dc.descriptionEl presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo conocer las representaciones sociales de la maternidad y su incidencia en la decisión de tener hijos, a través de la realización de entrevistas semiestructuradas a un grupo de mujeres -- Las representaciones sociales serán abordadas a partir de la definición que hace de ellas Moscovici, quien sostiene que están compuestas por tres dimensiones: la información, la actitud y el campo de representación; para finalmente contrastarlas con la decisión de tener hijos -- Con respecto a la maternidad, la investigación previa muestra que es un concepto que ha cambiado y sigue cambiando a lo largo de los años, según las culturas y la época -- Las entrevistas fueron realizadas a cuatro mujeres entre los 20 y 24 años, los resultados indican que tienen una representación de la maternidad positiva y están a favor de ella, pese a ello les parece que la maternidad es un proceso de acompañamiento que dura toda la vida y requiere grandes esfuerzos, para ellas se trata de una gran responsabilidad por lo cual se les dificulta definirla -- Sin embargo, todas las mujeres entrevistadas desean ser madres algún día, aunque esto no está en sus planes a corto plazo, ya que quieren primero prepararse mejor para ello y alcanzar un mejor desarrollo profesional y personalspa
