Abstract: Fingering is a quite important aspect in the music performance of every single instrument. Because of its sound production system and also considering that a single pitch can be produced in different positions along the fingerboard, the guitar has a large range of possibilities that have to be considered in order to achieve a professional level in terms of aesthetic and technical goals. To accomplish that, here will be explained some important proceedings related to the left hand that should be studied in our daily basis, in this case, using excerpts of Works composed by Mateo Carcassi, Giulio Regondi, Agustín Barrios, Manuel Ponce, Heitor Villa-lobos, Leo Brouwer and Eduardo Sainz de la Maza, and finally, listing a series of tips to improve the right hand technique. These approaches rely on the analysis which illustrates the sonority changes of the guitar throughout the twentieth century due to different processes associated to the development of the building techniques and mostly the appropriation of new fingering procedures. The purpose of this article is to teach students of all levels, how to use the technical resources mentioned.1
