Ítem Análisis de la pre-factibilidad para la creación de una empresa de servicios de mantenimiento a través de plataformas digitales para la maquinaria y equipo de minería en las regiones lejanas de los centro urbanos de Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) López Tuberquia, Edwin Fernando; Salazar Gómez, Francisco; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaIn view of the rise of the collaborative economy and the implementation of service platforms in which interaction between users and companies that promote the approach and acquisition of products and services is facilitated, this degree paper deals with the pre-feasibility analysis of a digital platform whose objective is to offer preventive maintenance services focused mainly on the mining sector, emphasizing clients that are far from the main urban centers of the country. The current economic outlook for the mining sector in Colombia is analyzed and, accordingly, it is inferred that from the mining industry jobs are generated for the mechanical and maintenance engineering subsectors, which encourage the growing demand for maintenance services for the equipment and machines used in this industry. This document analyzes the current economic perspectives of the mining sector in this country, from which it is assumed that in the mining industry jobs are generated for the mechanical and maintenance engineering subsector that encourage the growing demand for maintenance services for equipment and machines used in this industry. Likewise, it analyzes the cost of specialized labor service and its legal costs; with these costs, plus an assumed sales volume and based on the growth prospects of the sector, the economic, legal and administrative viability of the project is verified, which yields good prospects. Finally, the country's technological capacity to support this type of digital service platforms is analyzed. The positive results of this analysis allowed to develop this work, whose objective is to verify the pre-feasibility of a project focused on facilitating access to the preventive maintenance service of equipment and machines.Ítem Aplicación de la metodología Kaizen a las operaciones mina en la empresa de explotación de cobre Miner S.A.(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Gelves Vargas, Misael Ricardo; Henao Rivas, Doraida; Escalante Gómez, Juan EstebanThis work presents a proposal for continuous improvement developed at Miner S.A copper mine, this company is dedicated to commercializing copper and gold concentrate, Miner S.A is located close to El Carmen de Atrato town and it is supported by Kaizen Methodology. In the first part of the work, results of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the last periods in the mine operation are analysed. An area that includes extraction process are selected for intervention and there are characterize by having results that require management. Analysis is framed by a detailed description of elements that constitute each process in order to have detailed information about resources involved. The selected KPIs are efficiency percentage of drilling and blasting process and energy consumption. After selecting these processes, proposals for improvement are presented by using of Ishakawa diagrams tool or fishbone. This tool allows easy identification of problem causes performance in both selected processes. In order to make this analysis as complete as possible and being able to share the Kaizen Philosophy to each area of the organization, its development was supported by administrative and operative workforce.Ítem Una aproximación histórica a los negocios internacionales y a la presencia extranjera en la Antioquia del siglo XIX(Universidad EAFIT, 01/12/2005) María Alejandra Calle Saldarriaga; Universidad EAFITÍtem La confianza en las zonas mineras de antioquia, Bolívar y Córdoba(Universidad Externado de Colombia, 2015-01-01) S. SILVA; A. ESLAVA; A. PRECIADO; O. ZAPATA; L. CORREA; J. GIRALDO; Departamento de Humanidades; Estudios de Filosofía, Hermenéutica y NarrativasCorruption is a universal phenomenon. However, many societies have managed to counteract its negative effects through public policies and sustained social efforts on transparency and prosocial values. This article seeks to examine the micro-institutional arrangements of the mining areas of the departments of Antioquia, Córdoba and Bolívar, and their relationship to corruption. The results of the fieldwork suggest that the formal and informal rules and community attributes of the mining regions under study encourage corrupt practices, particularly through the loss of trust among their people. © 2015, Universidad Externado de Colombia. Unfortunately, a global economy is positively affected by economic events worldwide, which is quickly evident in the behavior of the local currency, also becoming the main indicator in business decision-making. In such a way it is essential what are the effects of the devaluation of the Colombian peso against the income generated by mining in Colombia. Through an analysis of such variables, it is intended to propose a mathematical model that manages to define if they have any relationship and if there is, what are their most important characteristics.Ítem Estudio de prefactibilidad para la creación de una refinería de oro en Antioquia(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Gallego Giraldo, Juan Felipe; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz Amparo; Velásquez Peláez, SebastiánThe "Feasibility Study for the Creation of a Gold Refinery in Antioquia" is a report that analyzes the feasibility of building a gold refinery in the Antioquia region of Colombia. The study is divided into several sections that address different aspects, such as market analysis, technical feasibility, financial analysis, and environmental impact. In the market analysis, the demand for gold and supply in the international and national markets is examined. The competition in the sector is also studied, and the main potential customers are identified. Regarding technical feasibility, the availability of raw materials and the processes necessary for gold refining are analyzed. Available technologies are studied, and an assessment of construction and operation costs is made. In the financial analysis, an investment study is conducted, and the profitability of the project is evaluated. Projected revenues and costs are examined, and the investment payback period is calculated. Finally, in the environmental impact analysis, possible environmental impacts are evaluated, and measures are proposed to mitigate them. In conclusion, the study concludes that the construction of a gold refinery in Antioquia is viable and profitable and has the potential to generate significant economic benefits for the region.