Publicación Diseño de un modelo de gestión por procesos para los servicios de apoyo docente en el centro de laboratorios de la Universidad EAFIT(Universidad EAFIT, 2026-01-28) Duque Orrego, Julián Andrés; Hernández López, Juan David; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaThis work addressed the identification of processes carried out within the academic context at the Laboratory Center of EAFIT University, with the purpose of defining them individually and describing the relationships among them. The aim was to identify common points in the operation of different units for the formal description of processes in this academic area, with the intention of later applying them in a standardized manner to optimize resource utilization. Qualitative techniques were used for the research, such as interviews, review of internal documents, and literature related to the study topic. Six processes were identified: one strategic process called strategic planning; two core processes, academic practices and independent work; and three support processes, equipment assurance, personnel assurance, and procurement. Each of these was described through a characterization sheet, a PEPSU diagram, and a BPMN activity flowchart. Additionally, performance indicators were proposed for each process, as one of the weaknesses of the Laboratory Center is the absence of performance measurement. This work seeks to contribute to some of the main challenges of the University by promoting continuous improvement of academic support processes in an area recognized for its contribution to experiential learning within the School of Applied Sciences and Engineering
