An analysis of the socioeconomic implications that the application of this Law could have on the business development and on the labor market, the possible increase or reduction of the unemployment rate that it could generate, among others, is presented. Law 2101 of 2021 is briefly analyzed to examine its socioeconomic effects and to highlight its exclusion of management, trust, and management workers. Subsequently, possible solutions to the regulatory regime currently applied to this type of workers are proposed. Finally, a comparative law analysis is made with the application of this type of measures in other countries and the effects that this has produced.Ítem Análisis y predicción de recontactos en un contact center(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Velásquez Gaviria, Diana Catalina; Quintero Montoya, Olga LucíaThe main purpose of this work is to solve in a methodical and formal way, making use of ma- chine learning models, a real problem of the productive sector that allows in addition to adding value for decision making, to provide a methodology and a compact, simple and reliable model that can be deployed and put into production in the technological platform that supports the call handling of a contact center so that benefits can be generated in the provision of the service for different sectors, generating efficiencies in the use of the channel and maximizing the customer experience in the attention of their requirements. To achieve this purpose, an airline dataset was taken containing the detail of all historical calls made by customers to a contact center during a period of 7 months (February to August 2019) and information associated with the performance of the agents handling those calls in order to predict whether users will generate at least one recontact to the contact center for the attention of their requirements before three days with respect to their initial contact. The methodology used was focused on making an ap- propriate selection of features and choosing a machine learning model that generates optimal results and enables an easy implementation allowing to identify in real time those customers with high probabilities of recontacting so that a strategy can be developed with them to impro- ve their experience. It was found that with 7 variables associated with the historical behavior of customers in the use of the channel such as frequency of calls (amount), average duration, number of agents who have served the customer (agents), time elapsed between first and last call (validity), number of days per month in which calls are made (AverageDaysInMonth), ave- rage number of calls per day (Average-Day) and time elapsed since the customer’s last call to the cut-off date of the analysis (Recency), it is possible to predict with a simple model and with very good results (AUC=88.9 %) whether a customer will call the contact center again.Ítem Choosing the Weighting Constant in Compound Optimal Designs: cD-optimal Designs(Universidad EAFIT, 2013-11-05) Flórez-Restrepo, César; López-Ríos, Víctor Ignacio; Universidad Nacional de ColombiaÍtem Descripción de las metodologías de gestión que usan las startups en Colombia y su incidencia en la eficiencia y competitividad(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Salazar Cañola, Valeria; Sanclemente Mansilla, Julian; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz Amparo; Taborda Araque, Julián AndrésThis project aims to identify the most popular strategic and operational management methodologies used by startups in Colombia and how they can impact their efficiency and productivity. The origin of this research is based on the recognition that different management methodologies have been created and popularized throughout history, in all types of organizations and at different levels of them (operational, strategic, logistics, amongst others). Some of these methodologies have been maintained over time and many companies still use them today. Others did not have the expected success and disappeared, several have changed and have adapted to new types of organizations, and many, completely new ones have also emerged in recent years. . New ventures and startups, without a doubt, have put traditional management methods to the test, which is why the development of this research becomes important considering the prominence that startups have had in the global economic ecosystem and locally in Colombia in recent years. These companies evolve rapidly, and are subject to significant changes in the short/medium term, and generally do not manage a robust administration or strategic structure. New trends in administrative, strategic and operational management are created, some of these hybrids are even difficult to qualify and this undoubtedly unleashes a series of questions around the methodologies used by these type of companies that are intended to be developed in this project. This research addresses startups from different sectors in Colombia such as Fintech, Martech, Edtech, amongst others, which allow to evidence, according to the sector in which they participate, the differences that exist in the implementation of the different management methodologies.