This waste is deposited in an open dump, which causes environmental damage to the soil, air, and water. Although in the rural area there is some use of organic waste, the lack of environmental awareness and the lack of adequate education contribute to the contamination problem. This degree work focuses on conducting a pre-feasibility analysis for the implementation of a solid waste plant in Corinto, Cauca, with the objective of developing sustainable practices that contribute to the proper management of waste and to the strengthening of environmental conservation in the region. A mixed research methodology will be used, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches to evaluate the feasibility of the project. The methodology is adapted to the preinvestment phase and considers technical, regulatory, environmental, and economic aspects of solid waste management. It began with an environmental analysis, followed by a technical study that provided information on project requirements. Legal aspects were also evaluated, as well as possible environmental impacts, proposing measures to mitigate them. Finally, a financial analysis was carried out to evaluate the profitability of the project, using indicators such as the Net Present Value and the Internal Rate of Return. This work seeks to offer an integral solution for solid waste management in Corinto, Cauca, that promotes environmental sustainability and contributes to the integral development of the territory.Ítem Análisis de rendimientos financieros en campañas de crowdfunding como opción de inversión en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Tamayo Jaraba, Anny Greis; Bohórquez Bohórquez, Omar; Vergara Garavito, Judith CeciliaThis research project focuses on the study of crowdfunding campaigns in Colombia as an innovative source of financing during the last decade and its relevance within the context of entrepreneurship and participatory financing, providing access to capital for projects that face difficulties and restrictions. in everything related to the search for financing sources, as well as the regulatory and legal implications and growth prospects. For this reason, it is possible to find deeper financial markets in mature economies than in underdeveloped or developing economies. However, in many cases, access to capital markets is restricted because of lack in financial inclusion, and only those with more privileges are the only whom can access to them, as it happens in most of developed economies. The present paper aims to analyze the dependence among financial inclusion policies and the development of deeper financial markets for different countries among developed economies (OECD members), developing economies and underdeveloped economies, with the objective to show how important is to promote financial inclusion at all levels to boost economic growth.Ítem Análisis jurídico del esquema de financiación colaborativa o crowdfunding financiero en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Saldarriaga Taborda, Manuela; Nieto Nieto, NormaÍtem Aproximación al impacto del turismo en las dinámicas del consumo de drogas en Colombia (2012-2022)(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Franco Valencia, Sarah; Saavedra Muñóz, Nicolás; Tobón, SantiagoCurrently, tourism is one of the most relevant legal activities for the Colombian economy due to its contribution to issues of growth and development. Nevertheless, it can potentially bring negative situations such as insecurity and gentrification. On the other hand, from an illegal perspective, we can observe economic dynamics in activities like the drug market, which is one of the most significant money-moving sectors within the Colombian economy. Considering both activities and their economic magnitude, this research work explores a potential relationship between the arrival of foreign tourists and the drug consumption dynamics, as measured through police seizures in Colombia between 2012 and 2022. The conducted theoretical framework demonstrates a possible connection between these variables through economic theories like those related to crime and consumer behavior. Furthermore, a differences-in-differences model is presented to explore an approach to the relationship using seizure measures for various drugs in Colombia. The results indicate a potential link between the arrival of tourists and drug market dynamics, yielding positive, negative, and inconclusive results for the different types of drugs.Ítem Área de gestión social en la empresa Cortés Leiva Asociados S.A.S(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Cortés Ortiz, María Fernanda; Vargas Sáenz, Mario EnriqueÍtem Atrayendo offshoring : un análisis desde el ambiente institucional(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Bedoya Maya, Felipe; Tamayo Plata, Mery PatriciaÍtem Buenas prácticas de Employer Branding o marca empleadora en algunas empresas de referencia en Montería y zonas geográficas cercanas(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Bent Requena, Bill Anthony; Betancur Hurtado, Carlos MarioLet's see in this master thesis how some companies that enjoy recognition in the department of Cordoba stand out in their employer brand, it will be an adventure to discover these practices and record in science, what has been done in this territory with support in what is recommended by the scientific literature of the highest quality regarding this subject, in addition to generating recommendations or opportunities for improvement, here is remarkable the intervention of the Academy to bring development in the business fabric of Colombia and the world.Ítem Cambio climático, convergencia económica regional y efectos espaciales : nueva evidencia empírica para Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Astudillo Mendoza, Carlos Alberto; Aristizábal Tamayo, Juan ManuelThe study analyzes the effects of climate change on economic growth and conditional regional convergence processes in Colombia over the past decade. Using panel models applied to 32 departments over the 2008-2019 period, climate variables are incorporated, and spatial dependence is modeled to capture both the direct and indirect effects of climate on economic growth and interregional convergence. Three main findings emerge from the results: (1) the interaction between the deviation from departmental average temperature and convergence, with an estimated coefficient between -0.03 and -0.044, suggests that temperature variations have more significantly impacted economic growth in the more developed departments; (2) evidence of nonlinearities in the climate-growth relationship, with an optimal deviation threshold of 0.32 °C from the historical average, beyond which negative effects on growth are observed; and (3) the presence of spatial spillover effects, where climatic variations in one department impact the economic performance of neighboring regions. These findings contribute to understanding how climate change influences regional growth and convergence patterns, highlighting the importance of implementing mitigation and adaptation measures that consider both local effects and regional interdependencies, as well as the critical thresholds identified in this analysis (0.32°C).Ítem Cambio climático, procesos adaptativos y crecimiento económico : un análisis de equilibrio general para Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Mosquera Solarte, Henner Andrés; Hurtado Rendón, Álvaro Arturo; Botero García, Jesús AlonsoÍtem Caso de estudio : estructuración de política de financiación para una empresa en etapa de crecimiento del sector real(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Gómez Vergara, Andrés; Toro Gómez, Pedro José; Restrepo Tobón, Diego AlexanderPublicación Caso de estudio : internacionalización El Rancherito(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Mira Mora, Yisell Nallive; Salazar Salazar, Sandra Milena; Pineda Guevara, Andrés Felipe; Waserman Álvarez, Jean PaulThis study case analyzes the international expansion of a Colombian restaurant business into the United States.
