Juntos : el poder de la solidaridad en Medellín
(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Acevedo David, Erika María; Eslava Gómez, Adolfo
This research asks whether solidarity, when experienced through collective action, can generate social change in contexts marked by structural inequality, such as the city of Medellin. From a qualitative approach, we listened to the voices of community leaders, public managers and social actors who have built solidarity practices daily. Through semi-structured interviews, we explored significant experiences that reveal how solidarity is not an act of assistance or an isolated gesture, but a way of inhabiting the world with the other at the center. The work reflects on the limits between aid that dignifies and assistance that reproduces exclusions and proposes an ethical and political view of solidarity as a transforming force. What emerges is not only theory, but a living commitment to justice, tenderness and the collective.

Labour Supply Effects of Conditional Transfers: Analyzing the Dominican Republic's Solidarity Program
(Universidad EAFIT, 2013-04-12) Canavire Bacarreza, Gustavo; Vasquez Ruiz, Harold
This paper studies the impact of the conditional cash transfer program Solidaridad on changes in the labor market of the Dominican Republic based on statistical data from the Evaluation of the Social Security Survey 2010. The estimation methodology is based on matching techniques, which can discern the impact on both benene.t-receiving and non-benefit-receiving households. The results show a negative but very small impact of the different components of the program on labor market indicators, especially for the components related to children. However, the estimates show some heterogeneity in the effects on the most vulnerable sectors of the population.
