Ítem Análisis del proceso de implementación del proyecto de intoxicación por plomo en el Callao(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Martínez Monge, Franco; Vargas Sáenz, Mario EnriqueStudies conducted by the General Division of Environmental Health of the Ministry of Health (DIGESA) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) confirm that the children living and studying around mining deposits in Callao have been exposed lead pollution and observe large amounts of lead in their blood, a condition that affects both their health and their development opportunities. In this context, the Regional Government of Callao decided to implement the project "Control of lead poisoning to students of affected schools in Callao". The objective of the project is to reduce the effects of lead in children´s blood both with the environmental hygiene and adequate nutrition. There is no information that reports the progress of the project not the effectiveness of such policy. In this sense, this thesis aims to generate information on this regard and, in particular, the successes and failures in its implementation. Results suggest that although the beneficiaries value the project and consider that it has impacted student motivation and vitality and has sensitized parents on the existing problem and how to approach it, the project does not show improvements on health or education due to low implementation of good nutritional and environmental practices at home. The evidence generated by this research is relevant for the Regional Government of Callao since it identifies successes and failures in the implementation of the project and highlights the need to modify or strengthen it to achieve the expected objectives. This is particularly urgent, as new reports of lead contamination in other districts of Callao arise, which, in addition to requiring further regulation, may require such intervention to minimize the negative impact of the transit of minerals through the port of Callao.Ítem Análisis y corrección de datos Ceilómetro Vaisala CL 51 para la caracterización de propiedades ópticas de aerosoles atmosféricos(Universidad Eafit, 2019) Areiza Cardona, Juan Diego; Montílla Rosero, ElenaÍtem Aprendizaje automático para la identificación mineralógica de material particulado - Bogotá, Cali y Valle de Aburrá (Colombia)(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Gutiérrez Silva, Juan Alberto; Duque Trujillo, José FernandoIdentifying the mineral components present in particulate matter can be of great help to understand the dynamics of air pollution, especially to detect the presence of minerals that are dangerous for inhalation (such as asbestos). In this work is developed a methodology for the clustering of chemical data obtained through scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDX) in samples located in Bogota, Cali and Valle de Aburrá (Colombia). Rausch et al. (2022) and Avellaneda et al. (2020) develop and apply a methodology based on random forest algorithms to separate categories of particles, including minerals. In this work, a generalized algorithm based on DBSCAN is proposed as a complement. It allowed to analyze a set of 3716 samples previously classified as "mineral". The results reveal the presence of at least 15 different minerals. Despite a relatively low classification effectiveness (~20%), this work represents a significant advance in this area, as precedents are few or non-existent for this type of application. It is notable, also, that the presence of Serpentine (Antigorite variety) was detected in Medellín. The findings of this study reveal that most of the particles correspond to quartz, calcite, kaolinite and plagioclase. Despite the limitations, the algorithm demonstrates its effectiveness in mineral identification. However, improvements that could increase its accuracy are recognized. Overall, this study establishes a starting point for future chemical characterization analyses of particulate matter.Ítem Captura de material particulado 1, 2.5 y 10 micras, con el uso de microalgas en fotobiorreactores exteriores(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Mazo Zapata, Santiago; Miranda Parra, Alejandra María; Miranda Parra, Alejandra MaríaParticulate matter (PM), made up of a variety of organic and inorganic substances, is found to be harmful to human health. Due to its small size, this combination of substances can enter the body by the respiratory route and cause all kinds of related diseases, such as lung cancer, trachea, esophagus. In addition to this, the 1 micron particles can enter the circulatory system and cause associated problems such as stroke and cardiovascular damage. As a result of this, especially in the mainly affected cities, such as Medellín, they will come looking for methods to deal with this problem, suggesting the use of cutting-edge technology to try to largely solve PM contamination, however, the contributions that are They have made an impact on closed spaces, without identifying that they can be very expensive to maintain, on the other hand, a level outside the city or in outdoor conditions. The use of technology has been very low, and containment measures translate into social and mobility strategies such as spike and plate extension. In this study, the use of technology in outdoor conditions is proposed, through the use of photobioreactors and microalgae to evaluate the capture potential that these microorganisms have in the capture of this PM and how it is possible to extrapolate it as a future solution to use it in The city of Medellín. As a conclusion of the experiment, it was found that the Scenedesmus Obliquus ATCC 457 microalgae (S. Obliquss ATCC 457) could grow up to 1.52 g / L and retain up to 61.07% of PM 1, 65.45% of PM 2.5 and 87.01% of PM 10.Ítem Efectos del proceso de integración de la biofilia y la arquitectura en el bienestar de las personas en el Valle de Aburrá(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Cadavid Suárez, José Mateo; Zapata Múnera, Abraham UrielÍtem Evaluación del plan municipal de gestión del riesgo de desastres en el Municipio de Colosó (Sucre)(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Arrieta Pérez, Dana Giessele; Rhenals, KatherineÍtem Herramienta de laboratorio para la caracterización óptica de aerosoles atmosféricos(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Bolaños Marín, Daniela; Montilla Rosero, ElenaÍtem Measurements of urban aerosol properties by developing a scanning depolarization lidar system(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Hoyos Restrepo, Manuela; Montilla Rosero, Elena
