This study examines the perception of well-being among women coffee farmers in southwestern Antioquia, identifying barriers and opportunities for their development. Using a mixed-methods approach based on surveys, the research evaluates key dimensions such as access to productive resources, economic decision-making, and the distribution of household responsibilities. The findings reveal that, although most women own their land, they face limitations in accessing credit, technology, and technical training. Additionally, the burden of domestic and productive work restricts their participation in decision-making and training opportunities. The study concludes that the private sector can play a key role in improving the well-being of these women by promoting inclusive financing strategies, specialized training, and measures to reduce gender inequalities in coffee farming.Publicación Mujeres rurales, vida y territorio : transiciones socioecológicas para la gestión territorial comunitaria(Universidad EAFIT, 2026) Escobar Isaza, Sofía; David Castaño, Deyis; Silva Botero, Catalina; Domínguez Hernández, María PaulinaThe main objective of this research is to propose some guidelines for territorial management based on the community strategies of rural women in the context of socio-ecological transitions, taking as a reference the Chocoabibe collectives located at the Abibe Serrania (Carepa, Antioquia, Colombia) and Mujeres de la Marimonda at La Marimonda Swamp (Necoclí, Antioquia, Colombia). The study is based on the socio-environmental and organizational characterization of both groups, the analysis of the territorial management instruments mainly used by the municipalities, focusing on the participation of rural women, and the co-creation of guidelines for territorial management based on the experiences and knowledge of the collectives. Theoretically, it is based on the reflections of Latinoamerican Feminisms (Cabnal, 2010) and Feminist Political Ecology (FPE) (Ulloa, 2022), an approach that leads to an understanding of the connection between body, nature, and power from a situated perspective. The methodology used is qualitative, with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) design (Fals-Borda, 2009), which allows the development of a collective research process throughout interviews, workshops, body and territorial mapping exercises, field trips, and co-creation meetings. It is concluded that rural women manage the territory and contribute to socio-ecological transitions through practices of care and defense of ecosystems, collective action, and the production of knowledge and economies for life.
