La metodología utilizada combina lo cualitativo con lo cuantitativÍtem Análisis del estado actual en el manejo de residuos sólidos en Antioquia(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Castro Guamán, Julio Orlando; Vargas Saenz, Mario EnriqueÍtem Bavaria : una empresa comprometida con el ambiente : propuesta para disminuir el impacto ambiental del uso de botellas plástico PET(2019) Ramos Franco, Stefania; Mejía Gil, María ClaudiaChanges in the global environmental situation have prompted companies to develop a strong interest in sustainability and circular economy issues. In particular, in the company Bavaria there is an interest in seeking opportunities for the use and re-incorporation of many of its packaging materials, whether they are trying to use them in their own products or through the use and exploitation in alternative products. Specifically, in the present project the PET material of the amber bottles will be analyzed, material that is currently used for the production of a part of the volume of Pony Malta, and whose volume has a significant market share, which is why the material acquire importance in circular economy projects. For this reason, there is a need to establish and evaluate different alternatives that the company can execute, in order to give options for reuse and exploitation in order to fulfill its sustainability and responsibility commitment towards the environment. To achieve this, a qualitative analysis was carried out supported by semi-structured interviews with six experts, where it is intended to know de the experience of each of them issues related not only to the legal context of use of plastic material in the massive consumption sector and how this impacts operations of PET bottles market, but also alternatives for use of PET bottles post-consumption where it is relevant to identify the best proposal for this material, as well as identifying key allies to identify the strategy proposed for Bavaria succeed. The final result showed that de all alternatives only one of them seemed to be the optimal, since it is the only one that would guarantee a significant use of the post-consumption material of PET bottles, and, although it is not the only alternative, according to the interviewees it is the most viable and sustainable. However, in order to execute, Bavaria must work on several aspects: first, together with the government, they must define whether PET bottles are considered single-use plastics, since this would have repercussions on the country's laws; secondly, it must work hand in hand with other actors in the PET bottle cycle chain, to work on consumer education issues in order to increase the volume of waste that people separation at home; and thirdly, it must define the physical and economic means with which the project will be developed, moreover the key allies with which it must work during the process.Ítem Clasificación de residuos para niños en etapa preescolar : una apuesta por la educación ambiental temprana(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Londoño Osorio , Laura; Henao Loaiza, Marta Lucía; Vélez Zapata, SaraEnvironmental education is part of the essential alternatives to try to take care of the planet. In this intervention we work with 5 and 6 year old children, belonging to the preschool grade of an educational institution in the city of Medellín, applying a series of activities focused on teaching the proper classification of waste generated during school snacks (constant source of waste), specifically in the consumption of the industrialized ration (IR) of the school feeding program (PAE). In the diagnosis and design stages of this project, we use tools from the wheel of behavioral change and the EAST methodological framework, under the premise of clear, simple and attractive communication with the children's audience. To measure the impact of the intervention, we applied pre- and post-test qualitative instruments, resulting in a significant change in this behavior, making it possible to reduce the environmental footprint of the educational institution. We conclude that it is possible to incorporate the appropriate classification of waste in this population group, taking into account the specific context and complying with conditions such as: the instruction of basic knowledge, the use of altruistic motivation focused on tender messages and the provision of elements that help overcome physical barriers. Furthermore, children easily appropriate this type of knowledge and show enthusiasm for sustainable activities. We recommend the inclusion of environmental education programs from the beginning of the academic stages, and the strengthening of different pro-environmental initiatives related to waste management.Ítem Design of a Network of Reverse Logistics: Case Study Usochicamocha – Boyacá(Universidad EAFIT, 2017-11-14) Silva Rodríguez, Julián David; Universidad de BoyacáÍtem Estrategia de negocio para incrementar la oferta de materiales aprovechables, tales como polipropileno y polietileno, con los recicladores de oficio en Cartagena(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Crismatt Corena, Carlos José; Álvarez Diazgranados, Alejandra; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz Amparo; Delgado Restrepo, Ricardo de JesúsCurrently, the country faces enormous challenges both in terms of solid waste management and in the implementation of strategies and public policies regarding the circular economy and the use of materials to increase recycling rates. In recent years, and since 2018, Colombia has proposed to increase its capacity to reuse garbage by implementing Resolution 1407, with which the Government regulates environmental management and establishes the commitment that companies must collect packaging and containers. of paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, and metal that they put on the market. All this is due to the report on the Final Disposal of Waste from the National Planning Department (DNP) presented in 2020, in which it is reported that 12 million tons of solid waste were generated in the country in 2019 and only 16.5% were recycled. During the development of this research, this problem was addressed; for this, different tools were applied that allowed the analysis of the internal variables and the environment of the Esenttia company, a plastic resin company located in the city of Cartagena focused on the production and commercialization of polypropylene and polyethylene; Its business model in which it promotes the sustainable transformation of society was also analyzed. All the above, to formulate a business strategy that increases the supply of usable materials, such as polypropylene and polyethylene, to generate a shared value between the company and trade recyclers in Cartagena.