Clasificación de residuos para niños en etapa preescolar : una apuesta por la educación ambiental temprana
(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Londoño Osorio , Laura; Henao Loaiza, Marta Lucía; Vélez Zapata, Sara
Environmental education is part of the essential alternatives to try to take care of the planet. In this intervention we work with 5 and 6 year old children, belonging to the preschool grade of an educational institution in the city of Medellín, applying a series of activities focused on teaching the proper classification of waste generated during school snacks (constant source of waste), specifically in the consumption of the industrialized ration (IR) of the school feeding program (PAE). In the diagnosis and design stages of this project, we use tools from the wheel of behavioral change and the EAST methodological framework, under the premise of clear, simple and attractive communication with the children's audience. To measure the impact of the intervention, we applied pre- and post-test qualitative instruments, resulting in a significant change in this behavior, making it possible to reduce the environmental footprint of the educational institution. We conclude that it is possible to incorporate the appropriate classification of waste in this population group, taking into account the specific context and complying with conditions such as: the instruction of basic knowledge, the use of altruistic motivation focused on tender messages and the provision of elements that help overcome physical barriers. Furthermore, children easily appropriate this type of knowledge and show enthusiasm for sustainable activities. We recommend the inclusion of environmental education programs from the beginning of the academic stages, and the strengthening of different pro-environmental initiatives related to waste management.

Estudio sobre el estado del arte de la aplicación del modelo de economía circular en el sector salud
(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Edo García, Víctor Salvador; Sanabria Jaimes, Julián Armando; Henao Arango, María Cecilia
The circular economy is a model that is based on the principles of sustainability and green growth, tending to maximize the value of materials and derivatives of the production process, that is, in the use of materials and the generation of waste for their use (Ellen MacArthur Foundation, 2020a). It is important to emphasize that the current production system (linear) is no longer feasible for the government, the company, the community in general and especially for the environment, therefore, the concept of circularity should be promoted for the benefit of all. According to data from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, by 2050 about 66% of the world's population will live in cities, however, the migration from linear to circular processes is expected to be gradual, which per se entails the effects on waste generation. Research data show that cities consume 75% of natural resources and produce more than 50% of global waste and emit almost 80% of greenhouse gases (Ellen MacArthur Foundation, 2020b) Therefore, the circular economy in cities and in the health sector, focus on several challenges in which are the construction of buildings, mobility and consumption of products and waste utilization, the concept of hospitals and smart health centers leverage the implementation of circular models in the health sector. It is worth noting that the health sector chain consumes a great variety of plastic products, paper, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, metals, and wood, in addition to the need to consume energy, gas, and water for its operation, which generates large volumes of solid waste that cannot be used due to lack of knowledge or regulations on the management and handling of hazardous and contaminating waste for the human being and its ecosystem. In relation to the above, this research work tends to study the application of the concept of circular economy in the health sector and its contribution to the use of hospital waste and the implementation of strategies to generate sustainability and contribution to global warming, through the inclusion of circular processes with the generation of operational efficiencies. Inversiones en agricultura regenerativa
(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Buritica Fernández, Mateo; Londoño Aristizabal, Nicolas; Yepes Raigosa, David Alejandro
This paper explains the concepts of conventional and regenerative agriculture and the environmental impacts that each of these productive systems has. Then, the Welch’s t -test statistic was applied to the Ishares MSCI Global Agricultural Producers companies for the years 2019 and 2020 to determine if there are statistically significant differences in their financial results. To achieve this objective, the companies were separated into those that conduct regenerative agriculture practices and those that do not. The results of this work show that there are no statistically significant differences between the financial results of the two groups of companies. Despite the above, we consider this to be positive for the implementation of regenerative agriculture practices in the future.

Natural resources are the first source of integral and sustainable development for the peoples of the world, but these have suffered a systematic deterioration by man -- That is why the UN in 1972 proclaimed the ecological principles in Stockholm and the concept of Sustainable Development was born -- Colombia has demonstrated compliance with each of the international treaties to which it is submitted, incorporating them into the country through the constitutional bloc -- This article makes a comparative analysis of the ecological principles that refer to the conservation of the environment and everything that is involved in the environmental public policy of the municipality of Quibdó and to determine whether these have been taken into account or not time to build the public policies of the Territorial Planning Plan (POT) of the territorial entity -- Finding that this complies mostly with the principles, having as an axis of development the environmental sustainability, aimed at the economic and social strengthening of the peoples
