Ítem Beneficios laborales y su relación con las necesidades e intereses de las personas en cuatro organizaciones manufactureras de Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Henao Echeverri, Karen Melisa; Rivera Aguirre, Leidy Viviana; Sanín Posada, John AlejandroThe relationship between the labor compensation offered by organizations and the needs and interests of its employees is of great relevance due to the effects it has on their motivation and desire to stay, especially in today's labor market. This paper investigates whether such a relationship exists in four Colombian manufacturing companies. To establish this, the companies' compensation portfolios were taken and reviewed, according to taxonomies of needs and interests, if the benefits were connected with them. Then, based on such taxonomies, a survey was elaborated and applied to 237 people from these organizations asking about their unsatisfied needs and interests. These answers were related to the benefit portfolios. A low relationship was found between portfolios and needs and interests. In the analysis by gender, it was found that women tend to have needs for protection while men have needs for understanding, by marital status those married or in a free union have needs for identity, singles for participation, and others for subsistence, with respect to age, those from 18 to 30 have needs for affection, from 31 to 40 for protection, from 41 to 50 for participation and from 51 to 62 for participation. Our findings raise questions as to whether the benefits assigned in organizations are adequate for the different population groups and are revealing when it comes to an understanding of the phenomena of low motivation and high turnover faced by some organizations. Keywords: compensation, interests, needs, motivation, intention to stay.Ítem ¿Cómo transformar los recursos naturales?(2016-05-13) Giraldo Estrada, Catalina; Álvarez Vanegas, Alejandro; González Cotes, Ana María; Arango Uribe, María Adelaida; Londoño Rivera, Ana María; Giraldo Estrada, Catalina; Álvarez Vanegas, Alejandro; González Cotes, Ana María; Arango Uribe, María Adelaida; Londoño Rivera, Ana MaríaPublicación Definición de oportunidades de productos importados para la atención de necesidades del sector HORECA en Pereira(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Mejía García, Kevin; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz Amparo; Londoño Vélez, NataliaThe HORECA sector, which includes businesses such as hotels, restaurants, casinos, and institutional food services, is one of the most important drivers of the Colombian economy. This is why the research objective focuses on identifying opportunities for the portfolio of imported products in the HORECA sector in the city of Pereira. By conducting a documentary review through marketing and consumer behavior frameworks, combined with understanding the context and perception of business owners, the research identifies their main challenges and needs, decision-making processes, and the development of a communication and commercialization strategy for the product category in question. The findings indicate that the most relevant challenges lie in the workforce and the changing dynamics of the market, aligned with decision-making processes that follow a similar structure across organizations. However, depending on the size of the company, the level of complexity may increase. Regarding the determination of commercialization strategies and opportunities in the sector, it is identified that there is a demand for a variety of imported ingredients in line with the growing trend of international cuisine in the city, as well as the implementation of process technologies. This is paired with marketing through highly qualified advisors, providing support and training, and participation in innovation and technology fairs to strengthen relationships and improve the company’s positioning.Ítem En la búsqueda del billete ganador : motivadores de compra de los apostadores de lotería en Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Rodríguez Patiño, Juan Camilo; Agudelo Calle, Jhonny Alejandro; Escobar Escobar, Ana CristinaThe motivations of lottery players have been widely studied, especially because through them, the State can establish its regulatory policies to encourage a greater number of users, achieve a higher value of the amount bet and the legalization of the other games modalities that are not making transfers to the health system in Colombia as indicated by the norm. Due to global trends in carbon dioxide reduction and good environmental practices, in Colombia this type of fashion is already part of the environmental discussion agenda. In the Colombian fashion industry there are still no clear numbers on the environmental impact of clothing manufacturing, but it is known that many of the international brands that people currently consume have a high impact due to the number of clothes they manufacture, the water that contaminates the textile processes and in addition to the bad human resources practices. In Colombia there are already brands that have built sustainability processes for the production of clothing and already have a group of consumers who care about responsible consumption, however, it is also important to know which are the consumption habits of the people who look for companies that care about environmental and social sustainability, what are the motivations they have for buying this type of clothes and the needs they cover when making the decision, knowing that is important for marketing and for brand building to have an overview of what this consumer behavior is like.Ítem Marx, Engels y una (re)producción material del vivir humano: hacia la restitución de una base histórica(Universidad EAFIT, 2019-03-26) Rocha Antunes, Paulo Fernando; Universidade de LisboaÍtem Motivadores de compra de bicicletas de montaña eléctricas eMTB en Manizales, Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Zamora Arroyave, Héctor Santiago; Arango Pérez, María Camila; Agudelo Calle, Jhonny AlejandroThe constant evolution of the sport and specifically of the cycling category in the world and particularly in Colombia as a country of high cycling culture due to its exponents in international races, make the country an active place where cycling is practiced in all its forms and categories, partly thanks to the topography of the various lands that are close to the main cities throughout the national territory. The Arví Park Corporation, in charge of it, has sought to offer it as an open space to all the inhabitants of the city, but has detected that most of the current visitors are limited to low and medium-low strata (1, 2 and 3). In order to motivate the population segment of upper-middle strata to appropriate of this city heritage, it´s necessary to determine how they perceive the Park and what encourages them to visit it. In order to identify these aspects, this research used the technique of focusing groups with participants belonging to strata 4, 5 and 6 of the city and with ages between 18 and 70 years. The findings suggest that this Park is a positive reference for the city even for people who have not visited it, because it represents a contrast in front of the problems of the city, such as pollution, noise and speed. However, a better dissemination strategy is required on its services, activities and products, so that the population segment studied can access it and appropriate it. In this sense, the research is useful to identify the aspects that Arvi Park should improve in order to get more and more citizens to access and appropriate it, and to show how the public of Medellín is positioned in front of nature tourism.Ítem Perfil del visitante eafitense foráneo nacional e internacional. For this reason, it is necessary to understand foreign students who come to Universidad EAFIT, both national and international, during their academic mobility, when searching for accommodation, identifying their profile and specific characteristics, investigating what motivates them when searching a place to stay, provide them with specific benefits that respond to their unmet needs, and creating proposals that aim at their integrity and find possible accommodation solutions that facilitate off-campus housing. To have a clear overview of the study situation, 57 surveys and six interviews were carried out –whose guides are found in the appendices section– as well as a complete documentary analysis that addresses the research problem, the related question and the objectives, providing a solid context and justifying the importance of the inquiry. Additionally, theoretical approaches and methodological strategies were integrated to obtain a more complete understanding of the motivations, needs and aspirations of the individuals who decide to travel and study at EAFIT.
