For mitigating its effects, businesses play an equally fundamental role as countries; however, national and international regulation on this issue is insufficient in relation to the needs. Currently, the legal framework on this matter lacks the necessary specificity to ensure the accountability of the private sector in combating the effects of climate change. This situation allows many companies to evade their environmental responsibilities, compromising global efforts. This document aims to identify legal deficiencies and propose possible solutions to strengthen the legal framework regarding the role of the private sector in mitigating the effects of climate change.Ítem Ecosistema de innovación social de Comuna Project : un proyecto de investigación con resultados replicables y escalables(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Correa Agudelo, David Fernando; Muñoz, YaromirAn Intrinsic Case Study was carried out to understand the problems and needs of the inhabitants of the “Independencias 1” Neighborhood of Commune 13 of Medellín in 2020. Surveys were carried out with the ABCD Methodology (Asset-Based Community Development) to 380 families living in the research territory. With information from the survey analyzed, it was deemed appropriate to raise the investigation from Intrinsic level to Instrumental level to understand the problem in context based on the understanding of the initial case of “Independencies 1”. By understanding the scenario at this level, the incubation of a Social Innovation Ecosystem took place linking the 5 main actors of Local Community, Academia, State, Private Sector, and Environment; and a series of indicators and metrics aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN) to measure the contribution of Comuna Project to the goals of the 2030 Agenda. In developing the Comuna Project Ecosystem, based on Adaptive Change Management, Non-Formal Education and Psychosocial Support emerged as key priority areas in the community. Colombia and, specifically Antioquia, is a high potential region for this field, due to the social troubles and their innovation ecosystem, but nevertheless, this kind of business are almost unknown, and because that born the need of design a model for the creation of social entrepreneurships in Antioquia, focused on the social, environmental an economic impact. This research was conducted under a qualitative focus and the type of study was descriptive, the analysis unit was made up of entrepreneurs and trainers of this type of company; the tools used for collecting data were questionnaires and interviews, with an intentional sample were applied to social entrepreneurs and representatives of the innovation system and academy.Ítem Perfil jurídico – económico de las sociedades de Beneficio e Interés Colectivo (BIC) constituidas en Medellín durante los tres primeros años de la expedición de la Ley 1901 de 2018(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Molina Guerra, Mateo; Estrada Toro, Juan Antonio; Nieto Nieto, NormaThe present research studies the possible existence of a Legal-Economic profile for the benefit and collective interest corporations (BIC) that have been constituted in the city of Medellin since 2018, in which, the Law 1901 of 2018 established the existence of these corporations. In addition, we also seek to know the perception of the businessmen who have been incorporated or have applied for the legal regime of the BICs. The research was developed based on two main sources for the recollection of information, documents and interviews focused, deliberate, conducted with the businessmen.