Ítem Factores que impiden el uso adecuado de los servicios de agua y saneamiento en las comunidades campesinas del ámbito de acción de los proyectos ejecutados por el Fondo Social Las Bambas : estudio de caso de las comunidades Minascucho y Escohorno, región Apurímac, durante el 2015(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Tairo Quispe, Katherin Patricia; Ojeda Ludeña, Jermani; Vargas Sáenz, Mario EnriqueThis research is a description and explanation of causes those do not allow a good use of water and sanitation services in two Quechua rural communities (Minascucho in Cotabambas province and Escohorno in Grau province) in Apurimac region. Both development projects had done by Las Bambas Social Found Association (FOSBAM) using the economic budget of the Scrow Social Found of Las Bambas (it was given by Xtrata Copper Mining Company in 2004). Both projects have similarities in how they were developed and their results. The execution of them was in 2014 and 2015 and the responsible entity decided to combine two components, social and infrastructure, but the second one was the predominant instead the first one. There had done a qualitative study of case in both communities, getting information of people who received the project, not only in the community, but also in the district where has been implemented the service. This was to know details about factors that caused why people are not using adequately and why they cannot manage by themselves the water and sanitation services. There were used different variables to get appropriate data related to problems that the project wanted to solve. For example, these variables allowed to get data about the project focus, health problems of the people around the area, how they use water and sanitation system, cultural factors related to new services, people habit in water consumption and sanitation, user’s involvement and other entities before, during and after the project execution. This research in social management not only describes which factors are determiners about adequately use of water and sanitation services, but also give a proposal of social marketing in order to contribute to change people habits and attitudes in rural communities in Apurimac, and for this purpose different entities from public, private sector and civil society should work together.Ítem Informe Burkenroad Mineros S.A.(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Palacios Bayona, Zora; Marín Gómez, Alejandro; Hernández Bonnet, ÁlvaroWe recommend to buy stocks of Mineros S.A due to the stock price at december 31-2018 closed in COP2.045. According to the model, it has a valuation potential of 47,31% and an objective price of COP3.881. Mineros S.A strategy for increasing enterprise value is to increase the production to 500.000Oz of gold in the long term and for it, Mineros S.A has as objective to seek investment alternatives abroad. Mineros S.A has a huge experience in acquisitions, reason why they acquired at the end of 2018 Gualcamayo in Argentina and they dealed the purchase option of the exploration project La Pepa, in Chile (Mineros S.A., 2018b)Ítem Modelo de gestión de operaciones para el fortalecimiento del área de formalización minera : el caso de Zijin Continental Gold(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Villegas García, María Alejandra; Escalante Gómez, Juan EstebanThis degree work focuses on the design and implementation of an operations management model for the different formalized companies linked to Zijin Continental Gold, seeking to strengthen their production dynamics and competitiveness, based on the generation of a continuous improvement cycle. For this purpose, a qualitative approach study, descriptive scope and non-experimental design is proposed. The proposed model, derived from a systematic review of the literature on good mining practices, is intended to be adapted to the nature and dynamics of the different organizations. Furthermore, it is structured around four (4) strategic dimensions (planning, production, safety, and finance) and a set of constituent aspects (of potential measurement, control, and improvement over time) directly linked to the fulfillment of the goals of formalized companies.Ítem Modelo operativo financiero para la maduración de los operadores de minería informal en la explotación de oro de la subregión del nordeste antioqueño(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Morantes Delgado, Óscar Fabián; Uribe Márin, Ricardo ;15435711The objective of all human activity entails a probability of success and impact on its development, and when this probability materializes, data is recorded. However, if the results are coherent with the desired orientation –the strategy–, income is generated; but if these results are not completely in time and place –the materialization of the risks–, there is a deviation called costs and expenses, which, in some cases, leads to desist from the activity itself. In economic activities such as mining, substantial investments have to be made before achieving some type of income. For this reason, it happens that in many cases risk factors are added, because the valuation horizon of the mining business increases over a longer period of time, with little or no confidence in the long-term results. In the case of mining operators in general, their financial illiteracy leads them to mix concepts of investments, expenses, costs and income, among others, which, added to the operational complexity, technically prevents them from applying for loans and obtaining working capital from potential investors, because the benefits of the real performance of the mining operation are not easy to separate. This is how the need to establish a maturity model for gold mining operators is presented, since, due to the nature of the business they develop and the characteristics of the goldfields, a strategy is required that involves historical knowledge of gold mining, the mines, and allows