Ítem Diagnóstico de generación de valor en las empresas públicas del sector transporte del municipio de Pereira(Universidad EAFIT, 2014) Rendón Rodríguez, Johana; Urrea González, Alonso; Gutiérrez Ortiz, Luis Fernando; Uribe de Correa, Beatríz AmparoUno de los indicadores más relevantes en un análisis financiero es el Valor Económico Agregado (EVA), porque determina el valor de la diferencia entre la totalidad de los ingresos y la deducción de los gastos, incluyendo el costo de oportunidad del capital más los impuestos -- Es por esta razón que las empresas privadas toman este indicador para medir la eficiencia y la gestión realizada en un periodo para procurar ser sostenibles en el largo plazo -- Razón por la cual se consideró necesario diagnosticar sí las empresas del Estado tienen este indicador como fuente para la toma de decisiones, o si únicamente los indicadores financieros tradicionales son incluidos como referencia -- De acuerdo a lo anterior, se quiso tomar como muestra el municipio de Pereira, específicamente en las empresas que han permitido el desarrollo de la ciudad, como son las empresas enfocadas en el sector transporte, (Aeropuerto Internacional Matecaña, Terminal de Transportes de Pereira S.A y Megabus S.A) debido a la estratégica ubicación geográfica para las interconexiones con las principales ciudades del país, y responder si han generado valor las empresas públicas del sector transporte en el municipio de Pereira entre los años 2007 a 2011 -- Para realizar el diagnóstico se recolectó la información histórica a través del sistema de información del Ministerio de Hacienda y directamente con cada empresa -- Con esto se logra realizar el diagnóstico de las tres empresas públicas del sector transporte del municipio de Pereira en el cual se determina, si han creado o destruido valor, y se establece la tendencia del resultado del mismo, e igualmente se plantea, para cada empresa, recomendaciones en torno al temaÍtem Diseño del modelo de implementación del programa Rionegro Ciudad Inteligente(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Aristizábal Marín, Andrés Fernando; Marín López, Ruby Esneda; Vargas Sáenz, Mario EnriqueÍtem Efficiency analysis in the colombian electricity distribution sector in the period 2010-2019 : a stochastic frontier analysis(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Rúa Ledesma, Estefanía; Ramírez Hassan, AndrésÍtem Estimación de la eficiencia en inversión pública en educación : un caso de estudio para Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Palacio Lara, Maria Camila; Urbina Hincapié, Rafael Ignacio; García Cruz, Gustavo AdolfoÍtem Estrategia de sostenibilidad como generador de rentabilidad en el sector bancario(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Echeverri Hernández, Laura; Arango Gómez, Natalia; Mejia Jaramillo, AlejandroThe banking sector is a fundamental factor that supports economic development of countries. The more efficient and advanced it is, the more it contributes to the growth of society. In recent years, the sustainability trend has gained relevance in the banking sector, even many Banks have changed their growth strategies in order to obtain profitability and provide social, ethical and environmental value. The objective of this study is to determine, through the DEA methodology, that sustainable Banks can archive higher retuns compared to Banks that do not have sustainability as a priority. For this, data from fifteen comercial Banks of Latinamerica between 2014 and 2018 were taken as a sample. The results show that there is no positive correlation between efficiency and sustainability. In addition, the results also show that Corporate Governance is the most relevant criterion to measure bank efficiency.Ítem Estrategias para la optimizacion de los gastos operativos y maximizar ingresos : caso municipio de Pueblo Nuevo, Cordoba(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Soto Benavides, Germán Darío; Caicedo Esper, Gonzalo FelipeThe municipality of Pueblo Nuevo, Córdoba, faces significant financial challenges, characterized by a growing disparity between operational expenses and generated income. This issue has led to regular fiscal performance and a strong dependence on national transfers, limiting financial autonomy and the municipality's capacity to effectively manage its finances and provide public services. The main objective of this research is to design strategic measures that optimize efficiency in operational expenses and maximize the municipality's own revenues. The main question is: How can the municipality of Pueblo Nuevo optimize its operational expenses and maximize its revenues to improve fiscal performance and reduce dependence on national transfers? The methodology employed includes a descriptive design that statistically analyzes documentary financial and budgetary data of the municipality. The results reveal a significant increase in operational expenses between 2012 and 2022, especially in personnel expenses and procurement of goods and services. In conclusion, it is recommended to establish a clear legal framework and robust control mechanisms to ensure transparency in the management of public resources. Additionally, promoting public-private partnerships and consolidating procurements is suggested to enhance operational efficiency and increase public confidence in local government.