Analyze the working conditions of the anesthesiologists of the ANESTESIAR union who work at the Fundación Clínica del Norte and the influence they have on their quality of life. Framework of conceptual references. The term quality of life was conceptualized and its objective and subjective factors were identified, in some texts referred to as objective quality of life and subjective quality of life, respectively; the first referring to access to material goods and services that allow material well-being, the second with an emphasis on emotional expression, relational dynamics and the possibility of taking advantage of free time activities. Next, the concept of working conditions was defined, for which we proceeded to identify the factors addressed in investigations that have been carried out in this same field, differentiating them in contractual conditions and physical and environmental conditions of the workplace. Method. This descriptive research was carried out with a qualitative approach and as a method to achieve the objectives, qualitative interviews were conducted with a significant group of the population that had experience practicing the medical specialty for a period of time not less than two years and with a permanence in Clinic minimum of one year. Results. It was found that the contractual conditions, in general terms, allow anesthesiologists to have a quality of life that meets their personal, professional and social expectations. However, the lack of time to dedicate to non-work activities was visible, due to the high number of hours they work per month; It was also found that the spaces for rest and food are insufficient for their requirements, as well as a negative impact due to noise in the work space, which was identified as an environmental element that disturbs them. The positive influence of working conditions on the quality of life of anesthesiologists derives from the work that they have been doing as a union in search of greater autonomy over their recruitment and from associativity as a principle, that differentiates them from other health professionals. Conclusions. The working conditions of anesthesiologists have, in general, a positive influence on their quality of life, with the high number of working hours per month being susceptible to improvement, the little free time available to carry out non-work activities and noise in the job site.
