Based on a pre-feasibility study, market, operational, cultural, environmental, social and economic items that allow the feasibility of operating in the short, medium and long term are contemplated. This museum, which first opened in 2014, has an invaluable paleontological heritage and is a reference for research and dissemination of natural history in Colombia. However, the operation is at risk due to issues that generate gaps such as infrastructure, the reduction of visitor demand, and the difficulty of financial resources; this generates uncertainties about its viability in the long term. To address these gaps, a pre-feasibility study methodology was developed that incorporates multidimensional approaches: economic study, social and cultural impact assessment, and the identification of environmental factors that affect its operation for the deployment of a strategy to maintain the continuity of the museum in the long term.Ítem Experiential qualities of science museum exhibits: A thematic analysis(DESIGN SOC, 2017-01-01) Ocampo-Agudelo J.; Maya J.Designing and supporting the visitor experience with interactive exhibits in science museums is a complex endeavor, particularly because many factors are interrelated and its subjective and dynamic nature. Over the past two decades, a number of studies have addressed this subject from different perspectives. However, the majority of published work addresses only some aspects and most of them are under-Articulated. To address this issue, this article attempt to understand how different approaches relate and complement each other. A 'theoretical' thematic analysis was conducted to identify the essential constituent elements of the visitor experience with interactive science museum exhibits. The results of this paper indicate that the visitor, the interactive exhibit, the physical and social context, the engagement process, the learning experience and the science museum purpose are interconnected. Each element is reviewed and defined in detail, delineating its major characteristics.Publicación Generación de un modelo de negocio para emprender un museo del café en Bogotá(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Aldana Mateus, Natalia; Sierra Mejia, Astrid Liliana; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz Amparo; Rozo Villegas, AlejandroÍtem Monocolor and color holography of pre-Hispanic Colombian goldwork: A way of Colombian heritage appropriation(SPIE-INT SOC OPTICAL ENGINEERING, 2018-01-01) Madrid Sánchez, A.; Giraldo, L.M.; Velásquez Prieto, D.; Universidad EAFIT. Departamento de Ciencias Básicas; Óptica AplicadaOptically indistinguishable copies of 3D real objects or holograms are known to be suitable to replace exhibited artistic pieces in museums. In this paper, we discuss holography as an alternative to protect, share and preserve finely crafted gold pieces belonging to the indigenous treasure inherited by Colombians. We present high diffraction efficiency monocolor and color holograms of native goldwork. As reference objects and proof of concept, we use replicas of the renowned and emblematic Poporo Quimbaya, pre-Hispanic gold pendants and anthropomorphic gold pieces. We report experimental details to deal with different types of commercial holographic recording materials, as for example, PFG-03M and PFG- 03C silver halides or C-RT20 photopolymers. And its general feasibility for reproducing high-quality holograms suitable for museum exhibitions or traveling art-collections. Copyright © 2018 SPIE.