to reduce investment in exploration and its consequent development time with the knowledge and effectiveness of artisanal mining; through the analysis of the registered operational and financial data of their business, this venture leads to mitigate the inherent risks of the aforementioned mining activity –the exploitation of gold– in such a complex socioeconomic environment as that of Antioquia´s northeast sub-region. The proposed maturity model allows to reduce costs through risk management, making it possible to maximize the results of the operation in coherence with the economic activity of the miners, mitigate the impact on people, the environment and society, and promote the continuity of your business. The document below proposes the identification of operational and financial variables necessary to measure the alignment with the organizational strategy of gold mining operators, so that, from a primary extractive activity such as mining, the education of gold mining operators is strengthened, and provides them with the adequate knowledge to perform an analysis of their operation and financing. In this way, they can separate the real operating cost, the investments, the expected results and the amortization horizon, the emerging risks, the associated controls to mitigate them, and the alignment with the corporate strategy, to generate organizational synergies that result in an operation in harmony with the environment and encourage the generation of value for interest groups.Ítem El papel de las opciones reales en la valoración de una mina de cobre(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Restrepo Giraldo, Santiago; Quiroz Mora, Alonso Elías; Tamara Ayus, Armanado LeninThe mining sector is characterized by the existence of projects that have operational and administrative flexibility, due to the high volatility of external factors that affect the development of these projects. The appropriate methodology for evaluating this type of project is the real options since it includes the value of the flexibility in the final value of the project. In the valuation of the copper mining project, the binomial tree method is used to analyzed and valued the option of temporary closure of the mine in five periods. The result of the valuation shows that when assessing the project by this method, the value of the project in the zero period increased 10.12% with respect to the calculation made by the net present value methodology, showing the importance of valuing through real options to maximize the total value of mining projects.Ítem Percepción de la responsabilidad social empresarial de la minera gran Colombia gold en el municipio de Segovia, Antioquia(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Medina Agudelo, César Augusto; Restrepo Diaz, David AlejandroCorporate social responsibility, hereinafter CSR, in its evolution has ceased to be a unique matter of philanthropy to demonstrate in corporate strategy, in addition to ethical responsibility towards each of its stakeholders, the social investment of companies. The progress of an organization must be profitable, but also consistent, with the social and environmental actions that impact the community in which it is installed, which means the adoption of policies, regulations and execution of plans for the fulfillment of social expectations, monetary and environmental, since their actions are assumed in a scenario of co-responsibility and connection with the improvement of the quality of life of employees and the community in general. The Gran Colombia Gold company, with mining activities in the municipality of Segovia, has assumed, since 2013, through the Gran Colombia Gold Foundation, several CSR initiatives, which have meant, in addition to the large investment, a challenge for the successful linking of the community and the community, with a positive influence on their quality of life and their level of closeness to each of its inhabitants. For such identification, a qualitative study with a hermeneutic approach was carried out and a semi-structured interview guide was applied to collect information; With this instrument, three categories were identified: the assessment of CSR initiatives in the municipality, the perception of impact and relationship with interest groups and the perception of the inhabitants of the municipality of Segovia benefited about the Gran Colombia Gold company through its CSR initiatives.Ítem Petrographic and litho-geochemical characterization of the VMS deposit at El Roble mine, Colombian Western Cordillera(Universidad Eafit, 2020) Murillo Bedoya, José Manuel; Marín Cerón, María Isabel; Echeverri Franco, BalmerEl Roble Mine (Cu-Au) siliciclastic-mafic volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposit, is located at El Carmen de Atrato, Chocó, Colombian Western Cordillera. This 4-million-ton VMS occurs replacing black chert rocks between Upper Cretaceous volcanic Barroso Formation and Upper Cretaceous Urrao member of Penderisco Formation. Major, trace and REE elements, indicate that there are at least two different mantle sources (E-MORB and N-MORB) from the volcanic Barroso Formation(?). Then the close relation between black chert unit and E-MORB related basalts may have leaded the VMS mineralization. The 2D geochemical vector modelling from drill-cores around “Zeus” ore body shows positive correlated anomalies for the AI (Alteration Index), CCPI (Chlorite Carbonate Pyrite Index), Tl and MgO with the presence of hyaloclastites, becoming important exploration vectors for the VMS at the North Volcanic Zone of the Andean Cordillera. Nevertheless, the Na2O negative anomaly close to the ore body, is not conclusive in such type of VMS due to overprinted hydrothermal alteration closely related to the Cenozoic arc environment.Ítem Resiliencia y el desarrollo humano organizacional en una empresa del sector minero(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Gómez Morón, María Alejandra; Orejuela Gómez, Johnny JavierÍtem Tierra de aguas mansas : procesos de minería y urbanización sensibles al agua : estrategias para adaptar los procesos de minería y urbanización en un territorio vulnerable ante los efectos de la variabilidad climática, Rionegro, Antioquia(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) González Pérez, Vanessa; Jaramillo Orrego, Laura; Zapata Suárez, Ana María; Echeverri Restrepo, Alejandro
