Publicación Análisis de la rentabilidad social y ambiental del modelo Casa para Mí(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Arias Gómez, Armando; Sastoque Rivera, Luis Fernando; Muñoz Mora, Juan Carlos; Sánchez, Andrés FelipeThe thesis “Analysis of the Social and Environmental Profitability of the Casa para Mí Model” evaluates the viability and impact of the social business model promoted by Cementos Argos, integrating the Theory of Change, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and the Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology. Through participatory workshops and technical analyses, the study identified significant positive impacts on the quality of life, household economy, and environmental sustainability of the beneficiary communities. Among the key findings, 87% of families reported improvements in their economic situation, including increased income, access to employment, and opportunities for technical training. In environmental terms, the model achieved a 50% reduction in CO₂ emissions, an 87% reduction in construction waste, and a 46% decrease in water consumption. The calculated SROI was 2.29, meaning that for every peso invested, $2.29 in social benefits are generated. The study concludes that the Casa para Mí model is efficient, replicable, and contributes significantly to the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly: Reduced inequalities (SDG 10), Sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), Climate action (SDG 13), and Partnerships for the goals (SDG 17).Publicación Créditos de biodiversidad : eficacia y sostenibilidad en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Suárez Carvajal, Valentina; Escobar Franco, Isabel Cristina; Romero Otalora, GermánThe loss of biodiversity represents a significant threat to the well-being of present and future generations. In this context, biodiversity credits have emerged as a tool to finance actions focused on offsetting the negative environmental impacts generated by human activities through investment in conservation actions. This thesis focuses on evaluating the effectiveness and sustainability of biodiversity credit models implemented in Colombia. The main objective of the study is to review the current state of biodiversity credit markets in the country, identifying the specific components that define what is bought and sold in these markets, comparing the definitions and structures in different international contexts and evaluating the economic, social, and environmental benefits derived from these credits for the actors involved. Through a methodology that combines bibliographic review and semi-structured interviews with key actors, it seeks to provide a comprehensive and well-founded view of the operation and effectiveness of biodiversity credits today in Colombia.Publicación Economía circular, indicadores de sostenibilidad y energías renovables en comercial Celofán SAS.(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Angarita Rincón, Linney; Osorio Molina, Hernán; Cadavid Restrepo, Carlos Fernando; NoThe main objective of this thesis was to implement a circular economy model for the management of plastic supports used for yarn dyeing and the energy consumption of the textile industry by implementing a circular economy model and using renewable energy at Comercial Celofán S.A.S. To this end, a mixed-approach methodology was employed, including a literature review; development of a circular economy strategy; the design and selection of sustainability indicators; and a study of the implementation of renewable energy for the company. The results show that implementing a circular economy for plastic supports through a strategic alliance with suppliers and customers at Comercial Celofán S.A.S was a complete success, this not only contributes significantly to the fulfillment of the SDG´s and provides multiple benefits that positively impact the environment, but also because it is a project that can generate significant profits, which can exceed 297 million pesos annually, for these reasons, most SMEs should consider replicating this practice in their industries. It is concluded that the implementation of a solar panel system at Comercial Celofán S.A.S is a decision aimed at sustainability, generating reputational benefits, enabling the company to fully realize its investment in its third year of use and potentially generating profits exceeding 2 billion pesos over a 25 years implementation horizon. We also conclude that the transition to a circular economy for the plastics industry represents a pressing and strategic opportunity to address the ESG challenges associated with the linear production and consumption model.Publicación Guía para el diseño y comunicación de estrategias sostenibles, adaptada al sector servicios : caso aplicado en Álvarez Abogados Ambientales S.A.S BIC(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Negrete Godín, Sandra Milena; González López, Santiago; Vélez Montoya, Wolfan; Salazar Quintero, María ClaraAdopting sustainable practices involves a comprehensive commitment that encompasses economic, environmental, and social aspects, and constitutes a fundamental strategy for achieving long-term business competitiveness. Therefore, promoting sustainability across all economic sectors is essential to foster conscious and responsible growth. Based on this premise, this work presents the adaptation of a Guide for the design and communication of sustainable strategies, focused on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the service sector in Colombia. The project was developed by applying the guide in a legal consulting firm specialized in environmental matters, aiming to evaluate its effectiveness, identify potential improvements, and propose adjustments for effective implementation. Through a qualitative case study methodology, the research included a literature review, a pilot test of the guide, and a survey of 30 service-sector SMEs in Medellín and Barranquilla. The results revealed that, although there is interest in sustainability within the sector, barriers such as limited resources, lack of specialized knowledge, and restricted access to information still persist. The pilot test helped identify the strengths and limitations of the guide, leading to proposals for improvements in the tools, as well as the structure and clarity of the instructions. Moreover, it was found that using the guide could generate cost savings for companies and facilitate progress in sustainability processes. This research contributes to corporate sustainability in SMEs by proposing tools adapted to the needs of these businesses and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
