To analyze the implementation of mindfulness practices in the psychotherapeutic work of a group of DBT psychologists in Medellín, Colombia. Conceptual References. The concepts of mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), the integration of mindfulness into DBT, mindfulness efficacy, and the Colombian context of DBT therapy are described. Method. This qualitative study employed a semi-structured interview as its main instrument, conducted with five clinical psychologists specializing in DBT, based in the city of Medellín. Results. The findings of this research highlight the crucial role of mindfulness in DBT as a tool to strengthen emotional regulation and support patients in developing skills to live more fully and consciously. Therapists describe this integration not merely as a technical practice but as an approach grounded in self-understanding and conscious presence. In order to do this, seven semi-structured interviews were conducted and analyzed through the phenomenological hermeneutical method. The principal findings indicate that the education based on the analytical method contributes to the eagerness to learn and take responsibility from students and graduates, as well as to be respectful of each other's words and singularity, while having an open, unprejudiced attitude and an ethical behavior. All of the above is reflected in the clinical practice, as per the graduate’s own experience. Method: Qualitative research with a descriptive and transversal approach, developed in the manner of a case study, based on semi-structured interviews, with nine subjects who have completed or are at an advanced stage of their analysis process. Results: it was observed that, the most significant gains derived from the analysis are the reduction of suffering and the conquest of desire, in addition, the cure arises as a therapeutic effect. Conclusions: The therapeutic effects are produced both personally and in relation to others and from the beginning to the end of analysis, intervening and transforming the initial reasons and symptoms that lead a subject to make the decision to analyze.
