To understand knowledge creation of a group of annatto farmers from the Chintadó community, in Chocó through the exploration of practices and knowledge that the group has built in the agricultural practice that characterizes annatto production. Design / methodology / approach - To understand the knowledge creation process of the group of annatto farmers from Chintadó, their practices and knowledge were explored through observation and construction of the group’s oral history under a qualitative micro ethnographic approach. The data were analyzed and presented under the gaze of the Theory of Organizational Knowledge Creation. Findings - The group creates knowledge through the uninterrupted exchange of tacit knowledge, oral tradition and community life. Agents outside the group such as government entities, NGOs and annatto marketers play decisive roles in the group's combination phase. The group’s knowledge creation process gives indications of it being a capacity that allows its members to survive in an adverse socio-economic context. However, there are context-specific limitations that prevent the creation of knowledge from materializing in innovations that generate socio-economic development for the group and the community to which it belongs. Limitations / implications of research - The study does not offer an exploration of all the practices and technical knowledge of the group. Time and public order limitations restricted the deepening of some aspects of field work. Originality / value - the study is the first one that provides an explanation of a socio-economic reality of a particular context such as Chocó, in Colombia under the view of the Organizational Knowledge Creation Theory.Publicación Metodología Faro : Facilitando el Aprendizaje Reflexivo Organizacional(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Rico Flórez, Catalina; Arias Giraldo, Juan Esteban; Vélez Castiblanco, Jorge IvánIn the knowledge economy, an organization's ability to manage tacit knowledge is a decisive factor for its innovation, sustainability, and adaptation in complex contexts. However, a gap persists between the theory and practice of managing this type of knowledge due to the difficulty of designing methodologies that activate it and make it transferable in organizational life. This research aims to close this gap through the design and implementation of the FARO methodology, an experiential approach that integrates improvisation and theater as a vehicle for building living Ba environments. The research was conducted with a team of ten leaders from St. Even (Medellín, Colombia), through seven weekly two-hour sessions, framed within the action research methodology and complemented by autoethnographic and hermeneutic approaches. The fieldwork revealed a significant shift: although the initial goal was to foster the development of the “wise leader” (phronesis), the findings showed that the true potential lay in the creation of an experiential Ba, understood as a relational and symbolic space where trust, creativity, self-knowledge, and collective learning emerge. The results reveal that the FARO methodology facilitates creative awakening, comprehensive self-awareness, and the building of authentic connections, elements that enhance the quality of shared tacit knowledge and project it toward innovation and the common good. The main contribution of this thesis lies in offering a theoretical and practical framework that enables organizations to become schools for learning about humanity, where knowledge is transformed into personal, collective, and cultural development.Publicación Propuesta de un modelo de sistema para la creación de conocimiento en el área de instalación de soluciones verticales(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Isaza Echavarría, Camilo; Vélez Castiblanco, Jorge Iván
