Publicación Derecho a la recreación de los adultos mayores : análisis desde el género y la pobreza para la garantía del derecho(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) García Orozco, Ana María; Estrada Jaramillo, Lina MarcelaIn recent years, supranational organizations and States have recognized the needs of this stage of life, which has led to the creation of special rights for this age group; however, the guarantee and protection of these rights is still limited, especially in rights such as the right to recreation. In order to guarantee this right in Colombia, it is necessary to analyze whether factors such as gender and poverty have an impact on the possibility of older adults to exercise the effective enjoyment of the right to recreation. To conclude that situations of poverty and gender discrimination are determinant at the moment of making the right to recreation effective, since current public policies do not take into account the specific needs of older adults, which generates that there is no public offer, free of charge and with a gender approach that covers their needs.Publicación El Estado de cosas inconstitucional en las cárceles colombianas : las posibles medidas de protección aplicables para la población carcelaria de la tercera edad - adultos mayores, teniendo en cuenta los artículos 13 y 46 de la Constitución Política de Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Castaño Sánchez, Daniela; Álvarez Álvarez, Juan CarlosThis monograph will analyze the reasons of the precarious conditions inmates in Colombia face which, to a greater extent, affect the prison population of those over 65 years old given their vulnerability. In addition, it will expose the reasons that from the constitutional point of view demand and make imperative the need to implement alternative measures for the fulfillment of their sentences, in order to guarantee the fulfillment of fundamental rights that are violated in Colombian prison facilities given the situation of overcrowding in which they find themselves, thus attending to the constitutional mandate stipulated in article 13 of the Political Constitution of Colombia. The unconstitutional state of affairs in Colombian prisons, declared repeatedly by the Constitutional Court, has enormous repercussions and is extremely serious because it affects the fundamental rights of the people confined there and those of their families, but also puts into risk public health, public order and completely distances the State from the fulfillment of its essential purposes and the principles on which, among them, respect for human dignity is founded. For this reason, it is important for a Social Rule of Law such as that proclaimed by the Political Constitution of 1991, to implement a solution to cushion the damage that is done every day to each of the prisoners, especially the elderly, who due to the passing of the years, are more affected, because they are people who, being confined in prisons and given the natural course of life, are more exposed to diseases and suffer health problemsPublicación Experiencia emocional en la salud física y mental en los adultos mayores del municipio de Sabaneta Antioquia(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Ariza Medina, María Astrid; Villamizar Reyes, Milena MargaritaPublicación Intervención comportamental en adultos mayores de Medellín para impulsar el pensamiento crítico ante la desinformación en WhatsApp sobre gestión de riesgos de desastres(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Betancur Arboleda, Elizabeth; Mazo Barrientos, Juan DanielMisinformation spread online is a global problem that requires local attention, especially when it is disseminated through instant messaging applications like WhatsApp, whose content cannot be externally curated. Disseminating this content is more challenging in the context of natural disasters and is influenced by emotional and cognitive frameworks, as well as the biases and heuristics present in everyday decision-making. Therefore, the behavior of spreading misinformation depends on each individual's capacity to manage what they decide to share. This thesis reports on a Boosting-type behavioral intervention at the individual level in older adults in the District of Medellín to encourage Critical Thinking in the face of misinformation on WhatsApp about disaster risk management and to assess whether it influences their intention to share misinformation. This intervention challenges the assumptions that older adults lose their critical thinking skills due to cognitive decline and aligns with studies that highlight the importance of believing in their abilities and strengthening them.
