    Ansiedad del personal de un jardín infantil en el contexto de la emergencia sanitaria

    The sanitary emergency generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, created a context in which governments, especially the Colombian one, implemented a series of strategies in order to mitigate the virus spread. Amongst those strategies, the educational institutions were shut down and citizens were confined in their homes. At the same time, they were informed with information about the virus, how it spread, etc... That situation generated anxiety in the general population and specifically in teachers and administrative colleagues in kindergartens. This exploratory study, which is non experimental and transversal-quantitative, measured the anxiety levels of colleagues of a Kindergarten in Medellín, Colombia in July 2020, when they were still confined, working from home. The study found that 52% of the colleagues of that Kindergarten had minimal anxiety, 29% a moderate level and 18% mild anxiety.

    The objective of this study was to identify the different variables that generate a positive attitude towards the online purchase of hygiene products for babies. The done research is qualitative and was focused on knowing the attitudes, feelings, and motivations of the interviewees, for which, interviews were conducted with 11 parents of babies under 2 years of age. Among the findings, It was found that the willingness to buy the category by this means is related to different variables such as the ease of use of the platform, which supposes a saving of time that can be used on other activities, the possibility of not going to physical stores avoiding so risks related with contagious in the frame of the current pandemic (Covid 19), the trust generated in the platform because of its recognizing, managing of several brands, secure payment, and clear customer service, among others. Moreover, it’s found that having a place for advice or recommendations inside the platform can positively influence a favorable attitude towards it.

    Efectos del aprendizaje asociativo entre un olor y una emoción evocada en jóvenes de Medellín

    The present study is an academic exercise that aims to adapt previous scientific research relating the effects of associative learning between an odor and an emotion (Herz, Schankler and Beland, 2004). A total of 9 participants are divided into three groups according to the conditions of the presence or absence of a particular odor, Group 1 is exposed to the same odor at two times, Group 2 is exposed to a different odor at each time, and Group 3 is not exposed to any particular odor (control). The STAI instrument is used to measure anxiety-state levels in a pretest-posttest model and performance is assessed with a linguistic task. The findings are similar to those of the study by Herz et al. (2004), where Group 1 presents an increase in anxiety at Moment 2 compared to Moment 1 and the time spent together with the correct answers is lower compared to the other groups; however, the behavior of Group 2 is similar to Group 1, so it is pertinent to carry out a similar study in the future with a larger sample to obtain representative results and more information on this phenomenon.

    Emoción y razón en la decisión de compra en restaurantes de lujo

    Objective. To determine the influence of the emotion-reason relationship in a group of people from Medellin, who are between 18 and 28 years old, when making purchase decisions in high-class restaurants. Method. The type of research was also a qualitative study with a cross-sectional scope, and a phenomenological-hermeneutic investigative approach. Results. During the analysis of results, it was possible to identify 7 categories (emotion, prices, company, services, motivation, relevant factors and consumer experience) and 32 subcategories, and from them the data structure could be created. Conclusions. It is suggested that the purchase decision is largely influenced by the emotional factors of the subject, these being the most relevant to make a decision, generate a concept or perform an action. On the other hand, rational processing is influenced by emotions and this in turn generates new emotional responses in the subject, which allows a purchase decision to be generated.

    Different studies have suggested marked problems of anxiety and depression in the population that frequently use video games, or are part of the "Gamer" culture. population that frequently uses video games, or that are part of the "Gamer" culture. The objective of this study is to identify if there is a relationship between the use of video games, anxiety and depression. anxiety and depression. This research used an online self-report methodology on 60 subjects from a community of gamers, in which scales of stress, anxiety, depression and personality traits were evaluated, depression and personality traits were assessed. The results show that a part of the gaming community suffers from a high level of stress, anxiety, depression and personality traits. Gamers suffer from mild to high levels of stress, anxiety and depression. The level of stress results showed that most of the time this group of people spend most of their time stressed. stressed. This research was able to conclude that there is a relationship between the level of stress with symptoms of anxiety and depression with people who belong to the Gamer community. So it would be crucial an intervention to this group of people to give them the knowledge about stress management and how to confront the symptoms of anxiety and depression.
