Currently, public passenger transportation companies need to increase their revenues, improve the quality of the service provided, and reduce operating and maintenance costs. At the same time, with the rise of the fourth industrial revolution, the integration of information and communication technologies is necessary to improve the performance of the operation and maintenance of the transportation system. Therefore, the purpose of this formative research project is to integrate decisions oriented to the maintenance and operation of public transportation systems, while fostering cognitive and research skills in the members of the participating research groups. Expected results include participation in international events on social appropriation of knowledge and the design of a decision-making model for transportation systems.