Ítem Estudio de mercado en la zona centro de Colombia orientado a investigar si el producto Sigma Air Manager 4.0 (sam 4.0) es atractivo desde el punto de vista técnico y económico para los clientes de sistemas de aire comprimido(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Moreno Barragán, Andrés Felipe; Guerrero Caguazango, Fernando; Vélez Ramírez, José Alejandro; Serrano Rivero, Sergio Andrés; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz AmparoIn the Colombian industry, introducing solutions or products built with Industry 4.0 technology, specifically focused on energy efficiency, poses a challenge. This trend is primarily driven by the difficulty of justifying, approving, or allocating budgets for high capital (CAPEX) investments, as the savings benefits are not immediately visible and are not tangible in the short term. Without incentives through rates or penalties for excessive use of energy resources, it becomes an even greater challenge to find a pathway for developing business and increasing sales of energy-efficient compressed air systems. For companies with a differentiated technology portfolio, this context underscores the need to develop sales, marketing, and communication tactics to build trust and leverage market needs, such as during drought seasons, when the price per kilowatt-hour rises significantly. This market study aims to capture the voice of customers by using an exploratory approach with a qualitative method of in-depth, semi-structured interviews. The goal is to create a commercial narrative, a marketing strategy, and a communication plan that align with the desires and needs of technical and financial decision-makers in the target market segments for the commercialization of highly energy-efficient compressed air systems in central Colombia.Ítem Formulación planeación estratégica Medvision S.A.S.(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Sierra Muñoz, Jorge Enrique; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaÍtem Generalized Simulated Annealing Algorithm for Matlab(Universidad EAFIT, 2019-11-29) Wilches Visbal, Jorge Homero; Martins Da Costa, Alessandro; Universidad del MagdalenaMany problems in biology, physics, mathematics, and engineering, demand the determination of the global optimum of multidimensional functions. Simulated annealing is a meta-heuristic method that solves global optimization problems. There are three types of simulated annealing: i) classical simulated annealing; ii) fast simulated annealing and iii) generalized simulated annealing. Among them, generalized simulated annealing is the most efficient. Matlab is one of the most widely software used in numeric simulation and scientific computation. Matlab optimization toolbox provides a variety of functions able to solve many complex problems. In this article, the generalized simulated annealing method was described, the GSA function that contains this method was applied to some mathematical problems were solved in order to evaluate the efficiency of GSA with respect to some of Matlab optimization functions. As a result, it was found that the GSA function not only manages to be effective in its convergence to the global optimum but also it does so quickly. Likewise, it was observed that, in general terms, GSA was more efficient than the functions with which it was compared. Therefore, it can be concluded that the GSA function is a novel and effective alternative for addressing optimization problems using Matlab.Ítem Implementación de la Unidad Municipal de Atención y Acceso a la Justicia(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Piedrahita Londoñoño, Wilfer Alonso; Atehortua Osorio, Mariano de Jesús; Murcia Sánchez , David RicardoÍtem IoT como tendencia : retos y beneficios generados por la implementación de este tipo de soluciones en empresas colombianas del sector de industria y comercio(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Franco Agudelo, Paulo Alejandro; Osorio Lema, Edwin Alexis; Giraldo Hernández, Gina MaríaThe Internet of Things (IoT) has been growing rapidly in the past few years, generating a great amount of applications in different economic sectors, which can be implemented in any Company and any place in the world. Its advantages can’t be denied, nevertheless there are still a few topics and concerns about security and a possible unemployment issue due to the fact that these things can replace human labor for machines or things that can make the same work even more effective. Through an exploratory and descriptive analysis this paper tends to give a context about the tendencies and the evolution of IoT solutions in the past few years. Likewise, identifies the different trends in these kinds of solutions, especially in Colombia, to analyze the problems and advantages companies will have to deal with. Throughout this essay will be introduced situations, cases and explanatory examples, that will let us identify the benefits and dares found during implementing this type of solution.Ítem Managerial efficiency and failure of U.S. commercial banks during the 2007-2009 financial crisis: was this time different?(Universidad EAFIT, 2016-12-02) Álvarez-Franco, Pilar B.; Restrepo-Tobón, Diego A.Ítem Mecanismos para la remuneración de los Recursos Energéticos Distribuidos (DER) para su incorporación en el mercado eléctrico colombiano(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Pérez Orozco, Diana María; García Rendón, John Jairo
