The assessment follows the methodology of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), which includes eight core analyses. The market study identifies growing demand for products such as coconut oil, milk, and flour, driven by health and cosmetic trends. The technical study outlines production processes, equipment needs, and optimal location. The organizational study defines the administrative and operational structure. The legal study reviews regulatory requirements and permits. The environmental study assesses potential impacts and proposes sustainability measures. The economic study estimates investment and operating costs. The financial study projects key indicators such as an IRR of 56,8% and a Net Present Value (NPV) of COP 108 million, confirming the project’s feasibility. Finally, the risk analysis identifies critical threats such as raw material supply shortages and logistics issues, alongside proposed mitigation strategies. In addition to the UNIDO methodology, complementary tools such as the General Adjusted Methodology (MGA)—commonly used for public investment projects—were explored. However, UNIDO’s comprehensive and industry-focused framework was selected as the most suitable. The study focuses on three coconut-derived products: oil, milk, and flour, chosen for their strong market demand and broad application. The analysis confirms a clear market opportunity, especially in the healthy food and natural cosmetics sectors. In terms of territorial impact, the project is expected to bring significant benefits to both Bogotá—through job creation and commercial activity—and Chocó, by strengthening local production chains, generating rural employment, and adding value to the coconut as a regional resource. The financial, social, and environmental results suggest that the project is technically and economically feasible, with strong potential for long-term sustainability if managed strategically. This study provides a solid foundation for decision-making by investors, development agencies, and the communities involved.Publicación Evaluación y cuantificación del impacto social en proyectos WASH de agua potable en Colombia : caso Aquavida(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Caro Garcia, Mónica María; Ospina Restrepo, Paola Andrea; Carrero Rivera, Diana MarcelaEnsuring sustainable and equitable access to water and sanitation is a global concern, which is reflected in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6. Globally, progress in access to safe drinking water services is notable but insufficient. It is expected that by 2030 only 81% of the world's population will have access to safe drinking water in their homes. Colombia is part of this challenge; In the year 2023, it is reported that 25% of the country's population has inadequate access to drinking water service, with rural areas being the most affected. The programs developed by non-governmental organizations become relevant in this context, as is the case of Aquavida of the Grupo Argos Foundation, through the delivery of clay filters for purification to families in remote areas of the country. To validate the social impact of this program, we took surveys and interviews from a sample of the beneficiary population in the 8 departments of Colombia to estimate, from a multivariate model, the relationship between the use of the clay filter and the possible reduction in illnesses and reduction of expenses at home. The evidence allows us to infer that WASH programs, such as clay filters in populations with a lack of access and water quality, show benefits in terms of social impact and an increase in economic savings; on the other hand, they allow us infer that there is a weak relationship between the perception of water quality and the reduction of diseases. On the other hand, a significant relationship is observed between economic savings in families due to reduced expenses for purchasing water or purchasing gas/electricity and the good use and condition of the clay filter, added to a positive perception of the water in the filter, being families with incomes less than 0.4 SMMLV. who experience a greater positive impact in reducing expenses. This allows us to infer that the good use of the filter generates a good perception in families of having drinking water for consumption, therefore this condition allows generating economic savings by avoiding the purchase of bagged or bottled water or the purchase of gas or electricity.Ítem El futuro nos habla... y en EAFIT dialogamos con él(Medellín : Universidad EAFIT, 2023-03-27) Restrepo Montoya, Claudia Patricia; Escobar Arango, David; Universidad EAFIT; Universidad EAFIT; ComfamaPublicación Gamificación y asociación simple para la educación ambiental desde las perspectivas del mercadeo digital y las actitudes de las empresas(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Ramírez Moreno, Erica; Acevedo Mejía, Erika Cristina; Mejía Gil, Maria ClaudiaPublicación Gerencia social y sostenibilidad. In this context, the purpose of the research was to develop a tool to implement sustainable practices in urban residential developments, aligned with the SDGs, their goals and the daily actions that can contribute from this scale. A pilot scenario was selected where primary information was collected through observation and participatory methodologies with key actors, to diagnose its current state in sustainability and build a roadmap towards more sustainable individual and collective behaviors. Based on the understanding of SDGs goals, the pilot, experts’ interviews and strategic planning, the tool was developed including a SWOT analysis, a materiality matrix and a communication plan. Its articulated implementation provides a solid basis for managing the whole with sustainable criteria and supporting more informed decisions for the urban residential developments. It was identified that sustainability in this housing model depends on the synergy between individual and collective actions, existence of incentives, as well as effective mechanisms of participation and communication. In addition, dialogue with stakeholders such as the real estate guild and government entities strengthens trust and facilitates the articulation of sustainable practices, aligned with the regulatory framework that regulates this residential regime in the country. Slow, a B2B2C company, was born from the lack of knowledge on the part of people and companies about the proper management of textile waste, seeking to be their best ally in the collection of waste, transforming it, reintegrating it into the chain, and, finally, raising awareness about this industry. Therefore, this work studies fast fashion, its beginnings, the changes and the impact it causes on society and the environment, as well as the proposal of slow fashion as an alternative to mitigate these impacts, starting from a society that is increasingly aware of the processes of companies, their raw materials and their commitment to the environment. In this way, a qualitative research will be carried out with small, medium and large textile industry companies in the city of Medellin, with the aim of analyzing their brand philosophy, processes, generation and management of waste, as well as their knowledge of regulatory laws. With the above, it is expected to have information about the awareness of these companies regarding the products they make and their impact; the strategies or alternatives for the waste they generate; their knowledge and clarity about the laws that will begin to govern around this issue; and, finally, their willingness to pay for a waste collection service taking into account the new regulations.Publicación Sostenibilidad ambiental con enfoque de riesgos en algunas empresas del sector farmacéutico en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Gómez Acevedo, Luz Adriana; Vargas de la Hoz, María Camila; Guerrero Latorre, Jorge ArleyThe study was designed to explore the coexistence between the implementation of environmental sustainability and risk management in some companies in the pharmaceutical sector in Colombia. Environmental conservation and legislative compliance are becoming more important every day, such that the design and implementation of these systems has become a key factor for the competitiveness of companies in the pharmaceutical sector, however, the requirements Existing regulatory frameworks are mainly aimed at processing the information necessary for management from an economic point of view (Gainza, 2009). Today, companies need to fully integrate sustainability and risk management into their organizational strategy, not only to minimize potential losses but also to explore new business opportunities that arise from the sustainability agenda (Yilmaz and Floriz, 2009). . This research was developed through a qualitative study, with the design of a questionnaire of closed questions, which was distributed to eight companies in the pharmaceutical sector in Colombia, being able to establish that there is coexistence between the implementation of environmental sustainability and the management of risks in the companies evaluated, taking into account that there are two areas in each of them (environmental and risks), demonstrating that there is joint work in relation to the achievements of environmental objectives and risk management.
