Objective: To investigate how mental health is conceived, promoted and intervened by Human Resources professionals in companies in Antioquia. Method: Qualitative study with descriptive approach, using a semi-structured interview to 12 Human Resources professionals in companies of Antioquia as an instrument of information collection. Results: The participants of the study are aligned with the definition of mental health issued by the OMS. Most of the promotion and prevention practices respond to compliance with legal regulations. Promotion and intervention practices are developed with our own resources and with the support of external entities. Most of the interviewees expressed that the Human Management area played a more leading role, due to the need to accompany people in the face of the uncertainty experienced as a result of the pandemic. They recommend leaders and companies in general to promote knowledge on mental health issues in order to favor support and early identification of mental health problems and to articulate the programs with the organization's strategy, while ARLs are recommended to provide support with new strategies, without discriminating the size of the company. Most of the participants state that they themselves are responsible for the care of their mental health. Conclusion: The concept of mental health corresponds to the OMS definition, practices for the promotion and prevention of health are applied, assuming a strategic role in the organization.

This study estimates the effect of the subsidies given for the purchase of housing to families in the municipalities over the years, the characteristics of the public housing projects, the price per square meter offered per project and the multidimensional poverty index per block on the number of square meters offered by construction companies in public housing projects located in Medellín and its Metropolitan Area. We find evidence of the importance of housing subsidies for construction companies and how the availability of land can generate incentives for the construction of social interest projects compared to sites with low availability. The results show that for the total of the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley the delivery of subsidies for the purchase of housing has positive effects on the amount of square meters offered by construction companies, finding that a 1% increase in the subsidies delivered for the purchase of housing is related to a 0.017% increase in the square meters offered by construction companies. 017% in the square meters offered, likewise an increase of 1% in the price per meter is associated with 0.45% more square meters offered and finally it is found that the increase of one bedroom is associated with an increase of 1.57% in the square meters offered by construction companies, however, thanks to the estimation of the polynomial square of the bedrooms it is observed that there are decreasing marginal returns finding an optimal amount of between 2 and 3 bedrooms for units in the public housing projects.

The present work seeks to determine the contribution of a labor listening center with preventive and predictive orientation in the improvement of the mental health of the formal labor population in the municipality of Armenia, Quindío. The target population is people working in the municipality of Armenia in the formal sector, who are in the age range of 18 to 62 years. The problem of the research arises from the worrying current state of the mental health of the labor population of the municipality of Armenia, since it has been shown that occupational diseases related to mental health have been increasing in recent years.. In addition, the inefficiency of the health system in the provision of social services aimed at the formal labor population that can contribute to the improvement of their mental health is added. For the research, the mixed method was applied. As a first step, the targeted population was characterized, from a demographic, business and mental approach. Then, the key actors of the municipality of Armenia and their position on a proposal to improve the mental health of the formal labor population were recognized. Finally, the operational plan for the creation and operation of the labor listening center is designed, which is recognized as a community device. The design of this strategy turns out to be an appropriate alternative for the integration of actions, resources and objectives aimed at preventive and predictive management in the field of mental health.

The following research exercise had as general objective: to do an ex-post assessment under the logical framework methodology from the Envigado City Mental Health Program, 2016 – 2019. Being a documentary and comparative research, I started with the official information provided by the city administration. This exercise started from general aspects to specific headlines. The selected indicators are those that relate to efficiency, effectiveness, and relevance, formulating considerations of conceptual and technical order. It was possible to conclude and recommend the importance of creating a specific department that coordinates the activities related to mental health. In the same way, the establishment of a public mental health policy was proposed as urgent, in a way that the initiatives in this regard can’t be delegitimized across time and by changes in government. Finally, a greater strictness concerning the delivery of the results paperwork by the hired operators is proposed. One of the most evident findings was the lack of a baseline, the duplicity in the execution of the actions, the lack of personnel with sufficiency about planning and projects, and the late execution of some activities of the program studied. Even though we did not experience major difficulties meeting the objectives, insufficiency was found in the information previous to 2016. The development of the Master Thesis was shared with an official liaison appointed by the department of local health.

(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Puerta Villegas, Juanita; Díez, Paula Andrea
This qualitative study explores how the demands of classical ballet might influence the development of eating disorders (ED) among classical ballet dancers in Medellín, Colombia. Findings suggest that many dancers experience restrictive eating patterns and a deep internalization of ballet’s aesthetic ideals, potentially leading to ongoing concerns about their weight and physical appearance. Although no clinical diagnoses of ED were identified, behavioral patterns observed may increase the risk of developing such conditions. This study highlights the need for psychological interventions in Ballet academies to improve dancers' body image and relationship with food, and it suggests a reevaluation of aesthetic standards in Ballet to promote healthier practices.

(Universidad EAFIT, 2021-12-06) Reyes Torres, María Dilia Rosa Reyes; Colaboradora
COVID-19 is not only, in itself, an object of investigation. It also brought to the table topics that have been little explored and even little thought about, especially in mental health. His arrival reordered and modified the science agenda worldwide and opened the door to analysis from the social sciences as well. For this reason, studies have emerged that cover topics related to behavioral sciences, new ways of establishing interpersonal relationships and impacts on cognitive and professional development, among others. In addition, they take into account segmentations such as, for example, population groups, countries and gender.
