Publicación El turismo, alternativa de desarrollo sostenible en el municipio de Tauramena, departamento de Casanare(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Machuca Machuca, Bibiana; Ávila López, Marta Cecilia; Ramírez Baracaldo, Adriana Marcela; OcensaThis study analyzes tourism as an alternative for sustainable development in the municipality of Tauramena, Casanare, a region historically reliant on the extractive sector. Using a qualitative case study approach with a phenomenological focus, the research explored the perceptions of key stakeholders, public officials and former officials, tourist site owners, and community leaders, regarding sustainable tourism from environmental, economic, and sociocultural dimensions. Semi-structured interviews were conducted, and the analysis was guided by Jafari’s (2005) theoretical platforms and Rosales’s (2024) sustainability principles. Findings reveal an emerging tourism dynamic driven by local actors, with strong natural and cultural assets, yet constrained by the lack of planning, formalization, and institutional coordination. Shared opportunities, tensions, and challenges were identified, leading to the design of a territorially grounded sustainable tourism proposal, focused on participatory governance, cultural identity strengthening, and system formalization. The study concludes that Tauramena holds strong potential to consolidate a sustainable tourism model if local capacities are integrated with structured public policies and intersectoral coordination. Keywords:Publicación Estudio de las motivaciones de los consumidores en referencia a hospedarse en hoteles sostenibles en el municipio de Jardín, Antioquia(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Echeverri Molina, María Camila; Acevedo Mejía, Erika Cristina; Escobar Escobar, Ana CristinaThe tourism sector in Colombia, and in particular in the municipality of Jardín, located in the southwest of Antioquia, has been increasing its participation in sustainable hotel practices, which makes it essential to understand why consumers choose to stay in this type of hotels, in order to develop strategies to capture their attention, not only for the benefit of the hotels, but also for the benefit of their environment. This study was born from this need and its general objective is to know the main motivations of consumers in reference to staying in green hotels in the municipality of Jardín, Antioquia. A research was conducted based on a qualitative methodology, through semi-structured interviews to ten consumers who visit green hotels in the municipality of Jardín and to four actors involved in the hotel sector. Based on the results, three consumer profiles were identified: Tranquility seekers, Passionate travelers and Escapist friends, according to different variables such as personal interests and intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. The profiles show different factors and outstanding experiences that are related to the choice of these hotels and the municipality of Jardín as a tourist destination.Publicación Estudio de prefactibilidad para el proyecto del museo de historia natural de la Tatacoa(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Murillo Herrera, Sara Isabela; Henao Arango, María CeciliaThe objective of this research is to analyze the feasibility of continuing with the project of the Tatacoa Natural History Museum, located in Villavieja, in the department of Huila, Colombia. Based on a pre-feasibility study, market, operational, cultural, environmental, social and economic items that allow the feasibility of operating in the short, medium and long term are contemplated. This museum, which first opened in 2014, has an invaluable paleontological heritage and is a reference for research and dissemination of natural history in Colombia. However, the operation is at risk due to issues that generate gaps such as infrastructure, the reduction of visitor demand, and the difficulty of financial resources; this generates uncertainties about its viability in the long term. To address these gaps, a pre-feasibility study methodology was developed that incorporates multidimensional approaches: economic study, social and cultural impact assessment, and the identification of environmental factors that affect its operation for the deployment of a strategy to maintain the continuity of the museum in the long term.
