Fintech, neobanks and big technology companies are offering fully digital financial solutions that response to need of consume of a society hyperconnected to internet, that, in addition, they may offer competitive rates in comparation with a traditional bank because they are born with an enterally automated and robotized operation. To survive the new competitors, banks are obliged to think of a digital transformation strategy that helps in the adoption of technology for the improvement of their processes and the generation of a new offer of value that is attractive to consumers of the new generations. Due to this, it has become necessary for banks to evaluate and adjust their business models in a way that allows them to be at the forefront, maintain their market share and be competitive in such a changing environment. This paper analyzes the transformation of the business model of one of the main banks in Colombia through the adaptation or transformation of its products in relation to the digitalization processes of its services and the effects of these on their financial performance.Ítem Pilares estratégicos en la transición de la banca tradicional a la banca digital en una filial del Banco de Occidente y una filial del Banco BBVA Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Benavides Gaviria, Daniel Fernando; Flor García, Gustavo Adolfo; Vergara Garavito, Judith CeciliaThe world and Colombia are evolving significantly towards digital banking, with an increasingly crucial infrastructure and financial regulation according to this transition, becoming the main factor for the development of favorable financial results. However, the transition to digital banking has not happened at the same rate for all financial institutions in the country, which is why this proposal analyzes the digital strategies used, as well as the results obtained under a base of four pillars. These pillars are known as open innovation, clients, employees and the operational process and redesign of the offices, focused on two entities that are the headquarters of Banco de Occidente (national 2 bank) and a subsidiary of Banco BBVA (Banco Internacional) in the city of Cali. The two entities show favorable results, although with a different advance. Banco BBVA Colombia confirms that it is a leader in Colombia in digital transformation, while Banco de Occidente has been operating for two years with a digital transformation process that is just beginning to generate its first results.
