Resumen
This document aims to guide the energy efficiency of systems and equipment commonly used in transportation infrastructure and its associated buildings, with the objective of contributing to the sustainability, viability, and long-term viability of this infrastructure. This will result in an improved quality of life for both those who use these systems and those who interact with their surroundings, reducing the environmental footprint generated to meet mobility needs.
Based on the National Policy for Sustainable Buildings, this guide aligns with the commitments made in the international sustainable development agenda, particularly regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with an emphasis on Goal 11 on sustainable cities and communities and Goal 12 on ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns. The aim is to identify aspects that are consistent with international guidelines and current national regulations.
The aspects identified in this document focus on transportation system infrastructure, given their intended purpose of guiding the structuring, planning, construction, and operation phases. Likewise, this document establishes best engineering practices that reduce electricity consumption, thereby lowering the costs associated with the various devices that enable the proper functioning of transportation infrastructure.

Este documento pretende orientar la eficiencia energética de los sistemas y equipos comúnmente utilizados en la infraestructura de transporte y sus edificaciones conexas, con el objetivo de contribuir a la sostenibilidad, la viabilidad y la permanencia de esta infraestructura en el tiempo, redundando en el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida tanto de quienes hacemos uso de los mismos, como de quienes interactúan con su entorno, reduciendo la huella ambiental generada para satisfacer las necesidades de movilidad.
Teniendo como fundamento la Política Nacional de Edificaciones Sostenibles, esta guía se alinea al cumplimiento de los compromisos asumidos en la agenda internacional de desarrollo sostenible, en especial en lo referente al cumplimiento de los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible (ODS), con énfasis en el objetivo 11 sobre ciudades y comunidades sostenibles y el objetivo 12 de garantizar modalidades de consumo y producción sostenibles, con el fin de identificar los aspectos que van en armonía con los lineamientos internacionales, y la normatividad nacional vigente.
Los aspectos identificados en este documento se enfatizan en la infraestructura de los sistemas de transporte, dada la intencionalidad de guiar las fases de estructuración, planificación, construcción y operación de estos.
Igualmente, este documento establece las mejores prácticas de ingeniería que permiten reducir el consumo de energía eléctrica, disminuyendo los costos asociados a la utilización de los diferentes dispositivos que permiten el funcionamiento adecuado de la infraestructura de transporte.
