneration. To achieve this, a methodological cross-analysis was conducted between specialized literature and empirical evidence gathered through semi-structured interviews with companies and experts. This articulation allowed for a contrast between theoretical advances and the level of practical appropriation within the business context, revealing key tensions, opportunities, and learnings. The findings reveal a shared language around regeneration as an evolution of sustainability, with a holistic, systemic, and transformative approach. Despite facing cultural, economic, and measurement-related barriers, its strategic value is recognized for innovation, accessing new markets, and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and territories. Practices already implemented by some organizations—along with more collaborative governance structures and the recognition of nature as a key actor—demonstrate that regeneration is not merely an ethical aspiration but a concrete path to building businesses connected to living systems. In conclusion, the research confirms that moving toward regeneration requires a profound rethinking of business purpose, along with the adoption of new forms of governance, measurement models, and engagement with territories. Although the journey presents significant challenges, it also opens strategic opportunities in terms of innovation, differentiation, and shared value creation. Regeneration should not be conceived as a fixed destination, but as an ongoing process that demands continuous adaptation.
