This paper presents an approach to the advances in environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) of the banks that make up the Colombian financial system, exposing the theory that relates their corporate performance to good ESG practices. In addition to this identification, the policies that each one applies in terms of ESG were mapped using the following public sources of information: management reports, reports and disclosures, sustainability reports and the Código País implementation report of Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia, among others. Lastly, banks were classified in ranges from highest to lowest compliance or adherence to ESG policies, and an analysis was made of the most profound factors that affect the adoption of ESG policies in the Colombian financial sector.

Implementación de estrategias financieras sostenibles en empresas privadas de economía circular en Colombia
(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Albarracín Lara, Hosman Giovani; Gómez López, Juan Felipe
Determining a framework of sustainable financial strategies for businesses using the Colombian circular economy model is the aim of this study. A solution structured around seven key strategies is proposed: organizational integration of sustainability and finance, strengthening of technical capacities, inclusion of impacts (ESG) in accounting, tax incentives, guarantee mechanisms for green credit, impact assessment systems and reduction of entry barriers to financing. These strategies allow increasing the efficiency in the use of resources, reducing environmental impact, improving access to financing and consolidating corporate reputation. The methodology is based on a qualitative approach with documentary review, seeking to recognize viable practices that can be adapted to the Colombian context.

    Inversiones en agricultura regenerativa
(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Buritica Fernández, Mateo; Londoño Aristizabal, Nicolas; Yepes Raigosa, David Alejandro
This paper explains the concepts of conventional and regenerative agriculture and the environmental impacts that each of these productive systems has. Then, the Welch’s t -test statistic was applied to the Ishares MSCI Global Agricultural Producers companies for the years 2019 and 2020 to determine if there are statistically significant differences in their financial results. To achieve this objective, the companies were separated into those that conduct regenerative agriculture practices and those that do not. The results of this work show that there are no statistically significant differences between the financial results of the two groups of companies. Despite the above, we consider this to be positive for the implementation of regenerative agriculture practices in the future.

Inversiones en instrumentos financieros sostenibles : un estudio de los beneficios y las oportunidades
(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Pérez González, Juan David; Serna Salazar, Daniela; Correa Lafaurie, Luisa Fernanda
This study analyzes the financial performance of green bonds through the YTM S&P Green Bond Select Index USD, evaluating its relationship with key macroeconomic variables and its potential in sustainable portfolios. Using historical data on financial indices and variables such as interest rates, inflation, and volatility, advanced econometric methodologies, including Ridge and GARCH models, were applied to address multicollinearity issues and model volatility. Results highlight a moderate positive correlation between green bonds and macroeconomic variables, with a competitive Sharpe ratio and a favorable position in the efficient frontier. Additionally, the relative stability of green bonds was confirmed, even in volatile contexts. Conclusions emphasize the appeal of these instruments for portfolio diversification and promoting financial sustainability. This work contributes to the sustainable finance literature and offers implications for public policies and investment.
