Electrical infrastructure is a fundamental pillar for the economic and social development of any country. In Colombia, the transformer market has evolved significantly in recent years, driven by growing energy demand, the expansion of exports, and technological advancements. In this context, electrical transformers play a crucial role in ensuring an efficient and stable power supply. However, the domestic supply of these devices still faces challenges related to production capacity, cost competitiveness, and compliance with international standards. To address these limitations, the potential establishment of a national factory is proposed, capable of producing high-quality, efficient, and competitive equipment. The pre-feasibility analysis will follow the methodology developed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (ONUDI), recognized for its comprehensive approach to evaluating whether the necessary conditions are met to justify further development.
