Publicación Economía circular, indicadores de sostenibilidad y energías renovables en comercial Celofán SAS.(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Angarita Rincón, Linney; Osorio Molina, Hernán; Cadavid Restrepo, Carlos Fernando; NoThe main objective of this thesis was to implement a circular economy model for the management of plastic supports used for yarn dyeing and the energy consumption of the textile industry by implementing a circular economy model and using renewable energy at Comercial Celofán S.A.S. To this end, a mixed-approach methodology was employed, including a literature review; development of a circular economy strategy; the design and selection of sustainability indicators; and a study of the implementation of renewable energy for the company. The results show that implementing a circular economy for plastic supports through a strategic alliance with suppliers and customers at Comercial Celofán S.A.S was a complete success, this not only contributes significantly to the fulfillment of the SDG´s and provides multiple benefits that positively impact the environment, but also because it is a project that can generate significant profits, which can exceed 297 million pesos annually, for these reasons, most SMEs should consider replicating this practice in their industries. It is concluded that the implementation of a solar panel system at Comercial Celofán S.A.S is a decision aimed at sustainability, generating reputational benefits, enabling the company to fully realize its investment in its third year of use and potentially generating profits exceeding 2 billion pesos over a 25 years implementation horizon. We also conclude that the transition to a circular economy for the plastics industry represents a pressing and strategic opportunity to address the ESG challenges associated with the linear production and consumption model.
