This research is a qualitative type, with a hermeneutic approach, meaning this, from the discourse comprehension of the interviewees, based on the idea of that a hermeneutic methodology consists in construct hermeneutic spirals of possible interpretations and appreciations of the that were read and the interviews that were made. The research question was if the type of hiring influences in the work motivation of the public sector employees, and the research problem raised was if nowadays, work motivation within all companies is an important factor to boost labor force, for that reason, it can be seen the need to analyze if the public sector, where different types of hiring are used, work motivation is affected or not by the contract modality, additionally, study the advantages and disadvantages that these modalities has and the respective perception of the public sector employees. The results show that public sector employee’s perception is not favorable regarding the work motivation, but it’s not only linked to the hiring type, but also to the lack of implementation of motivational strategies. From this, is concluded that the public sector must stablish a motivational strategy according to the people working in the sector entities, depending on their needs and priorities; this, avoiding discrimination by the type of hiring.