Ítem Estudio de factibilidad para la instalación de una planta de fabricación de hidroxicloruro de aluminio (ACH) a partir de aluminio reciclado en Perú(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Contreras Peña, Andrés Felipe; Velásquez Motta, Didier; Pérez Restrepo, Camilo AlbertoÍtem Evaluación de las propiedades térmicas, reológicas y mecánicas de mezclas entre HDPE virgen con HDPE reciclado(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Gómez Sandoval, Juan Camilo; González Villa, Sandra MilenaThe rheological, thermal, morphological and mechanical properties of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) are studied in virgin/recycled mixtures from the implementation of a mechanical recycling process of plastic guides, used as coupling devices in used plaster molds. in the ceramic industry. Despite finding losses in its properties, the feasibility of mixing with virgin and recycled material is demonstrated, still being useful for multiple applications.Ítem Factores críticos de éxito de una asociación de recicladores en Perú a través del cambio hacia la formalización : estudio de caso de la ARSEMIM en el distrito de Miraflores – Lima al 2018(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Rentería Sacha, José Manuel; Vargas Sáenz, Mario EnriqueThis research focuses its analysis on the weakest link in the recycling value chain: the waste pickers. Peru is the first country in the world to enact a law for waste pickers called the Waste Picker Regulation Act, which was passed in 2009. Since then, numerous waste picker associations have risen up all across the country. However, today most of them are confronted with a series of difficulties with their formalization and sustainability. This situation places them at a disadvantage within the new national stage as the recycling industry develops under the Integrated Solid Waste Management Act passed in 2016. The law promotes and facilitates the entry of the private sector in order to move the industry forward. Thus, companies entering the market in their quest to obtain recycling material for processing will compete with the waste picker associations. For this reason, the study proposes the need to know what is required to help the waste picker associations close the gaps in order to attain formalization, and so improve their opportunities for growth and sustainability. The researchers for the “Señor de los Milagros de Miraflores” [ARSEMIM] Waste Picker Association Case Study work jointly with the Trash Program, which is not part of the Miraflores Municipality Trash (Lima). First, the study analyzes the variables present at the initial stage when waste pickers were informal, and later examines the variables that are part of the waste pickers’ formal stage as an association. The data collection techniques and tools are: semi-structured interviews, a timeline workshop, field observation, and a review of documents. The study’s results will identify ARSEMIM’s critical success factors based on the process of change towards formalization that would contribute to their sustainability.Ítem Intervención comportamental para fomentar que los funcionarios asistentes al Edificio Inteligente de EPM conocieran e implementaran el nuevo código nacional para la correcta disposición de los residuos sólidos desde la fuente en su lugar de trabajo(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Vargas Arias, Carlos Andrés; Ángel Toro, Carolina; Yarce Mesa, Sara Isabel; Velásquez Medina, AlejandraSeeking to solve the problem presented at a global level by the poor disposal of solid waste, a behavioral intervention was designed and carried out in the EPM Intelligent Building, headquarters of the Public Companies of Medellín, from now on EPM. With this, the knowledge and application of the new national code for waste disposal from the source was promoted, in which the Government, under resolution 2148 of 2019, stipulates that waste must be separated into white containers (recyclable), black (non- usable) and green (usable organics). The intervention was developed in two phases, the first focused on education and the second on altruism. In both phases, actions framed in the EAST and Mindspace models were carried out, reducing friction for the performance of the objective behavior. Two surveys were carried out, at the beginning and at the end, and also six measurements, the first before the start of the intervention as a baseline, the second at the end of Phase 1, three measurements during Phase 2 and the sixth measurement at the end of this Phase; through said monitoring, the obtained results indicated that officials were motivated to carry out the objective behavior and that barriers such as ignorance were eliminated. In addition to the previous information, a dynamic norm that promoted behavior change among officials was generated; it occurred when they observed that their colleagues were carrying out the promoted action. Regarding the decrease in the level of poorly separated waste, improvements that varied with the weeks in which the intervention was carried out were obtained, although the baseline was not exceeded for various reasons, the significant improvement that was observed stands out in the case of the white container, which shows the intention to change to carry out a correct disposal of recyclable waste.Ítem Proceso de ASC - OPTIMIZACION DEL PROCESO DE FABRICACION, PRODUCCION Y RECICLADO DE LA ARCILLA INDUSTRIAL DE PROTOTIPADO CLAY-FASE 2(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Acosta, Juan; Franco, Natalia; Betancur, Sofía; Agredo, Andrés; Sierra, Luis; Universidad EAFIT“Industrial or prototyping clays” (Industrial Clay) are materials malleable and moldable to make three-dimensional models; and offer great versatility; since they can be worked either manually (sculpted) or digital (CNC routed); and due to their properties it is possible to use and reuse them again, without having to waste material or discard already made models during the process. The present project; For its part, it aims to standardize a production and recycling process of this material and take it to a larger scale in order to allow a much higher production and recycling volume. Through workflows and methods to industrialize and optimize processes. All the above with the purpose of increasing the capacity and quality of the current production and recycling of clay. Thus allowing you to reach great scales.Ítem Utilización de desechos textiles para la industria de la construcción(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) López Cadavid, Ángela María; Zapata Múnera, Abraham Uriel
