Ítem Estudio de prefactibilidad para la creación de una institución prestadora de servicios de hospitalización en Antioquia, Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Quintana Puerta, Julián Esteban; Salazar Gómez, Francisco Javier; Uribe de Ochoa, Beatriz AmparoIn rural areas of Colombia, there are some entry barriers to the healthcare system, and the access to specialized medical care is much lower than it is for people in the urban areas, so the quality of care and their life expectancy are worse. Telemedicine could be an alternative way of enhancing the access to medical specialties. This Project evaluated the pre-factibility of creating a medical center with coverage in various towns of Antioquia and with a wide usage of telemedicine, to facilitate the access of patients of the rural areas of the department, to specialized attention. To evaluate the feasibility of such institution, secundary sources of public access were reviewed, and with them, were elaborated the following studies: environment analysis, market research, administrative and juridical analysis. The gathered information was compiled and used to make financial projections, and it was concluded that, for a 5 year period, with the great capital expenditure required for the functioning of three peripheral centers of operations and the headquarters in Medellin, the implementation of an enterprise as the one that was proposed in this project is not feasible. Also, the uncertain environment that is surrounding the healthcare sector in Colombia and specifically, with the projected reforms of the healthcare system, the risk increases exponentially, making unfeasible the proposed medical center. It is possible that, with a longer time horizon and in an environment with lower uncertainty, the project might be feasible, but that is out of the scope of this paper.Ítem Estudio de prefactibilidad para la provisión de servicios de salud por telemedicina / teleasistencia a población con limitaciones de acceso a los servicios de salud en Miami Dade, Estados Unidos(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Jiménez Ramírez, Sebastián; Salazar Gómez, Francisco; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz AmparoThere is a large vulnerable population living in the United States that has limited access to conventional health services in that country. Considering the described scenario and health as a fundamental right that every person should be able to enjoy, a pre-feasibility analysis of a business idea that provides health services through care modalities such as telemedicine and telecare from Colombia for such population located in the state of Florida, United States, was proposed as a degree work. To achieve the proposed objective, an analysis was carried out focused on the different studies defined by the UNIDO methodology as fundamental for such purpose. The analysis was carried out in the following components: Environmental study, market study, technical study, administrative-organizational study, legal study, and financial study. At the end of the exercise, it was found that the idea described is viable, being the financial component the most relevant since it is the one that guarantees the effective monetization of the business model. According to the above and without prejudice to the importance of the other components, it is concluded that for the business idea to be viable and become a consistent reality in a company, a minimum number of people must be guaranteed to subscribe to the management platform of the model with a defined monthly payment, starting from a basal exchange rate.Ítem Telemedicina y democratización de la salud(Universidad EAFIT, 2020-08-16) Arango Aramburo, José Fernando; Hospital Pablo Tobón Uribe
