dc.description	Adoptar prácticas sostenibles implica un compromiso integral que abarca aspectos económicos, ambientales y sociales y constituye una estrategia fundamental para lograr la competitividad empresarial a largo plazo. Por eso, promover la sostenibilidad en todos los sectores económicos es esencial para impulsar un crecimiento consciente y responsable. A partir de lo anterior, este trabajo presenta la adaptación de una Guía para el diseño y comunicación de estrategias sostenibles enfocada en pymes del sector servicios en Colombia. La iniciativa se llevó a cabo empleando la guía en una firma de consultoría legal especializada en temas ambientales, con la intención de evaluar su eficacia, identificar posibles mejoras y sugerir ajustes para una implementación exitosa. Por medio de una metodología cualitativa basada en estudio de caso, se realizó la revisión de literatura, una prueba piloto de la guía y una encuesta a 30 pymes de servicios en Medellín y Barranquilla. Los resultados mostraron, que, aunque existe interés por la sostenibilidad en el sector, persisten barreras como falta de recursos, conocimiento especializado y accesos a información. La prueba piloto permitió identificar fortalezas y limitaciones de la guía, proponiendo mejoras en herramientas y en la estructura y claridad de las instrucciones. Además, se evidenció que el uso de la guía permitiría generar ahorros para las empresas y facilitar el avance en estos procesos. Esta investigación aporta a la sostenibilidad empresarial en pymes, proponiendo herramientas adaptadas a las necesidades de estas empresas y contribuyendo a los ODS.
dc.description.abstract	Adopting sustainable practices involves a comprehensive commitment that encompasses economic, environmental, and social aspects, and constitutes a fundamental strategy for achieving long-term business competitiveness. Therefore, promoting sustainability across all economic sectors is essential to foster conscious and responsible growth. Based on this premise, this work presents the adaptation of a Guide for the design and communication of sustainable strategies, focused on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the service sector in Colombia. The project was developed by applying the guide in a legal consulting firm specialized in environmental matters, aiming to evaluate its effectiveness, identify potential improvements, and propose adjustments for effective implementation. Through a qualitative case study methodology, the research included a literature review, a pilot test of the guide, and a survey of 30 service-sector SMEs in Medellín and Barranquilla. The results revealed that, although there is interest in sustainability within the sector, barriers such as limited resources, lack of specialized knowledge, and restricted access to information still persist. The pilot test helped identify the strengths and limitations of the guide, leading to proposals for improvements in the tools, as well as the structure and clarity of the instructions. Moreover, it was found that using the guide could generate cost savings for companies and facilitate progress in sustainability processes. This research contributes to corporate sustainability in SMEs by proposing tools adapted to the needs of these businesses and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
