To identify what challenges the appearance of the Covid 19 pandemic has on organizational culture and the how work is performed in a manufacturing sector company. Framework of conceptual references: the concepts around which the references revolve are: Organizational Culture, work organization, Pandemic Covid 19. Method: The work is a qualitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study. The design was made with a case study based on semi-structured interviews with 10 employees of a manufacturing sector company who have been with the company for more than 2 years. Employees were either in the administration team or administrative roles of the operational team. The results were organized into four large blocks that highlight the sociodemographic data of the participants. The data related to each of the sociodemographic categories was further assessed as changes in the way the work was being performed as a result of the onset of the pandemic, or alternatively the effect of the formal or expressive elements and the core aspects of the organizational culture. Conclusions: According to the results obtained and their respective discussion analysis, it can be said that the main challenges for the company were driven by essential changes in the way work is performed. This is primarily as a result of the implementation of strategies focused on Biosafety for protection health of employees, all of these have an impact on finances and human resources. Additionally, most of the participants refer to changes such as the reduction of employees in the production plant as a result of the decrease in sales, the redesign of some procedures and work methodologies, the increase in workloads for some areas, the relationships to the interior and exterior product of, among other reasons, physical distancing and remote work. All those changes, as indicated by the participants, have been mainly leveraged by the participation of management in decisions and through the flow of resources to face the situation, as well as the ability of the organization itself to easily adapt to changing situations in the environment. Finally, it was concluded that the organizational culture was affected more in regard to formal or expressive elements than to core elements, leaving values as that aspect that only few subjects perceived as changing. Whilst changes in technology, work attire, the aesthetics and distribution of spaces were noted, the characteristics, of communicational style and rituals stood out as the most influential.Ítem Expectativas de los empleados respecto de los beneficios laborales en tiempos de Covid 19 : el caso del área administrativa de una empresa de aseo privada de la ciudad de Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) García Torres, Lilly Andrea; Tapias Machado, Daniel Mauricio; Orejuela Gómez, Johnny JavierObjective. Identify the expectations of employees in the administrative area of a private cleaning company in the city of Medellín, Colombia that they would like to be taken into account when obtaining employment benefits in times of Covid 19. Method. A cross-sectional quantitative study was carried out. A case study was proposed using a survey applied to 86 employees in the administrative area of a private cleaning company. Results. The welfare, recreational and complementary benefits seen as options to improve working conditions were described mostly as a great expectation or hope of having them as part of their day-to-day life. The monetary benefit related to the payment of 100% disabilities, when the cause is due to Covid 19, is evidenced as the one with the highest preference and expectation among those surveyed, above bonuses and aid aimed at employees' relatives. There is a certain contradiction when it comes to evaluating the strengths and weaknesses offered during the pandemic, this because most consider that their needs were met in these times either in an agile or pertinent way, but as a major weakness they respond that they were delayed or were not really met. Implemented nothing. Conclution. The surveyed employees who experienced work at home more than the majority do not want to continue with this modality as a work benefit and in terms of work benefits, employees perceive that the easiest thing for the company is to implement monetary benefits.Ítem Las incidencias de la práctica de la virtualidad en el proceso penal garantista(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Mora Redondo, Wilmar Alejandro; Tamayo Patiño, Francisco JavierGuarantees in the criminal justice system, understood as the universal protection of the weakest and as limits to the power of the judge, have been threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic as a series of unfortunate decisions have been made due to forced social isolation. In the first place, a significant amount of improvisation led to the suspension of judicial terms causing an unfortunate precedent akin to the interruption of the rule of law, even when strict enforcement of current regulations would have sufficed. Secondly, virtuality was introduced with a great deal of improvisation, contradicting criminal law guarantees and leading to the violation of the constitution and principles, that took a lot of effort to achieve. Thirdly, there was no in-depth analysis of the nature of the infringements of the guarantees that would make it possible to explore and find adequate solutions to the problems that made them seem apparently incompatible with virtuality. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to perform a thorough analysis of the effects of the new virtual process in the criminal justice system, studying the problems of virtuality and the chance of solving its issues.Ítem Oportunidades, obstáculos y retos relacionados con la transformación digital en un escenario post-Covid en una empresa de sector de telecomunicaciones en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) García Valdivieso, Diego Andrés; Orejuela Gómez, Johnny JavierObjective: To identify the opportunities, obstacles, and challenges regarding the digital transformation on a post-COVID scenario in a Colombian telecommunications company. Methodology: Transversal descriptive qualitative study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with a group of eight leaders from a telecommunications company. Results: The participants had different conceptions about the concept of digital transformation and the business objectives expected by the organization. For some of them, the COVID pandemic has had a major positive impact and had accelerated the reach of the digital transformation objectives. On the other hand, it was evident that some of the participants had a more complex understanding of the digital transformation concept, revealing the challenges and reasons to go ahead with the transformational process by the organization. As a consequence of COVID pandemic, the critical situation of the market aggravated. Therefore, the need to implement a strong technological platform, simplify processes and establish policies for remote working are challenges that the digital transformation program must address with the highest relevance. To conclude, the organization should aim to take advantage of valuable opportunities such as the migration towards digital channels and the education and sensibilization about digital solutions. The company should attempt to agree on the digital transformation concept and objectives, firstly within the leadership team responsible for the project but also across the whole organization. Besides, the organization should focus on accelerating its digital transformation roadmap as the characteristics of the telecommunications sector, the financial impact on the Colombian society, the arrival of new competitors and the changes on the employee’s working dynamics demand so.Ítem Política fiscal en Colombia durante la pandemia del Covid-19 en el 2020(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Mejía Morales, Mateo; Quirós Arango, Luis Fernando
