The main objective of the research presented is to identify how local cultural factors influence the Human Management practices of the banana companies present in Urabá Antioquia. The context where the study was developed is a geographical area of Colombia, characterized by a high agricultural dedication, specifically the production of export-type bananas, which contributes a greater percentage to the economy of the region and the country. Hence, the presence of a population native to the territory and that from other sectors of the country, as well as historical factors of violence, displacement, illegal occupation of the territory; give rise to the configuration of a considerable cultural breadth to take it into account as an important factor in banana organizations. Throughout the history of the business, it has been organized in associations of producers, marketers and union groups, which have made it possible to formalize benefits and conventional salaries, which grant important guarantees to those who work in the sector. Due to the above, the employment relationship was considered from the strategic point of view of human management, focusing on identifying which cultural factors of the region such as: Customs, Rituals, Stories and Values exert influence on human management practices implemented by companies. and addressed to their operational base. To achieve this, the research was developed through the qualitative research methodology, which allowed us to find that the presence of local cultural factors in the operational base of the banana companies influence Human Management practices, as they enable their implementation. or they also become hindering factors; therefore, by taking into account the experiences and knowledge of human management leaders and operational leaders, it was concluded that knowing and being aware of the local cultural context is a necessary strategic task so that the design and implementation of practices are coherent and contribute to the organizational objectives pursued.

Factores socioeconómicos y variables de disuasión que explican la criminalidad en Colombia entre el 2010 y 2017

This paper is an empirical application of the Becker-Ehrlich model, to determine some factors that influence the crime rate in the municipalities of Colombia and contribute to the crime economics studies carried out in the country. Based on panel data for municipalities of Colombia from 2010 to 2017, the determinants of crime rates were estimated using a fixed effects model where the cross-sectional units are municipalities and temporary units the years. The main variables of interest were those that conceptually approximate the Becker-Ehrlich model: the catch rate (associated with deterrence and probability of capture), and the industry tax payment rate (associated with the economic dynamics of the municipality, which serve as a proxy for the opportunity cost of going to the legal labor market). The specification of fixed effects manages to control municipal idiosyncratic characteristics that do not vary over time (such as culture), and annual shocks common to all municipalities (such as changes in national public policies). In general, these results are relevant to guiding future investigations into economics crime and serve to make several policy recommendations that contribute to the fight against crime in the country.

The World´s population is in an constant growth as well as it cities, which makes them adapt to the needs that are being progressively created in response to this accelerated growth. The following project as well as its efforts will be focused in the city of Bucaramanga, capital of Santander´s department in Colombia. A municipality with quite particular geographical characteristics of plateau, escarpment, hillside and hills on the eastern mountain range; which, according to our concept, are presenting delays in orderly densification processes that respond to its rapid expansion. To date, the city of Bucaramanga has run out of land for its urban expansion, which is why the need of looking for revitalization options and urban renovation has been rose, as it has been done in other Colombian cities like Medellín. What these urbanism’s exercises look for is to optimize existing functions and soils in the territory, creating responsible planning of the land through stablished tools by the current legislation that allow to carry on with these process with different scales of impact. As part of the work and in order to contextualize these urban planning exercises, we will be analyzing several projects like study cases. As an example of successful experiences we can mention the national projects Ciudad Victoria in Pereira and el Eje urbano de la carrera 5ta in Neiva; as well as the International ones Plan 22 in Barcelona and High Line Park in Nueva York. Once the cases of study have been analyzed, we will review the positive aspects to recreate them, adapting them to the characteristics and particularities of Bucaramanga, likewise, the negative aspects will be taken into account so as not to replicate them in the methodological proposal that we wish to carry out in this work. Keywords: Urban renewal, urban revitalization, urbanism, Bucaramanga.
