dc.description.abstractThis article seeks to explain to what extent El Tiempo has contributed to the formation of a process of public deliberation regarding the capture of the FARC member, "Jesús Santrich", by investigating the news coverage that the media has given to the case of "Jesús Santrich". Santrich", by investigating the news coverage that the media gave to the judicial and political repercussions. It contextualizes who "Jesús Santrich" is, his role in the peace agreements in the framework of the peace accords, the background of his capture and investigation by the Prosecutor's by the Attorney General's Office and the DEA, and the judicial debate on the institutional competences in the case: the framing prioritized by the media. dc.description.abstractEste artículo busca explicar en qué medida El Tiempo ha contribuido a la formación de un proceso de deliberación pública frente a la captura del integrante de la Farc, “Jesús Santrich”, indagando sobre el cubrimiento noticioso que el medio otorgó a las repercusiones judiciales y políticas. Se contextualiza sobre quién es “Jesús Santrich”, su papel en el marco de los acuerdos de paz, los antecedentes de la captura e investigación por parte de la Fiscalía y la DEA, y el debate judicial sobre las competencias institucionales en el caso: el encuadre priorizado por el medio. Se realiza un seguimiento a 42 noticias, dos entrevistas y un editorial publicados por El Tiempo entre el 9 de abril y el 7 de agosto de 2018, los cuales se analizan a la luz de los estándares de calidad en la presentación de la información y el rol de los medios de comunicación frente a la construcción de la deliberación ciudadana en la democracia contemporáneaspa
