This is because the individual who assumed unpaid roles, such as caregiving and domestic work during the relationship, often finds themselves at a disadvantage compared to their partner in economic, professional, and employment spheres. This can result in an economic imbalance in the assets of the ex-spouse or ex-partner, placing them in a vulnerable position due to the loss of development opportunities assumed by one member of the relationship. Given that historically women have been the ones to assume caregiving roles, it was necessary to briefly address the history of feminism and the feminization of poverty. Additionally, the national and international legislative landscape was analyzed, with a particular emphasis on the recognition of domestic work as a contribution in kind to society and the possibility of claiming damages under civil law. This analysis aimed to determine what tools exist and which are lacking to ensure protection in the context described. In this regard, the concept of economic compensation was discussed.Ítem La violencia contra las mujeres en Medellín : evaluación del programa “Ciudades y espacios seguros para mujeres y niñas”(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Bedoya González, Camila Andrea; Tobón, SantiagoViolence represents high costs for society and affects women to a greater extent. The lack of visibility of the problem, the lack of awareness and good practices in the prevention of sexual harassment, and the various types of violence aggravate the situation. The Women’s Secretariat implemented the program “Safe Cities and Spaces for Women and Girls” to address violence against women, especially sexual crimes. The objective of my study is to evaluate the impact of the intervention “Cities and Safe Spaces for Women and Girls” carried out in the period between 2017 and 2018 in commune 3 (Manrique, Medellín) on the reporting rates of domestic violence and sexual crimes, to determine the effectiveness of the strategy implemented to improve the safety and well-being of women and girls in public spaces. The method I used comprises a quantitative approach employing a technique of impact evaluation called synthetic control. The intervention encourages reporting crimes, possibly because the mechanisms used raise awareness of the problem, reassuring the victims that they feel safe reporting, although the results are imprecise.Ítem Laura Sierra Zapata: El mundo necesita de la ciencia, la ciencia necesita de las mujeres(Universidad EAFIT, 2000) Vera Zapata, Wilmar; ColaboradoraEsta investigadora de la Escuela de Ciencias hizo parte de las 14 colombianas reconocidas por el programa “Para las mujeres en la ciencia”, por su proyecto para mejorar la nutrición de madres gestantes y bebés.Ítem Motivos y consecuencias psicológicas en mujeres que se han realizado una cirugía estética(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Mosquera Ruiz, Paola Andrea; Manrique Tisnés, HoracioThe main objective of the research was to describe the reasons and psychological consequences in women who have undergone cosmetic surgery, using the cross-sectional descriptive qualitative case study as Method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with five women of different ages from the Aburrá Valley. The results are presented by main categories analyzed, such as Reasons for cosmetic surgery, Meaning of surgery and Psychological implications. In conclusion, it is possible to demonstrate the positive impact for the women interviewed, after cosmetic surgery, since they feel happier with their physical appearance, increasing their self-esteem and giving a new meaning to their self-concept. However, the importance of carrying out a psychological evaluation prior to each intervention is raised.Ítem Mujeres y violencia íntima : un régimen de reparación de daños olvidados(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Arango Gómez, Valentina; Vásquez Vega, DanielÍtem Organizaciones feministas, políticas públicas y desarrollo territorial : acciones y retos en derechos sexuales y derechos reproductivos en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Quintero García, Luz Adriana; Villegas Echavarría, YuliethÍtem Problems and challenges in the implementation of Gender Mainstreaming in the Public Policy of Women of Medellín (2012-2015). Establish the relationship that exists between the level of self-esteem and the compulsive purchase in female undergraduate students of a private university in the city of Cali. Method. Correlative-comparative quantitative study based on two instruments for the measurement of compulsive purchase (BSAS) in the first instance and the level of self-esteem (RSES) applied to a sample of 68 women undergraduate students of a private University of the city of Cali, of which 34 presented compulsive purchase and the other 34 did not. Results The results indicated that the Spearman correlation obtained was low, negative (-.207) and was not significant (Sig. = .09, p> .05). Likewise, a Chi-square test was applied, which showed that there is an association between the variables studied (Sig = .049, p <.05). Conclusions Although compulsive shopping is not a determinant of low self-esteem, these variables are associated, that is, they are linked together.
