This behavioral intervention, aimed at families with children in the Transition grade at a private educational institution in Envigado, sought to promote better choices when purchasing and packing lunchbox snacks. Using the EAST model, three types of nudges (affective, cognitive, and behavioral) were applied through targeted messages to families, along with gamification for children to encourage the consumption of healthy foods and reduce the use of ultra-processed products. The intervention was implemented over three weeks and evaluated through systematic observations, a pretest-posttest survey on purchasing habits, and the PANAS affectivity scale. The results showed significant improvements in families' perception of health benefits (p < 0.001) and ease of preparation (p = 0.008). Additionally, an increase in the nutritional quality of lunchboxes was observed, with positive effects across all measurements. However, a decrease in caregivers' positive affect (p < 0.001) was recorded, suggesting the need to address emotional factors in future interventions. The findings suggest that nudges can improve eating habits and the nutritional quality of school lunchboxes, although psychological and contextual aspects should be considered in the design to achieve sustainable long-term changes.
