Ítem Diseño de una oficina de gestión de proyectos (PMO) para la empresa MAPFRE Seguros Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2017) Ibarra Mosquera, Diego; Gómez Salazar, Elkin ArcesioMAPFRE Colombia is a multinational insurance company with a presence in Colombia in the last 3 decades, consolidating since its arrival in our country as one of the largest insurers, offering a wide portfolio in insurance products, assistance, reinsurance, credit insurance And making an important contribution in research and experimentation in the automotive area, through CESVI Colombia SA, an entity over which it has control and shares its participation with other companies in the sector in search of improving road safety in the country. It is a company with high budget allocation to projects that seek the fulfillment of objectives aligned to the strategy of the organization, however, with evidence of inefficiencies in the execution of projects that give rise to the initiative to set up a project management office Aligned to the Global PMO constituted by the portfolio, methodological and project management PMOs found in the headquarters - Spain. Office of project management that must obey the guidelines of governance that are inherited from the Global PMO, however with the independence that allows to maximize the efficiency in execution of projects according to the local context.Publicación El seguro de responsabilidad civil médica como herramienta de administración de riesgos para los profesionales de la salud especializados en ginecología y obstetricia(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Álvarez Diazgranados, Alejandra; Díaz Acevedo, Juan Camilo; Toro Mejía, Juan Pablo; Harley Guerrero, Jorge; Villanueva, Eduart HumbertoÍtem Elementos esenciales del seguro(Universidad EAFIT, 1968) Velásquez Sierra, Mario; Universidad EAFITPublicación Fuzzy Model for Risk Characterization in Avocado Crops for Index Insurance Configuration(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Jiménez Benjumea, Juan Pablo; López Giraldo, Laura Isabel; Peña Palacio, Juan AlejandroClimate change has caused strong variations in agro-climatic parameters such as precipitation, temperature, and relative humidity, accelerating the phytosanitary conditions associated with agricultural crops, mainly in insect pests, since these generate an alteration in their life cycle and an increase in their population. This causes significant economic damage to important crops such as the Hass avo- cado, which has had a growing development and demand in national and inter- national markets, which has generated significant income for small and medium- sized farmers and exporters of this fruit in the country. To mitigate the impacts of climate change on agricultural production, it is possible to implement digital agriculture technologies. These technologies allow estimating the incidence of climate variations on crops through the monitoring of agro-climatic and phyto- sanitary variables that affect fruit growth. Therefore, a variable dispersion model with fuzzy characterization is proposed that seeks to establish a correlation be- tween rainfall and the aggregate distribution of losses in the Hass avocado crop. In order to analyze and validate the proposed model, the random variables related to phytosanitary risk were taken and characterized. Subsequently, the frequency and severity random variables were modeled as linguistic random variables using fuzzy logic concepts. The results indicate that rainfall is the key variable to cor- relate in the search for an index insurance model based on agricultural risk, as well as in the characterization of qualitative and quantitative risks, promoting the improvement of financial and environmental sustainability by reducing agricul- tural losses through better crop management.Publicación Impacto de la economía del comportamiento en la práctica de actividad física como estrategia de prevención del riesgo cardiovascular(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Sánchez Gómez, Cristian Orlando; Rodríguez Muñoz, Luisa Fernanda; Arango Ochoa, JuliánThis work aims to design and apply behavioral economics strategies that help to encourage the practice of physical activity to reduce cardiovascular risk. For this purpose, qualitative and quantitative elements are used to understand the main barriers to the practice of physical activity, from preferences, beliefs, and information processing biases. The main behavioral biases found from the ethnographic analysis are the Status quo, overconfidence and temporal inconsistency or short-termism. From the experimental analysis, that consisted of developing a sports challenge and other experiments or nudges, primary data on the behavior of the clients was obtained. For the evaluation of the nudges, econometric models were built, which delivered the following results: 1) participation in a sports challenge is a nudge and could be a good incentive for changing the behavior of physical activity. 2) other types of tactics, such as handing over more redeemable points or deployment to implementation intentions, show no substantial difference when it comes to incentivizing behavior change. This research is a good input for the design of reward models in the insurance industry.Publicación Impacto del riesgo cibernético en el segmento mipyme(Universidad EAFIT, 2018) Villa Mesa, Sara; Hurtado Rendón, Álvaro Arturo; Mejía Mejía, AndrésÍtem Incentivos económicos para la elección empresarial entre contratos de servicios de asistencia y contratos de seguro : análisis de su naturaleza jurídica y diferencias contractuales(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Paredes Duque, Sara; Vélez Villegas, Juan EstebanThis study focuses on identifying the economic incentives that may influence business owners' choice between conducting their business activities through insurance contracts or assistance service contracts, from a legal and economic perspective. To achieve this, the differences and similarities in the legal nature of both types of contractual modalities are examined in order to determine whether these differences are significant enough to consider them as substantially distinct concepts that require separate regulations. With this analysis, conclusions are drawn regarding the impact of insurance activity regulations on the market actors' behavior in choosing the contractual modality to use.Publicación La gestión de riesgos de individuos de ingresos bajos del Valle de Aburrá : una perspectiva de la toma de decisiones(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Correa Castaño, Lina Marcela; Manrique Tisnés, HoracioThis work aims to identify how low-income individuals in the Aburrá Valley manage risks. The theoretical pillars are decision making: origin of decisions, cognitive biases, social relationships, behavioral finance. Its used information of clients of the insurance sector: from the statistical application of the decision tree and cluster analysis, with variables of characterization and assurance status and application of interview protocol in the communities with phenomenological-hermeneutical analysis and ethnographic method. As findings and conclusions we have that risk preferences of low-income individuals are formed with the family narrative and may vary with age as a determining factor. At the same time, risk management depends on the risk profiles formed, the own experience with the materialization of risks, the community narrative and, and just in few instances, the search for formal information and the knowledge of other institutions. The study is only limited to low-income individuals: stratum 1 and 2 in Medellin metropolitan area. Other subsequent studies should analyze other socio-economic segments and other regions of the country. Additionally, this paper can serve as input for decision-making manuals through experience in communitiesPublicación Predicción de deserción de clientes en el mercado de seguros de transporte de carga en Estados Unidos mediante técnicas de Machine Learning : un caso de estudio(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Uribe Durango, Víctor Ricardo; Almonacid Hurtado, Paula MaríaPublicación Problemas prácticos en la reclamación de los seguros en los procesos de responsabilidad fiscal en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Restrepo Mesa, Ana María; Estrada Escobar, Luis FelipeÍtem El seguro de muerte para trabajadores oficiales del decreto 1083 de 2015(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Hadad López, Camilo; Isaza Lema, Daniela; Gómez Molina, Diana María
